Classic high-quality hotel with usual amenities. What stood out was probably by far the best hotel restaurant I have ever experienced - the wonderful "Osco's" with its French-Provencale cuisine. Try the prix fixe "Table d'Hote" which includes soup or salad, two entrees, coffee and dessert for only $39 (Canadian dollars, works out to an even better $35 or so U.S.).

The Intercontinental Hotel in Montreal is ideally located between the new city center and Old Town Montreal. In fact, if you go out the main front entrance of the Hotel you are in the modern city center, only a few blocks from St. Catherine Street, and if you go out the back door, you are officially in Old Town Montreal... In my opinion Hilton hotels and resorts are much better than Presidente Intercontinental in Mexico and USA. Montreal/Canada hotels have so many hidden taxes. I/my company paid $250/night and it was not worth it. Breakfast buffet was $30. However, hotel is located in downtown. After i switched from small, dark and depressing room to front facing room then i started... More

The Intercontinental room was very well appointed and comfortable. Disappointments included surprisingly limited cable TV choices. The housekeeping was also very late in arriving -- 4:55 p.m. on one day. I did call on subsequent days requesting earlier service and they complied.

I go to Montreal almost every month and I often stay at this hotel. Close to the underground, St. Catherine Street and a lot of nice restaurants. Try to book corner rooms as they give you a fantastic view of the city - beautiful rooms, immaculate bathrooms. I get access to the executive lounge where you can have continental breakfast... More

2 nights here in January 2014. Location of the hotel is great, it is a short walk from the train station where the Adirondack train from NYC stop. It is near the main shopping district as well as the market and the ice skating park, also a short cab ride from the nightlife district. On arrival the agent upgraded our... More

This hotel is in a great location for a long weekend visit to Montreal. Just on the edge of Old Montreal and conveniently located over top of a connector to the Underground City and the metro system. I stayed for 3 nights at the Intercontinental in Montreal. The hotel is pretty standard business fare - good large clean rooms with all the normal accessories. Bed was excellent (good mattress). Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
