We booked a room here and arrived in the evening. The front desk clerk was not there. We tried to ring him on the bell he had next to his desk but the jerk did not answer. We tried to phone him but no answer. No sign was left on the desk that he would be back or that they...

I would like to advise travelers to not stay at this hotel, despite the inviting prices. I had a very disappointing stay at the hotel. I had planned to visit Montreal for the Thanksgiving holiday. I had planned to stay at this hotel for three nights, seeing how it was not very expensive. The lobby and the first floor appeared...

To be honest I was a bit worried after reading some of these reviews. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. PROS: The place was clean and well-kept (as long as you don't look under the beds). We had no trouble entering after curfew hours. Free high-speed wifi was a bonus. Beds were comfortable. Reasonably quiet. CONS:...

Even the lobby looked nice, but there are no elevators and 202 is not easily accessible if you have bags. You do get a free breakfast of thick slices of bread lightly toasted with ham and cheese and optional mustard and mayo. Unfortunately it seems the rooms don't get a thorough cleaning and the beds aren't very comfy. Altho' there...

Hmmm... well, I'm not sure whether to give this one or two stars. It's certainly down at the budget end of the market, and the fact that they advertise an hourly or three-hourly room rate says a lot about the clientèle they are trying to attract. However, the rooms seemed clean enough and the downtown location is hard to beat,...

I didn't even get to Saint-Malo, because they double booked my room and then didn't offer to help me in any way to find another hotel. This wouldn't have been my first choice but I'm going away for the long weekend during peak season and needed to find something reasonable. Leaving me high and dry is not what I call...

Rooms full of human hair, in bed ice bucket floors etc. Weird white stains all around, bed sheet burnt by cigarets, no proper heating and on top of all, this Chinese guy (owner) that would need some discipline with his customers. This is all true guys.

We booked this hotel before reading the reviews, lucky for us we had no significant experience that made the stay terrible. The room is small but had enough room to store bags. The walls are super thin and the bathroom was freezing. All that aside its located in a great part of the city, all the staff were friendly and...

Great location, and for a single person who is there to tour the city and not stay in the room, this is a great deal. But management should charge $5/night more and put in a decent shower curtain, and get rid of the dollar store lamps, clean the dead bugs around the ceiling light fixtures, throw out all blankets with...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
