The desk staff was fantastic, the room perfectly laid out, the breakfast was outstanding and the location second to none. Sylvan and his team paid attention to every detail. It will be my “go-to” hotel when in Montreal. Many reasonably priced restaurants are located in the general area and of course, the shopping is exceptional.
The room was clean, with well equipped kitchen. Despite construction, fairly sound proof and new appliances. Super comfy beds, nice bathroom for a bath. Modern, comfortable room and common areas. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Not sure about other's complaints ? Our experience was terrific. Good, plentiful breakfast. Nice bonus. However, many guests were rude and pushy at buffet on holiday weekend .Acting as though it was there last meal. Come on people, a bit civility wouldn't hurt. One person had the nerve to sit their kid on top of food counter and feed them there. I think staff should have stepped in where common sense failed. Other than that, hotel is A1 in walking distance to many shops. Grocery store a bit of a hike but locale is worth it. Nice having a kitchen when you want a break from restaurants. But lots of good eateries near by Will stay at this hotel again, that's for sure !! gain, that's for sure !!!…
Nicely laid out rooms with excellent shower and well-designed, well-equipped kitchenette for when you're tired of always eating out. Reasonable prices, close to shopping. Very good self-serve breakfast included with nice choices an attentive staff
It was totally disappointing to have stayed for more than a week in this place trusting the name of "Marriot". The management has clearly not learnt the lessons to improve the facilities and quality of service of front desk personnel judging from all the past reviews here. The sheer number of issues we faced during our stay was ridiculous. The elevators were terribly slow and completely broken for an entire day, the wash basin was clogged four times in a day, the toilet flush was non functional for the most part, and to top it all off, the entire area outside the hotel was blocked off due to construction and the noise was extremely disorienting to say the least. Despite all these enormous inconveniences we faced, the supervisory team and staff were not accommodative or considerate, speaking to us in a condescending manner and not offering us any compensation whatsoever! Now ask yourself, does this sound like a 5 star hotel to you?…
This is not a hotel - its a motel, noisy, unclean, low quality bedding, towels, toilet paper etc. Awful smells permeate your suite in the evening, when next door neighbors fry onions or make something equally as unacceptable in a hotel setting. When you try to turn on the fan to air the room out, the fan makes a loud clicking noise when it turns itself on and off every hour, waking you up. The front desk staff is both untrained and rude: unable to explain the basic things (how to get to the parking lot, good restaurants in the area etc.), but offering a ridiculous, obvious choreographed answers when asked about the construction noise - there are construction anywhere in the city. Really? How come I was able to find an excellent non-chain hotel, clean and quiet inside and out in the best part of town after I left this dump?! The breakfast was as organized as a feeding time in a zoo: hundreds people trying to grab a few available plates, while disgruntled-looking employees brace the wall, unwilling to help. I didn't try the food, just left - what a way to start the morning. There NO COVID PRECAUSIONS in the hotel, except for mandatory masks, which are not enforced. No physical distancing, the room was so unclean I am sure nothing has been disinfected and....wait for it... no individual toilettes. Its a budget place, remember? So everyone is expected to use the same big bottle of soap, shampoo and conditioner. What could be better at the time of COVID? Do you really want to spend $300 plus $25+tax parking on all of this? Marriott should be ashamed to have this disgusting place part of its brand. Don't stay here.…
We had booked two rooms, and from start to finish this was a perfect stay! The front desk staff was so sweet. Within minutes of them finding out our son was newly engaged, they sent up some sweets and a handwritten note! They were amazing throughout the stay. The rooms were clean and spacious! The breakfast had a great selection each morning and the staff were so friendly! I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Will definitely stay there again!
Very large and comfortable room, delicious breakfast, and courteous staff at all points of contact. I found cheaper parking next door as I did not need in and out privileges. My only issue was that my room faced a construction site, and the noise began quite early in the morning (between 6am and 6:30am), not such a big deal for me as I was getting up for work at that time anyways.
This particular Residence Inn should be considered the Gold Standard for all of its sister sites. Ideal for families, close to the metro, McGill, Underground City and parks, it is neat, clean and exactly what you want and expect from this hotel brand.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel in Montreal. If you don't want to get upset, don't stay there. The customer service of the front desk was lacking professionalism in every sense. When we arrived, the front desk person was speaking so fast (I guess just to get rid of us) that we had to ask to repeat what she had said. Because of that, we couldn't find the right parking (which by the way is not in the same building, so it is a hassle). When we asked for credit (since we didn't use their parking), they treated us like criminals - triple-checking if we were not lying. I had to tell them to check with their parking attendant if we had used parking or not because she couldn't figure out what to do. The worst, however, was the fact that they overcharged us for $200.
Excellent stay. The front desk were extremely helpful, and very professional. They were able to meet all our needs, were knowledgeable and accommodating. Also, the staff at the lounge were very nice, extremely service oriented and pleasant to deal with. The hotel is well situated, and although that part of Peel street was closed due to construction, the staff ensured we knew how to navigate accordingly.
