The staff are what made the stay so nice. They were very accommodating and responsive to our needs. They even let us check in a little early because our room was ready. The location is great, it's right in the thick of things and isn't far from food. Upscale shopping is all throughout the area. Our room was clean and...

June 8-11, 2012; went for my birthday. Check-in was quick; the rooms are clean, furniture decent. The view was to the Mount Royal Park (23rd FL). The pool is in the top floor terrace (28th FL) which has a nice view; you need your key to enter. Nice place to sip some wine at sunset; they have a restaurant and...

When we visit Montreal we always stay at hotels very near to McGill. In an effort to save money, we decided to give the Hotel Le Cantlie Suites a try. Never again. This is an old, run-down hotel with a vibe like the rooms could be rented out by the hour. The front desk staff are incredibly arrogant and rude...

Stayed at the Le Cantlie Suites hotel over the F1 weekend in June 2012. We had a queen room with a pull out couch. The room was great, had floor to wall windows, very comfortable bed & a small kitchenette (basic utensils, coffee makes, microwave & fridge). There was a couch & a desk as well. The TV was a...

They will charge you for everything. The customer service is terrible. The management is worse. The rooms smell. Save yourself and go ANYWHERE else.

We were reluctant at first to book this hotel judging by the pictures and its age, but boy were we surprised when we showed-up to the hotel. This is a fantastic hotel. Yes, it's not modern or new. Yes, the hallways have dated decors, and so do some of the rooms and bathrooms. But at this price point, this was...

This hotel has a great location for a business or pleasure stay in Montreal. It is all downhill from here though: tired building in desperate need of an upgrade, cold and indifferent service, and a 'non-smoking' rooms that smelled like....cigarette smoke.

We took a family trip to Canada and got a good rate at this hotel. It could have been okay as the space was good, but the finishes are more than a little dated at this point. Carpets were frayed and old and front desk resources could be better during the day. We also got the experience of dealing with...

The location of this hotel is fabulous. It's right near shopping on St. Catharines which later in the evening is the major night life scene (as well as Crescent st). There are lots of restaurants and full of Montreal history. We walked pretty much everywhere except when we visited Mount Royal. The staff at the Hotel were great, always willing...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
