Comfortable and well located hotel. However, as a group of business professionals who were in Montreal for a few days, the Concierge Lounge is far below usual and customary offerings. Virtually nothing hot except coffee is served at breakfast. Breakfast breads and muffins was about it and fresh fruit. A platter of cold cuts and that is about it. There...

Hello Walt B - as the manager responsible for the lounge, your feedback is understandable. We agree. Our lounge does not offer as much as many of our sister hotels. I am sorry you feel we are dogging the issue. I assure you we are not. Indeed the solutions may seem to be very simple. I know we will find...

1st time at this Marriott, everything was just great, room was clean, service was great, staff friendly and helpful. The Bell Centre was a 2 minute walk, The entrance to the Underground City was just a elevator ride down one floor, easy access to everything.

Hotel was close to the Montreal Forum. We stayed to watch a hockey. Hotel was clean and the view of the city was excellent. Easy walk to train and subway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

If your in town to catch a game or a show it's really the place to be, great location and very walkable from there! The only flaw is it a 50 year old building and its starting to show, service and staff great but building can use a little love, great price point for our stay.

The location is fantastic. You can get on the subway without ever going outside. It's a short subway ride to all of Montreal's top destinations. The building itself is well maintained, rooms were clean but in need of some upgrades due to age. Staff were friendly and helpful, the concierge in the lobby can help make any arrangements. Price was...

As others have said the hotel is centrally located. It is a big advantage being directly above the Bonaventure station. As a Rewards member I travel a lot and stay almost exclusively at Marriott Hotels. The Chateau Champlain has one of the more friendly front desk, housekeeping, and concierge lounge staff. The fitness center is typical for a large hotel....

Hello Benson50 - thank you for your review. Really appreciate your kind words regarding our staff - this means a great deal to us. As for our lounge offering, indeed with the popularity of our hotel with valued reward members such as yourself, the lounge size has it's limitations. Your notes on our breakfast offering in the lounge are important...

Stayed Feb 18th - 20th. It was a last minute surprise trip to my husband for our wedding anniversary. The hotel itself is nice, rooms a little small but they have floor to ceiling window which was the saving grace....making the room seem larger. The best thing, as others have mentioned, is the location being so close to the train...

That's a long review title, but it's true. The property was designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright protege to coincide with Expo 67. We loved the historical details like the big, curved windows in each room (drafty as they were). The room bathroom and closet layout was a little odd too, but the centre ice location (no pun intended with...

The hotel has all the basics and the comfortable beds you expect in a Marriott. The front desk is efficient and the bar staff were good and remembered your order from one day to the next. Good choice at breakfast although it would be nice to have some daylight especially in a city where you have to spend so much...

Functional and clean. Service was very polite and nice. Rooms were basic - no great upgrades at property. The concierge lounge was a bit dated and small - food / snack options were a bit limited at breakfast and evening. It was not a bad property - just nothing special or to pick as a destination.

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
