Nestled in the heart of the city, Doubletree by Hilton Montreal garners praise for its prime location close to shops and attractions, though some guests have voiced concerns about room quality. The hotel's atmosphere, with its heated pool and live music, contributes to its inviting nature, but the noise level has been a point of contention. While cleanliness is generally appreciated, inconsistencies arise. Despite the convenience of on-site amenities and mall access, opinions on value and service fluctuate, with some guests feeling the hotel falls short in these areas.

Stayed here in late July near the end of the Comedy Festival. The hotel is in a great location to explore Montreal. It is above a subway station and within walking distance to Old Montreal.
The customer service left something to be desired at this hotel. Upon check in I was not greeted as a gold Hilton honors member in fact not even a honors member at all. The hotel clerk tried to explain to me the benefits I was entitled to by showing me the Hilton honors book they had on hand. I had to point out the benefits such as breakfast for myself and a second person staying with me. I would chalk this up to the hotel being somewhat new to the Hilton brand when we stayed. The room I got was far away from the elevator so they must've seen that was one of my requests.

The room looked out on to Jeanne Mance St so it was pretty quiet and not a bad view. The room was well appointed. The desk to use for work was weird as it does not fit a laptop on it and so a business person would find it unusable. The bathroom was small but the mirror was cool in that it had a clock that displayed the time in it. The shower stall in our room could not handle the water flow as it quickly backed up with water on the floor of the stall. The pipes should have been unclogged when the hotel went through a hotel change.

The parking is expensive although you are in downtown Montreal so the price to me was expected.

The highlight of the hotel is the breakfast. The buffet breakfast is in the top 20% of all the Hilton hotel breakfasts I have had. There is something on the buffet for everyone and items on it change daily ( such as a different eggs benedict and quiches). The staff in the breakfast area was attentive. The buffet is on the more expensive side but definitely worth having at least 1 day if you have to pay for it.

The hotel is in a great location with some great amenities but fell short on my visit for poor service.

Room was clean and nice.
The fridge is very small, the location of the fridge is not in a good spot. We could not open it all the way, it opens in the wrong direction towards the wall.
Not sure why parking is more expensive on a weeknight compared to the weekend? We stayed New Year’s Eve it fell on a weeknight, having to pay $22 instead of $12.
The hotel setup is different to say the least. There is no front entrance, not sure if it’s because of the construction? We had to walk through the parking garage, no where to drop your luggage off at the front. We had to carry our luggage from the parking garage to our room, we were not allowed to bring a luggage cart to the parking garage. From the garage you take the elevator which takes you to the lobby, you then have to get off that elevator and get on to a different elevator to get to your room. Very inconvenient, if this is all because of construction maybe the hotel could comp the parking fee? Anyone with many pieces of luggage this definitely would not be easy.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, your feedback is quite valuable to us. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not fully meet your expectations. We are glad to provide to our guests a minifridge in all our guest rooms, unfortunately due to the limited space available, our in-room minifridge are relatively small. As for the door opening direction, we do have different room layouts and thus the door might not be perfectly fit for each one. Sorry for all inconveniences. The public parking is managed by the Complexe Desjardins, unfortunately we do not decide about their pricing policies. Even if our facade is under renovations, these do not affect our parking options (self-public or valet). For luggage, it is always possible for guests to drop their luggage at the hotel entrance (street level) and request a luggage cart, then park in the self-public parking and pick up their luggage at the hotel lobby/front desk on level 6. Due to the hotel layout, as you mentioned it, guests effectively need to use 2 elevators (one from street level to our lobby/front desk and then one from the lobby to their guest room. Even if your stay was not up to your expectations, we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and offer you a seamless experience during your next visit.

