When we arrived, we got a room in the lower floor, the cellar, if you like. The room was nothing fancy, it was very basic, to say the least! No window, no airco, no nothing. Not the best place to stay.

Nice staff and had a great sleep. There was very conveniently a microwave, fridge and mini "kitchenette" area in the room - it was great as I stayed there 1 week and could not be bothered to go outside every day for meals. One hiccup - no elevator so don't bring heavy luggage...!

Clean room, quiet stay. Staff is helpful. Bathroom is tiny. Good place to crash if you're visiting because it's close to a lot of attractions. Mont Royal is walking distance - lots of cool shops/bars around also, the hipster kind.

The place was a dump. At 100$ a night, it was terrible. There was a cigarette burn in the sheets. I don't even know if it's a licensed business. I will Never come back. Just don't. Don't come. 100$ a night for a dump.

Stayed for three days while visiting friends and was surprised by the excellent service. Very prompt in anwsering phone and even email questions. Room was modest in size. And yes as the other reviews mention, very firm mattresses, street side was a bit noisy in the morning but not too bad. WIFI was great and location can't be beat. As...

The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location. Other than that it's a dump, featuring dirty with broken TVs , umcomfortable beds , and a bathroom that stinks like urine. Staff was also rude and oblivious. But if you don't mind that, there are lots of great restaurants in the area. But I would stay away

I stayed on a Friday - Monday, and this hotel did just fine. It has everything you need to stay and was clean. Staff were very nice and accommodating. If you are high maintenance and demand luxury, then you need to stay in some place like that. This place has all the things you need in order to stay a...

In general, the hotel is a dive, featuring uncomfortable mattresses and ill-maintained rooms. However the problems we experienced were well beyond that. I had reserved a 4 person room (2 double beds) a couple months in advance of our stay. One of the 4 people staying in the room is completely blind, which is not a huge deal - he...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
