We travelled to Montreal & Quebec to host my aunt came from Japan Oct. 2012. Enjoy this trip very much. Beautiful city attractions, fall color changes. We had 2 night stay in this B&B hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We booked 2 rooms, but they offered a townhouse. The living area is so spacious, everything is very...

I am shocked this B&B is listed so low on the rankings, it is an absolutely stellar place to stay, and I can't recommend it highly enough! I have stayed there at least 6 times, in many different rooms. Every one has been spotless and charming, and every stay has been a pure delight. The decor blends clean modern styles...

Stayed there 3 nights this past week. The staff was very friendly and kind. I stayed in a standard room(703) the first night and surprised my girlfriend with a suite(706) the last two nights. The staff was great and accommodating when it came to changing rooms, and they made sure to keep everything hush-hush so my girlfriend would not find...

After reading several reviews and getting recommendations from friends I decided to book the hotel for a weekend getaway for my boyfriend and I. We arrived early for check-in so were told that if we left our luggage at the front desk it would be delivered to our room later in the day. So my bf and I decided to...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and look forward to staying here again. Our room was a nice large room with King bed, jacuzzi tub, and funky artwork. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. We found the location to be very convenient, close to the metro and a close walk to Crescent Avenue...

This B&B was recommended to us by the owners of a Vermont B&B. So glad they did! This inn is in the heart of Montreal, but on a tiny little backstreet. The Metro is steps away and the hot and trendy nightspots are a short walk away. Our suite was incredible! A large four-poster bed, draped in white....two fireplaces, a...

This is an amazing bed and breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It is in downtown Montreal. In the middle of it all but not on a busy street. Yes, the location is on a quiet "off" street of downtown but this means your sleep is better and "the middle of it all" is a five minute walk away....

We stayed there for only 2 nights, in the 706 suite on the first floor in rue Argyle, next door to the building where breakfast is served. The suite was very spacious; it was composed by 2 rooms, one with a double bed and closet, and the other - a living room - with an extra bed, table, chairs, a...

Make sure you stand at their reception entrance and not the town house they rent out, like we did, wondering if/when anybody will answer the door ;-) Metro station a few meters from the front door. And the airport bus up the road. Both incredibly handy. We got upgraded to a different room (we were supposed to have the one...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
