I got this hotel on priceline ($70). Easy to find. Since it was a weekend visit to Montreal, I opted to pay for street parking as I did some shopping in Laval and the midtown area. I was in room 121 (next to the exercise room (note: reception is on the second floor). I did not hear any noises. Comfy...

Booked for an anniversary weekend, and were not disappointed. From the professional and friendly valet, to the concierge at reception, to housekeeping we were made to feel most welcome. Charming 1915 establishment, "boutiqued" with all the mod-cons, within easy walk to the Fine Arts Museum, shopping, antiquing and restaurants. (Note: "1915" also means not easily accessible - at least not...

We returned to this boutique hotel after 5 years and were so pleased to see that it is as charming as ever. The hotel is lovely, converted from an house, but retaining many of the original features, from beautiful ceilings and crown mouldings to fireplaces to interesting antiques and photographs. We were very fortunate to have a large suite, including...

We booked a 'deluxe king room', the room was in the basement of the hotel, next to the washing machine for the hotel which was constantly running. The room smelled. There were dirty stains all over the floor. The bed was dirty. We could clearly hear conversations in the other rooms. The room was directly underneath the lobby with an...

Dear Guests, In reading your remarks concerning the accommodations you recently received at the hotel, I regret to inform you that we do not have basement rooms nor a washing machine. All Deluxe King Rooms are located on the same level as the lobby. Perhaps the hotel was not up to your standards of travel. The Chateau Versailles is a...

We prefer boutique hotels and inns to chain hotels, which is why we chose this one. I had booked a "deluxe" room, and while the room was fine, it was definitely not deluxe. The paint was peeling, the furniture old and weary. It is nice that they have a Kuerig machine in the room, but a note stating that additional...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
