Le St-Martin Hotel Particulier in Montreal garners appreciation for its upscale atmosphere and comfortable rooms, complete with deluxe amenities like large bathtubs and Nespresso machines. Service is generally applauded for being helpful; however, some guests have expressed frustration with disorganization. While the hotel's cleanliness often receives high marks, the value proposition is debated, with several travelers questioning the price point in relation to the additional costs and amenity issues. Despite the heated pools and room features being highlights, guests have noted occasional maintenance concerns.

My family had two rooms at Le St-Martin Hotel Particulier. We stayed for one night after finishing up a cruise in Montreal. Since we arrived in the morning the rooms were understandably not ready. Staff held our luggage so we could explore the city until checkin time.

The location was ideal for us. A short walk from the cruise terminal, while also convenient to tons of stores and restaurants Downtown and good access to public transport. It is also just a few blocks from the McGill University campus.

The rooms were beautifully appointed with great attention to detail. Sliding doors and a full window separated the bedroom from bathroom so guests can have a view or privacy as they wish. There were many amenities that appear to be good quality. There was also a microwave and small fridge that we used (the latter to heat up leftover pizza from dinner for breakfast).

Perhaps it was the location of our room (408), but throughout the night I heard constant water being recycled. It couldn’t have been someone’s shower or toilet because it never stopped. I never figured out what it was.

Finally, I want to give a big shoutout to a few staff members at the hotel who provided us with top notch service. Rosalie at the reception was very warm and welcoming at checkin. She offered us bottled water while waiting for our rooms. She was a pleasure to deal with and was patient with me while I spoke what little French I knew. (-: Another staff member to mention is Gingo from valet. He put our luggage in storage until rooms were ready and later brought the bags to our respective rooms. He was also very kind and pleasant as well. While I do not remember his name, the doorman on duty the evening of our visit gave us some restaurant suggestions for dinner. We took his advice and went to a nearby eatery that served a nice meal after a long day in the city.

Before booking our room at Le St-Martin Hotel Particulier, I did a lot of research on hotels where we could have stayed that one night. I was confident after deciding to stay here and am happy I stuck with that decision.

I arrived via train and it was a 10 min walk away which is great. Check in was quick and friendly. Everything was well explained. Walking into my room it was bigger than I expect. As just one person the bathroom was big and had enough towels and everything else. Nice pressure on the shower and the big soaking tub was wonderful which they provide bath salts for. Oh and a glass of champagne can sit very nicely on little ledge in the tub. The bed was comfortable and plenty of pillows. I did find a rip in the bed sheets but it was small so I didn't care. The fireplace set a nice ambiance. All it did was light up which I was told at the front desk this was fine to me. When I requested something the front desk staff was extremely helpful. I requested non scented products as I am allergic to scents. I received extra everything of the same but not hand soup which was important. I asked at the front desk if they had extra razor, the lady checked and didn't have anything then let me know where I can buy some. About an hour later I received a knock on the door and it was the lady from front desk with a razor. I did not go to the restaurant. I did look at the outdoor heated pool but didn't use it. I would not really say pool more dipping and relaxing. You feel very secure at the hotel. When you go into the elevator you need a key to press your number. If another person is in they need to scan their key too. It is close to shopping, college, clubs and metro stations. At night you can hear the drunkin people outside but that is not the hotels fault as they can not control them. I was on the 8th floor and I am pretty amaze how much people scream for no reason at all. The only thing that annoyed me was every time another person would try an access their room I would hear them struggling and they struggled and then were going in and out in and out. The noise lasted for about 20 minutes and that is not an exaggeration. I go to Montreal every year and I wish they would have some kind of points system to help reduce the cost because I would love to make this my regular hotel.

I am used to hotel rooms with my job and I must say that the St-Martin hotel offers a lot of quality for the price (225$ CAD/night). The beds are comfortable and quiet and the front desk is always very welcoming. For that price range, it is not what we get elsewhere.

