The location of this hotel couldn't be better--within walking distance or a short uber ride to most any place in Montreal you'd want to visit. Super large, clean, comfortable rooms, and knowledgeable staff, too. Terrific little cafe across the street seals the deal.
Travelled to Montreal on BA,bus 747 from the airport takes you to downtown,Peel stop is what you need to walk approx 800 metres to the Omni hotel.

Great location across from McGill University. Easy to get to. I prefer this location to the hotels below Set Catherine's Street. It is easier to get in and out of and convenient to get to various locations in the city. It is a comfortable hotel...More

We stayed a week at the Omni Mont-Royal and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located near the Peel subway station, and it's a fairly easy walk to many of Montreal's attractions. It's a very short walk to the shops on Rue Sainte-Catherine...More

Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young
professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.

It will take you 15 - 30 minutes depending upon your pace. The most direct route would be to take Rue Peel towards the St Lawrence Seaway and then a left on Rue Notre-Dame Ouest. It's a nice walk and lots to see. You could also take the Metro (Peel Station) to the Place-des-Arts Station and wander Place-des-Arts and Chinatown on the walk to Vieux Montréal.