My wife and I were attending the Montreal Jazz Festival and had booked a room on the executive floor of the hotel, which was less than 100 yards from one of the main venues. The first thing we noticed was the large revolving door entrance that someone had apparently smashed into, leaving an entire pane with a spiderweb crack running throughout. When we got to the front desk to check in, we were informed that the hotel bars and restaurants were closed due to a hotel worker strike. Further, there were no amenities available because of this. The hotel did try to make up for it by providing extra towels (upon request) and by providing $15 CA for each person/per day in the room, to be used in the attached mall, which had one open sports bar (La Cage). Additionally, because we were so close to the venue, you could hear and see the concerts if you could get to the terrace (which they had also closed). I’ve worked in a union environment, as management, and realize how difficult a situation the remaining staff was placed in. They did an OUTSTANDING job of covering as much as they could for the striking employees. Unfortunately, as much as was paid for the amenities or added “stuff,” this didn’t couldn’t make up for it.
The room had a spectacular view…. Of the construction across the street. Unfortunately, the construction impeded, and sometimes blocked, the traffic to the main entrance of the hotel. This isn’t a complaint, just a factual observation. The hotel is located in a great spot, central to a ton of eating establishments and other nightlife. I highly suggest making a reservation at the “Restaurant Kamuy” nearby. The food and service are excellent, and it offers a fairly close up view of the stage, while you’re having dinner. The drinks are a little small – they’re obviously using the small end of the jigger. But they are priced reasonably for a downtown restaurant. Our server, Marc Antoin, was the epitome of exceptional, attentive service. Another great attraction, right across the street, is La Place des Arts and Theatre Jean-Duceppe. During the warm weather, this place is bustling with activity all day and through the evening.
Another consideration is to take a walking tour of the historic and business districts. I had knee replacement about a year ago and this wasn’t too taxing. This is an awesome city and I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to visit Montreal and I’m looking forward to coming back for another Jazz Fest. I just hope that the labor issues and the construction are primarily resolved. This would have been a completely awesome trip if it had not been for the unfortunate circumstances.

Last, but not least: EVERYONE that we spoke to was fluent in both French and English.

We very much enjoyed a short Family Day Long weekend at the Doubletree. Conveniently located to shopping as it’s connected to the Dejardin Mall (very convenient for snacks at the IGA or Jean Couteau pharmacy) central food hall, short walk to old Montreal and Chinatown. The front desk were helpful but very busy. Our bell person Gael was extremely courteous and welcoming and helped us with an expected room change due to mechanical issues. The housekeeping service was efficient and rooms were clean and well appointed. Bed was super plush and comfortable, TV had great selection of bilingual channels, the lighting could be a bit brighter but they had adequate outlets to charge phones and iPads and complimentary wifi was good for speed and didn’t cut out like other free wifi (allowed 3 devices but managed to access 4!) The self parking was a bit confusing but reasonable at $22 weekday and $12 weekends. Note, there are NO in and out privileges and you will have to pay twice or more if you leave in the 24 hrs as the lot is not owned or operated by hotel. The swimming pool was fun but busy and they provide towels. Complimentary cookies during check in were a nice touch. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again!!

Very expensive for what it is, amenities n/a bc of Covid. I’m on my 3rd night of a 4 night stay with my teen daughter and small dog. I chose this because it is pet-friendly and had a one time charge of 65 cad per stay instead of most that charge 45-50 cad per night. There is no valet service but they will give you a cart to use, we had a lot of luggage and it takes 2 separate elevators and a hall with a ramp in-between to access the hotel. There is no one tip to do it for you which could be problematic for many. It's not quick and easy to run your dog out for a pee either. Room was dusty and the bathroom smelled like a sweaty man, there were several hairs in shower/sink (not one or two or I wouldn’t mention it). They answered hours later and offered to send someone right up but my teen already jumped in the shower so I asked for the room to be cleaned anytime the next day after 11am. 8am they knocked and woke us up, not cool. There are no more Do Not Disturb signs because there is no housekeeping unless it is requested. There is no spa. No laundry on weekends. Only 2 at a time can access the gym making it hit or miss to get a workout in. The pool is filled with kids, a good resource for families with young children. Sun deck area is lovely. The Biovac restaurant has a weekend oyster happy hour and great views on the balcony. Everyone is perfectly pleasant but it is really more of a 3 star than 4 star hotel, at least until the amenities and services come back. I paid approximately $1000 USD for 4 nights, not including parking. I think I would have been better off choosing a lower nightly price and a higher pet fee for a more relaxing experience. Shoutout to Oscar in the garage was excellent with his recommendations and general great advice.