I booked 2 rooms at this hotel for family. Limited parking so we opted to use the valet parking service. They had "an incident" with the car. The back window of my brother in laws 2018 Mercedes was completely smashed and the trunk area severely damaged. Will be thousands to repair. They would not provide us with a rental car nor arrange for the car to be taken back to Toronto. They taped up the back window with plastic, a lousy job which ripped off before we even got out of Montreal the next day. We had to stop and buy duct tape to secure it ourselves. They say they will refund 1 room ($200) which is pretty measly given the amount of damage to the car and the stress it put us under while we were there for a family funeral. No offers of free breakfast or dinner. Unpleasant management team dealing with this. Our ride home was dangerous and noisy and freezing and we were stressed out the whole way back. I suggest Trip Advisor take this hotel off their list given our bad experience which was they caused. Don't stay here!!

We had never stayed at this hotel before but selected it for our stay based on reviews, location, and cost. We couldn't be more please with our stay! The staff was prompt to reply to our requests and extremely friendly and informative at check-in, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient and safe! The only difficulty we had was one of the two elevators wasn't working which caused long waits, but that was minor. We would definitely stay there again!

The staff is incredibly friendly, they make sure you are well treated. the room was clean and modern. The location is amazing, right next to the eaton center downtown Montreal. The prices are not cheap but after checking our comparable hotels it was on par. Suprised to find water bottles in the room available for free, I mean its a small thing but seeing some of these hotels charging $5 per bottle of water it was a nice surprise.
The staff is just incredibly warm across the hotel. would recommend and stay again.

The staff at this hotel are lovely and the room was exactly how it was marketed. my only comment would be that I wish they had an option to pre-order coffee or breakfast to your room the day before. I didn't end up eating at the restaurant but it did appear to be popular. I was with my 2 girls who are 11 and 12 years old and they absolutely loved the pool. It's not big but the space is great. Overall the service was great and the location was fantastic, if you are looking to be within walking distance to old Montréal (about 25-30mins) or shopping then this is your spot!

Me and my girlfriend was looking for a staycation in Montreal.
Le St Martin is really valuable. For 160 dollars per night, we got a huge luxury room with a soaking bathtub. (Other hotels like Four Seasons with same room features would be above 400 dollars per night).
The rooms were new and clean. Hotel is luxurious. Definitely worth the money.

Thanks to the hotel team. Will return

I had a happy enough stay at this hotel and it almost merits 4 out of 5 instead of the 3 which I have rated it.
The location is fantastic, the rooms clean and the staff friendly and efficient, especially the lovely lady meeting and greeting at breakfast.
The negatives are as follows.
I found the room and hotel a bit dated overall.
The air conditioning seemed to have a mind of its own. I switched it off (I thought) and it came back on.
Something would beep twice in the room every few hours and I never worked out what it was.
On lower floors you may hear traffic, though the soundproofing is quite good.
The shower had a fixed head on the wall, no additional flexible head.
The breakfast was lacking in its variety of choices. There were only two hot options every day, scrambled eggs and sausages (plus toast of course). No vegetables at all. No porridge, just a sweet cereal and a less sweet one. There was some fruit and pastries/sweet foods though. Breakfast is clearly done on the cheap for a hotel at this level. The bar and restaurant/bistro has permanently closed.
The gym was inadequate. Tiny. Just 2 dumbbells, an old, small multi-gym and a few machines. The pool is also tiny. The lobby is small. There's nowhere nice to really hang out in the public areas during the day to have a cup of tea, people watch and read for example.
The room price, although not excessive for expensive Montreal, is still a lot of money for what you get.

Excellent, excellent service at this hotel!
When we arrived, we did have to circle the block as there is limited space to park a vehicle to valet park (all parking is valet parking). Once there, it was fast service to unload our vehicle and get us inside and parking our car. Check in was a breeze and the reception gave us maps and information about the area. When we wanted to check out the next day, they were very helpful in keeping our luggage until we completed a bus tour past our check out time.
The room was so comfortable and had lots of amenities. The strangest part was the window from the bedroom into the bathroom but it did have shutters to close this off.
