Unfortunately, on the last day of a Regent cruise, my husband and I, along with at least 50 other passengers tested positive for Covid in Montreal. So Regent arranged for the required 10 day quarantine in the Omni Hotel. We were met in the lobby by the concierge Gerry Lonergan, who told us that he would do everything in his power to make our quarantine bearable- and he did! Everything that we needed was immediately delivered to our room. We filled out a 10 day breakfast order, that has been filled and delivered every morning. A list of nearby restaurants that deliver was provided. Today, Gerry arranged to bring dinner from a steak restaurant to all of us quarantineers who wanted it. The room is roomy 😊 and we have a nice view. We very much appreciate this hotel providing rooms (albeit a tad expensive), and especially the thoughtful and efficient Gerry. As for us, we have only had a cough and now test negative after 7 days. Canada and the US require the 10 day quarantine irregardless, and we will receive a letter of recovery at the end of the 10 days allowing us to board a flight back to the US.…
Our go to when in Montreal. Very comfortable rooms, we treated ourselves to a King suite and lots of room. Service is excellent and by day one the doorman knew our name! Great touch. Given the covid restrictions no room service or drinks in the lovely lobby bar or breakfast in the restaurant, so we got a great list of places for delivery and the hotel was fabulous in providing cutlery and a variety of plates, when we ordered in. Lovely view of Mont Royal. We will go again.
Nice hotel- the style and fittings are a bit 80s but it was clean, spacious and quiet. No room service or minibar though, or any in room info/ where to find this info elsewhere. Might have been due to covid but with everything else back to normal, I'm not so sure. The staff were helpful when approached and all the guys on the front door very polite. The gym and pool area were a good size too. One bugbear of mine was no shower gel in the bathroom toiletries, just bars of soap (a bit old school!) But overall a nice stay, just maybe not the most modern 4 star experience.
I just returned from a 3 night stay: two pleasure, one business. Pros: Great location, accommodating staff, upgraded room was quite large. Cons: Limited restaurant hours and menu due to COVID. There's a convenience store across the street and many nearby places to eat, which mitigated the restaurant issue. For Americans who need a COVID test before returning home, they partner with a great company which will do a qualified test via telehealth. Kits are available from hotel staff. Extremely convenient. Not really a complaint but a random observation. Note the bidet. What's wrong with this picture? Seems physically impossible to use :-) All in all, I would absolutely stay here again.
I like the elevator security (your room card is needed and will only work for your floor). Amenities are provided but I would suggest grab bars to be installed in the showers. Closet comes with a safe and enough room.
The Omni is in a convenient and central location - perfect for walkers. The hotel rooms were modern and spacious, with views of Parc Mont Royal. The pool and hot tub were delightful treats - we were able to swim outside in spite of the near-freezing temperatures. The staff were very helpful. Rui in particular made my family feel welcome and provided invaluable information as we explored the city. We will certainly return the next time we are in Montreal.
I researched a ton of hotels in downtown Montreal and each one had upsides but downsides too. Finally I noticed Omni Mont-Royal on google maps, looked it up and was instantly impressed by the reviews. I am so glad I ended up choosing this hotel for our five night stay! I felt welcomed, dazzled by the hotel’s classy yet unpretentious elegance, and completely comfortable. The view of Mont Royal and beautiful old buildings was splendid too. The heated outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi topped off the wonderful experience. The staff too were all amazing, from the welcoming doorman Rui, all the lovely people at the front desk, and the cleaners who were all so pleasant and professional. My daughter who was checking out universities was impressed too. I definitely would stay here again! Thank you so much for making our stay so smooth, enjoyable and delightful! I wish i took photos! …
My son and I stayed at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal for two nights, booking nearly 2 weeks in advance, paying $216 per night, including taxes, for a “Deluxe Room – 2 double beds”. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful. The room was large, with plenty of extra space to leave a suitcase and move around without having to worry about tripping over things. The bathroom was large and the windows were large (with a view of the city). Parking was a bit odd as they directed us down a lane, across a street and into what appeared to be an independent parking garage. We paid $17.75 per night for parking, and we didn’t use our car during our two days in the city. Our room rate included a free breakfast in the restaurant. We enjoyed a great selection of served meals that included options of pancakes, eggs and salmon. The location was great, across the street from McGill University and an easy walk of a few blocks to Bell Centre. As usual, I found the pillows far too big to be able to sleep comfortably on. I generally reserve my one and five star ratings for the 2-3% of the best and worst accommodation. So in most cases, I’m deciding whether to rate a property 2 (below average), 3 (average – which does not mean “mediocre”) and 4 (better than the average hotel I stay at). The size/quality of the room, the location, the breakfast and the friendly staff earned the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal a 4-star rating.…
Pros: 1) there were not many clients in this hotel, so privacy is good. 2) quiet. 3) even under staff, but their service is good. 4) the location is great and walking distance to many famous restaurants. Cons: the gym was closed.
This hotel is in a great location and has very helpful staff but the room decor and hotel amenities are very weak--particularly since the hotel is expensive. You can find much better value for money at other Montreal hotels.