I was very impressed by the amount of effort by Hilton Hotels to ensure the safety of all guests and employees alike. Hand sanitizer stations set up everywhere and immaculately sanitized rooms are amazing as well as the kind and friendly welcome received by the front desk staff.
The warm fresh baked cookie is an added bonus of course.
Thank you for a very restful stay.

The hotel was beautiful and had a great location; however, the first room we were given did not seem to be well cleaned (was dusty in spots and there was a plastic bag of the previous guest’s belongings in one of the cupboards. The room also had a very bad leak coming from the ceiling which caused a large puddle in the entryway where our luggage had just been rolled in, so our bags got a bit wet also. I tried calling the from desk; but, there no answer, so we had to go back down to the lobby and request a new room. While they did apologize, other than giving us a new room, we were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience (no room upgrade or even a discount).

While a security deposit is pretty standard for most hotels, there was no mention of it at check-in or check-out and the total I was told that would be charged to my card at check out was $420. When I checked my credit card statement later I saw that I was charged $620 and only when I contacted them about it was then was I told about the refundable deposit. No big deal, just poor communication. Also would be nice if they offered free parking vouchers for guest; but, it only ended up costing $14 for Fri night to Sun, so again not bad.

Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and found the location especially to be ideal, was within walking distance of ‘lots of stores and restaurants, plus only a 20-min walk to Old Montreal.

First stayed at this property back in the 70s, and good to see that it is still going strong, updated and refreshed (and in the midst of further refurbishments slated to be completed by Summer). Excellent location, connected to the Underground City, the subway, Convention Centre, and countless restaurants within a few blocks. Ideal center city location for walking both indoors and out. Spotless rooms, very quiet, no hint of road noise or the construction going on across the street. Large and brightly lit atrium swimming pool (closed temporarily but estimated to reopen in the Spring), with outdoor terrace. Large screen HD television with multitude of channel selections. Several elevators, came quickly upon called.Bathroom well laid out, with easy to use showerhead in a large walk-in shower...also equipped with bathroom mirror clock and nightlight.

Very comfortable stay, great location connected to the Place des Arts – during an especially snowy and cold stay, it was great to be able to get meals in the food court, catch the subway, and go to concerts in the Place des Arts, all without being exposed to the elements! The room was luxurious and spacious, the bed was super comfy, and the bathroom very sleek and beautiful. A lovely stay – just wish I could have visited the pool and spa. There were also fireplaces in the lobby and lounge, which added a nice touch of warmth in February.

I stayed at this hotel as an essential service provider during the pandemic. Although very little was open and Montreal was under curfew, I received a cheerful, warm welcome when I arrived late at night.
In normal times, it is impossible to beat the location of this hotel. It is literally situated at the center of everything Montreal has to offer.
The great thing about the location right now is that it is attached to a large mall, so one doesn’t have to walk outside in the cold to get groceries at the IGA, and the Café depot is still open. They certainly have the best coffee in town, and it’s only a 3-minute walk inside the mall from the hotel. There is a coffee machine in each room, but for those of us who are shameless purists, this is a lucky alternative.

Going by memory, but the short answer is, sort of. The longer answer is the hotel entrances and exits are a bit odd because of the multi-level shopping center it's attached to. The easiest way to get to St. Catherine's street is to take the lift in the lobby down to the first floor, then take the door on your left and go up a few steps to the street level (going by memory here, but I think that's correct). You'll come out on Jeanne Mance, but only a few steps from St. Catherine Street. If you look at the hotel on Google Maps, the exit I'm talking about is the little bump out between Bellucci Italia Restaurant and the circuit electrique charging station. Hope that helps.
