I'm from Montreal but had some friends coming from out of town that wanted to stay downtown so we stayed at the Fairmont for the night, wonderful place. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't rate the food but I found the beds comfortable, nice rooms, big tv. I enjoyed the hot tub downstairs and that the hotel...

On business spent four days in a conference and we were very impressed. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Somewhat formal and we liked every bit of it. It's big and runs very well. Had numerous meals and one was better than the next

Conveniently located, steps from the VIA rail station and down town Montreal this hotel/resort has wonderful warm staff. The rooms while smaller are well appointed, bright and airy. Checking in and out was smooth and extremely efficient.

This hotel is extreemly well located if you are taking the train. WE took a suite for 250$ which is not expensive in my experience. In room breakfast was a little disappointing but ok. The staff are very helpful and friendly. excellent chambermaid service and we were high maintenance.

I stayed at the Queen E for work. My boss and coworkers love it. I'm not really sure why. I travel a lot and have been to really simple places that were outstanding and really nice places that weren't worth the hype. For me, the Queen E just isn't remarkable. It doesn't make me excited to visit Montreal and I...

Since there were 7 of us going to Montreal to celebrate "this is 40"...we thought we would treat ourselves and book an executive suite because of the extra perks we were told we would receive. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR STAY! Upon checking in, the concierge greeted us with a warm familiar welcome, consistent with Fairmont hotels. We were given a friendly 'tour' if our room by the bellhop, had a friendly conversation with chambermaid. Dinner was exquisite at the 'Montrealais' restaurant. Our waiter Johnny from Venezuela was professional, efficient and charming. We had to...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
