Spent 3 days there, loved the lobby staff and the location and the room is very clean. Dog friendly as well so my puppy had a great vacation with us. Very nice pool but the hot tub was broken which was too bad... We went twice for the breakfast there, it was expensive but really good food and services. One...

This hotel has clean, modern rooms that span the upper levels of a large building. Our room wasn't quite ready upon arrival and when it became ready we were upgraded to have lounge access included, which was quite a nice perk. Early evening snacks, beverages throughout the day and full breakfast was available. The selection of snacks was broad (from...

The Bonaventure Hotel is like staying in the Adirondacks, while in the Center of Montreal. So convenient to all of Montreal either walking or by subway located in the building. During the showers at the time if the FIFA Women's Soccer Semi finals, we took the subway from the hotel to the Olympic stadium without having to use an umbrella....

What impresses me about this hotel is that it's so close to Gare Central. Taking the train and wanting to shop is a breeze because everything is so close. You don't even have to go outside! The hotel itself is good. Clean and good wi-fi...that's all you can ask for.

I only stayed one night at the Hotel Bonaventure but I wish I could have stayed longer. The rooms were spacious and clean. The pool, gardens and waterfalls were beautiful. It was a bit of a walk to reach the historic area but a few blocks away from shopping area and across the street from the train station.

I loved the hotel. Excellent staff. Juan at the front desk was simply the best. The room is super clean. Big enough for four. Staff is cordial, responsive and easy to talk to. Excellent location and about a 10 minute walk to downtown Montreal and Vieux port. You don't need a car to enjoy the city. Great restaurants. I loved...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Nice rooms, clean, good service, free breakfast, rooftop pool. Location gives access to great tourist spots such as Old Montreal, Chinatown and more. No need to ever use your car. The Metro and the Underground City are right there.

The location of the hotel isn't far from everything. For the price it was worth the short walk it took us to get to main attractions. The pool was a cool bonus. The pictures do make it look nicer than in person. The hotel could sue some updating. Overall an average experience. Worth the decent rate we paid and location.

While the dated decor may bother some, we found it added to the charm of this hotel. We appreciated the heated pool and rooftop gardens. You can find hotels more centrally located, but this one is just a few blocks from St. Catherine Street and Museum of Contemporary Art. We appreciated the reasonably-priced valet parking with in and out privileges.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
