At first I was very impressed with the hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and the room had a nice hardwood floor. The problem was mainly the centralheating system. We stayed there in the shoulder system (early April), and the air-conditioning hadn't been turned on yet so we were stifling, and had to open a window which made it noisy....

Hello Thank you for taking the time to send us your comments. This is an issue, that unforrtunately it is the way the rooms were designed. Our A/C system can only be turned on once the heating is turned off. Once the A/C is working, our guests can control it in each room, but it is an issue during the...

For the cheap price I paid for a single room with bathroom, it was adequate for a night's stay. Room is basic with a clean bathroom. Wifi was stable and fast. Bedsheets were a traditional style (not the duvet kind) with a brown blanket that would not be cleaned but covered by a fresh bedsheet. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. The...

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in a private room. The room was clean, affordable, the staff pleasant and the location very central. My only complaint was the hot water took a long time to come out of the shower head, and the water pressure was low. Other than that minor complaint, this was definitely a place to stay.

Great location, great price, central with the 747 bus from the airport dropping off and picking up within a block. There is a cafe connected to the hotel and Crescent Street on one corner. Close to main bus routes and the Metro.

Great value for money hotel. It was in a good location, a few minutes walk from the main shopping street and within walking distance of Old Montreal. Staff were friendly and helpful. It had everything I needed.

This hotel offered everything we needed. As the plan was to explore the city and the young men that came with were off to the big concert on the island, the hotel provided everything we could have wanted. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel is only a block away from St. Catherines St. Most of the areas we...

YWCA Simple lodgings, low price, wonderful service We received the most welcoming greeting and the friendliest, most efficient service that you ever could hope for at this YWCA hotel. As a dot org, the Y has a community service feel. My husband and I had a significant problem with our transport; lodging staff went above and beyond to assist us....

A very small room but with all the amenities; fridge; regular bed; tv; attached bath with a stall shower; coffee maker and wonderfully clean and comfortable, The location is right downtown only five blocks from the train station and only a short distance to the metro with bus stops right outside. Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
