We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during F1. Our stay was wonderful - clean rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic decor. One thing that set this hotel a part was the service. We had a reservation for dinner set up for 8 people F1 weekend but was cancelled on us last minute. In a panic, we asked the concierge for help finding us a restaurant last minute and they booked us at one of the most memorable dinners of the weekend. Incredible service. Will return.
The rooms are beautiful, the front desk hospitality leaves a LOT to be desired. I really wanted to love this hotel. I booked it for an anniversary getaway and selected it above other hotels based on the glowing reviews. However, the tone for our stay was soured at check-in. We arrived at 2:45 pm which I understand is before check in time at 3. I did not expect the room to be ready early but was told at check in it could be up to an hour to wait. I was honestly very off put not just because the room was not ready by the advertised time, but because of the lack of service of the staff. There was no offer to apologize (I'm not asking for a grand gesture) but we couldn't even be offered waters. We were simply told to wait. If I was staying at the Best Western I would be understanding. However, I don't find that acceptable at a 4 star hotel at which we spent $1200/2 nights to stay at. My partner and I waited in the lobby seating area for nearly 1 hour, at which point I went to the front desk to inquire about the room status. I was told it was not ready yet, and there was no approximate time. I politely expressed that I was disappointed the room is not ready on time, and I mentioned I couldn't even be offered a beverage for the wait. The front desk staff went off to talk to someone and their solution was to keep waiting.. and they would 'bump up" my room in cleaning order. I found it pretty appalling that for $1200 and explicitly asking for a drink the staff concluded that was not possible. I went back to my seat to wait. The only reason I didn't ask to immediately speak to management is because this was an anniversary trip and I did not want to spoil it. 20 minutes later we were handed the keys. Honestly the rooms look as pictured, I didn't have an issue with them. However, the front desk service at the hotel is not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. I had previously looked into booking the Toronto location for my staycation next month but I am so off put by the sub par service I would absolutely not book with this hotel again.…
Excellent stay. The staff is warm, genuine and caring. I was very impressed that they always addressed me by my name, in all areas of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, and the cleanliness of the hotel is remarkable. Very very high notes! Of course the location is terrific, dead center in Montréal. Marie-Eve at the front desk was very warm and professional, and the bellmen Carlo, Noah and Felix were all terrific, courteous and energetic. Thank you for an outstanding stay, I will be back.
We recently stayed in this hotel for a visit to New England and Montréal. It was our first time staying in the Le Germain chain. The hotel is located very close to McGill University and downtown. We absolutely loved it. The hotel decor, newly refurbished in a retro 60s style, is charming and aesthetically pleasing. The food in the hotel is absolutely delectable. The kitchen serves tapas style dishes, and everything we ordered through room service, in the restaurant for breakfast, and at the bar was delicious. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but not over solicitous.
Just returned from 3 nights at Le Germain, where we had a prestige queen room with two beds (we are a couple with a teenager). We have stayed at other locations of Le Germain before, and like the brand a lot. The hotel common spaces are beautiful, as are the rooms. The location is terrific; we were able to pop back to the hotel a few times each day (after a little shopping excursion, for example, or a visit to Beaux Arts). We used the inexpensive indoor parking lot across the street and were happy with it. We had a water temperature problem in our room, and this is where the hotel staff - and general hotel policies - really distinguished themselves. Though the problem could not be solved immediately (things happen, even in well-run hotels) the staff dealt professionally with the issue and we came to a very satisfactory solution. That alone ensures that we'll go back to Le Germain Montreal and will recommend the place to friends.…
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in the prestige king room. The room was so incredibly comfortable, well laid out, and is designed with so many special touches, like dimmer lights for the room beside the bed and individual reading lights. The bedding was one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Only downfall was the view was of offices, so we had to keep the curtains closed all the time. We asked if any other rooms with a better view, but was informed that this style was only on this side of the building on the 4th or 5th floors. They offered to show us a room on the 12th floor and we could switch if wanted, but we decided we like our rooms layout and could handle the curtains closed. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. With any request we had, they acted immediately. They even welcome you everytime you come into the hotel with a smile! The gym has the most amazing view, and even has peloton bikes, which I never saw mentioned in any comment, but as someone with a peloton was so happy to have away from home! The water fountains in the halls is an unexpected touch as well! Overall I loved my experience at Le Germain Montreal, and will definitely book again when back visiting Montreal!…
I loved this property! The room was wonderful and the staff could not have been more friendly or more accommodating- I have to make special mention of reception and the doorman, as they went above and beyond. I am looking forward to my return in November. Great job, guys!
This is a really great hotel. Stylish and clean, with a real boutique hotel feel. In the middle of a busy downtown area, inside the hotel was relaxed and calming. The room was spacious, modern and extremely comfortable. The bathroom, including the Ruby Brown products, were amazing. All the staff we interacted with were really great; helpful and friendly. The gym is great too! Location is really central, short walk from 2 Metro stops (Peel and McGill) and a handful of Bixi (rental) bike docks. We’d stay here again, no question.
Great weekend stay at Le Germain. Excellent location within walking distance of all the sights, shopping and dining. We walked everywhere from Mont Royal to the Old Port. Newly decorated room in contemporary furnishings that is both modern and comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful with tour suggestions. Although there is no on site parking a car is not required if you are staying in the city. Lovely views of the city from rooms on the higher floors
Cosmopolitan Montreal is a nearby adventure from the centrefold boutique Hotel Le Germain. Close to the world-famous shopping of Rue Sainte-Catherine, the galleries and museums of rue Sherbrooke as well as other attractions and venues. The Hotel was recently renovated with a 'full monty' head-to-toe refresh enabling the hotel to boast updated rooms, lobby, restauants, meeting rooms, fitness centre plus 6 new floors on the roof of the building increasing the room inventory from 101 to 136. Add to that, the unveiling of a colourful mural on the entire frontal facade of the Le Germain. This piece is highlighted by bold stripes and patterns splashed with gobs of fushia, gold, turquoise and blue and makes for a great crayola ad. This art installation transforms Le Germain's dull facade into a new, exciting colourful facial expression..... ............eye popping and mind boggling. I opted for a room called 'The Round Bed' and yes ....the bed was round....very comfortable and with fabulous linens. My digs had lots of natural light & views with a loft-like architecture and a Zen-like vibe. I liked the cool bubble chair ....felt like getting in the captains chair of a small space craft and I appreciated the cozy reading area as well as the nifty modern technology items. The bath had a giant shower encased with a glass wall, rainforest shower-head, a spacious, sleek vanity and a mirror with a profile to match. Dining venues include: Le Boulevardier Restaurant, a brasserie which serves up a choice of local dishes featuring such items as freshly prepared fish, beef and chicken plates and Le Bar Flaneur, a street level bar that pipes out a triple play of gourmet oysters, champagne and cocktails. So, if you want to make the most of your stay in Montreal by staying at a boutique hotel that puts the best of the city within your reach with a conscientious stall ready to help sort out your adventurous needs......then try the.................Hotel Le Germain ...... .........a Colourful Facial Expression.…
