This is an excellent modern hotel centrally located in Montreal. Excellent bar. Access to the Metro and underground (this is important!). Very close to the Bell Centre for those interested in hockey (Montreal Canadiens), near the Montreal Cathedral, and next door to the train station. It is not inexpensive. But if price is not a major consideration, I strongly recommend...

Beds were SUPER COMFORTABLE.. Staff was very friendly.. The concierge was very helpful and pleasant in printing hockey tickets for us and answering questions.. Peter, the valet made us feel at home and helped with resturant and tour suggestions. I would highly recommend this hotel.” Best night's sleep I've had in a long time!

Enjoy staying here, bar is fun, breakfast is good, rooms are clean and classic. Very friendly staff. Wifi is excellent. Bed is comfortable. Only fault is the shower head, it is too low. I would stay here again.

We stayed here two nights in March 2017. The room was clean, and all the staff was friendly. The location can't be beat. It's right downtown, on Rue Peel, close to Peel Station and the metro lines. I definitely recommend it.

Nice hotel with a great view of the city. The service was good and it was within walking distance from restaurants and some of the city sites. It has a nice restaurant inside of the hotel also. We had no problem with English, as usual.

Stayed at this hotel March 7th and 8th. The hotel was easy to get to and parking was simple. When we arrived the doorman/valet allowed us to park in the Valet spot to check in and then we just moved the car ourselves to the parking garage as we were leaving it for 2 days. Self parking was $25/day and...

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain Mar 17 and 18th. We arrived early which was no problem for the reception staff as they had a room ready for us. And what a room!....1302 was spacious, clean, incredibly comfortable King size bed, but most of all was the view. The room overlooked the city and what a...

Although the hotel may need a bit of sprucing up, it still does the job. This is by far the most quiet hotel I have ever been to. The service was very good. Location was ideal. Metro is located one floor down from the hotel. Pool and fitness room was very well kept. Starbucks in the hotel = bonus. Overall,...

Stayed for one night for a Bell Centre show. We were right across from the elevators, which I was correct to be apprehensive about (we were there for one night and my friend did not want to deal with switching rooms, so it was fine for us). However, there was a big hockey tournament going on, which caused for some...

Marriott Chateau Champlain is central to shopping, dining, Centre Bell (NHL, concerts); indoor access to the underground mall system. We have been staying here for years. the building is getting a bit run down, but always Marriott quality as far as cleanliness and comfortable bedding. Ask for a room facing the front; city/mount Royal view. great view on this side.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
