We stayed two nights in this overpriced, charmless and odd hotel. If you enjoy bare concrete ceilings, Ikea style furniture, water bottle weight plastic Walmart style lamps circa 1971, and it is a must for you to watch your travel companion shower or have them watch you shower (because the glass shower wall faces into the room) , enjoy doing your business in a tiny stall covered in 1966 Expos memorabilia with a sliding door that does not close completely, and a room that has lights that are like a puzzle to figure out how to use, this place will provide you with a perfect stay in Montreal. You may also like the postage size reception area and the dark lizard longe feel of the bar. Be prepared for the staff to stare at you blankly as if you asked them to explain an Einstein equation when you ask for a map of downtown Montreal. Good location though. We did think the electronic signal for whether you want the room cleaned to be cool. Oh, and if you figure out whether the green apples on the wall outside of the elevators are put there as decorations or for the guests to eat, please be sure to post that here. The room was clean and quiet and we liked the bath robes provided.

Dear NyMbc, We would like to thank you for sharing your opinion about your latest experience at our establishment. However, we are sincerely sorry to read that it was not necessarily a favorite for you. We can understand the fact that the choice of design of our rooms and our public spaces is not necessarily to everyone's taste. Regarding the shower, we have two types of rooms which offer a completely closed bathroom to provide a more intimate space for our guests who desire it. What we want more than anything is for our guests to feel comfortable in their room. Although I cannot change your perception of the aesthetics of our hotel, I can still assure you that the service received from my team at reception in no way represents our standards. We can assure you that follow-up will be carried out with them. My entire team should be able to respond to a various type of request and for those who are more niche, my concierge team is also present to help our guests. Concerning your question about the apples on each floor, they are indeed carefully placed on them for our guests to eat. It’s a tradition that has lasted for many years now. We are sorry for any confusion about them, we are currently working on a prototype note to counter any misunderstanding. However, we are happy to read that the location of the hotel appealed to you, I would not fail to pass on your kind words regarding the maintenance of your room. We sincerely hope you still enjoyed your stay in Montréal ! Best regards, Myriam Legault-Rioux, Guest Services Supervisor || Hôtel Le Germain Montréal

First time at this hotel and we’ll definitely return. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The hotel is an ultra stylish space in convenient location. Check-in and valet service was prompt. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, well appointed, and incredibly comfortable.

Great hotel! I loved this place and really would like to come back and stay here. We had a great room. We had two queen size beds and lots of space to move around. Perfect for three adult women. Right outside our door, there was a distilled water fountain where we could get water for the Nespresso machine in our room which also had really cute demitasse cups and silver saucers. The front desk staff was helpful both before and after our stay as I had questions that I called about before our arrival and when we checked out, they gave us directions from the front desk to the VIA RAIL station which was a 10 minute walk so we could head to Quebec City.

Stayed here two nights for work and thought it was great. It’s a beautiful and trendy boutique hotel and employees are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious but the service was very slow, something to be mindful of when travelling or working.

We have stayed at this hotel before and always enjoyed it; however, this time we were disappointed. Although the room is modern, clean and well equipped, it was too small. We later checked and it is only 28 m2. For the price, this was not good value for money. Valet parking is expensive at $40 per day, provided that nearby public parking is available for $15. We will stay somewhere else next ti.e we are in Montreal.

We indeed have different room categories with various configurations, and perhaps our Signature King or our Prestige ones would have suit you better. As per the parking price, we take in account your comment and will see about divers options. However, thank you for aknowledging our room design and cleanliness. We really hope you will reconsidered coming back to rediscover and experience what you loved about our hotel. Kindly, Dominique Harel, Director of Rooms / hôtel Le Germain Montreal

This hotel is really close to the main shopping street, so the location is excellent. It is not even a five minute's walk. One day we also walked to the Old town and it was about a 20-25 minutes walk. Not that far. The hotel itself is very fresh. The breakfast was indeed good and cleaning of the room, the staff and the bed was all excellent. Next door to the hotel is a café which was very cosy and with good sandwiches and coffee. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A great stay.

We have stayed here before and decided to be as close to McGill as possible as were taking our daughter to uni! It is a boutique hotel that doesn’t have near as many amenities as larger hotels. Really Tiny lobby and bar. Our room wasn’t ready at check in time. No real apology. We had driven from Toronto so it wasn’t cool. They did bring us a drink coupon. We didn’t feel like it then and thankfully the bar tender told us the bar isn’t open sundays so we have to use that day! No restaurant or bar open on sundays …?! No coffee or breakfast?? that is not ideal and for that reason alone we will now stay at the Fairmont which overall is a much better hotel esp with amenities.

For a tourist this is possibly the best Hotel in Montreal. We loved the mezzanine floor breakfast area with its huge window opening onto the street. Great breakfast. Lovely room. Centrally located making many trips walkable with the rest of the city accessed by a close by Metro station.

Trendy hotel in a great location, close to St. Catherine's and McGill. Check in was fast and easy, and I got a room on the 20th floor near the elevator, but there was no noise or bother. Room was spotless and very modern. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Small Nespresso machine, and milk capsules in the mini fridge. Room service was very fast. Meeting rooms were good and the business breakfasts and lunch were ok. WiFi was fast. Highlight was the water fountain near my room that dispensed cold filtered water - next time will take my Yeti mug! Cons: No movies to order, and a very limited room service menu. Also they did not refill the milk or water bottles in the mini fridge. They also took the extra room key I had accidentally left in the slot for lights by the door which was odd. Also the window to the shower that you can see through from the bed is very odd, though fine because I was alone. There was no window covering. Also there are a million light switches which was a bit strange. But ok.
