I first stayed at this lovely boutique hotel 10 years ago, and when I needed to book for an overnight visit to Montreal I booked it with confidence on the hope that it was still a great small hotel. Not only was it all I remembered but even more delightful. Warm and welcoming, it is clear from the moment you...

Stayed here for business and was very impressed with the hotel and personnel, who went out of their way to make my stay great. Only drawback would be the lack of bar scene but otherwise everything was superb. The rooms comfortable and everything designed conveniently. Would recommend and will return.

Le Germain is a fine hotel. Rooms good, breakfast excellent, staff extremely competent and friendly. However, there are two problems. The first is that the room has no drawers into which to put your clothes. There was a closet, a few shelves, and that was that. We've been in many, many hotels, but this defect was unique to Le Germain....

This group tends to have quirky, boutique style hotels in old buildings, retaining some of the rusticity of the original building while having very modern interiors. We stayed both here and in the sister property in Quebec and much preferred this one. It is up at the Mont Royal end of Mansfield so whilst that means a fair old walk...

The staff at Hotel Le Germain Montreal are superb! Very helpful in every way. They also made excellent recommendations for places to eat. The hotel is within walking distance to most everything in downtown Montreal. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

I’ve stayed at Le Germain Montreal several times and have always been pleased with the property and service. During my second visit to the Le Germain in Calgary the already excellent service was even better, and I had the same experience in Montreal after a couple of years absence. Michel, Maxine and the front desk staff were excellent. The hotel...

When you stay here, you are close to the subway, the visitor center, and restaurants. We really enjoy the breakfast buffet. The egg dishes were outstanding. The bed was very comfortable. Also there were plenty of wall plugs for recharging. We really had a wonderful four day stay. A great start to a 17 day Canadian Vacation.

We stayed here while attending a McGill reunion. It is convenient to the university, to museums and to shopping. The rooms are small but efficiently designed. Comfortable beds. The staff was wonderful, going out of their way to offer help. When asked a specific question, they either knew the answer or went right to the computer to find it. Breakfast,...

I have stayed in the Le Germain for two days in October and was very impressed. Starting with the service (door men very helpful and friendly, reception as well, restaurant also) and continuing with the design of the hotel and restaurant and the quality of the food, I found everything really first class..the room was big (toilet extra within the...

I stayed at Le Germain at the start of April, 2016 for one night. Check-in was quick and painless, as it should be. The room itself featured quite comfortable bed, with a shower (and bathroom) that was adjacent to it, separated by a glass wall. Blinds were present, if some degree of privacy was needed. This gave it a very...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
