A home away from home. Beautiful appartments in the heart of Montreal. Walking distance to all major attractions. But most important, a welcoming host family who goes out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. The home-made chocolates, bath salt, and stylishly filled refridgerator add to the charm of the rooms. A highly recommended place to sejourn while in...

This is almost second home! I found this special B&B by chance in August 2010, and ever since we always come back. Nicer than staying in a hotel room. You have a well-equiped kitchen, with lots of pots and pans. You can cook your own meal. Breakfast is a meal to look forward to, with croissants and pains au chocolat,...

A warm welcome from Sandrine and Vincent family when I arrived with my daughter to stay at Castel Durocher for 3 nights to visit my son who is studying in McGill Universsity. Castel Durocher is located downtown and close to all facilities we need, metro, bus, restaurants, shops and McGill University. Thanks to Sandrine and Vincent, we stayed in the...

My husband and I have travelled a great deal all over the world and we both agree that we have never met better hosts or being as delighted to arrive somewhere (except perhaps our honeymoon in Mauritius!). We were lucky enough to be travelling round the US and Canada for a month with our 20 month old son and arrived...

We stayed in the Suite Victoria for 11 days and found the apartment to be very comfortable and spacious. The video does not indicate how much space there is particularly in the living room/dining room. Vincent and Sandrine were charming hosts. We have stayed in a number of apartments in European cities and very few owners provide bathroom toiletries or...

From the moment you arrive you are greeted with welcoming flowers and very friendly, accommodating hosts that will cater to your every need. If it's not there,.simply ask and you shall receive. It is located downtown close to metro, shopping, major hotels and McGill University. Le Castel is much more comfortable than a hotel as you also have the convenience...

Lovely, spacious apartment; reasonably priced; terrific location near McGill; and very nice hosts. We couldn't have found a better place for our family (couple with teenager). So much better than hotel rooms. The next time we visit Montreal, we will definitely stay again at the Castel Durocher.

I can see how this place would be ideal for some travelers for a short stay, but we stayed over a week and were very uncomfortable. Before you book, you should see if any of the following issues will trouble you: The primary difficulty during our stay was heat. It was summer and temps were in the 80s. The front...

Hi, we were quite surprise to see this review. We contacted the author right away through the TripAdvisor site to explain to her that we felt extremely sad about this. We didn't hear back from her, unfortunately. I hope she will get back to us at some point. Why didn't she say anything during her stay? Why did she wait...

Our visit at Castel Durocher was outstanding from beginning to end. Vincent is a charming host. The apartment was immaculate and well appointed. Every detail is looked after. We came prepared but didn't need to be - there was food in the fridge, bakery items for breakfast and flowers. On top of it all the apartment is steps from McGill...

We cancelled our Holiday Inn reservation after finding this Gem; stayed in the "top suite" 2 bedroom apartment for an extended weekend visit. My friends daughter, a student at McGill was able to stay with us in the suite and It was a very nice get together place for everyone. Lots of room, great balconies, fantastic location in the middle...

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.

“We only know about the Stained Glass room, which features 2 bedrooms: one queen bed in one, and two doubles in the other. If you have more than one tall person in your group, talk to Sandrine and Vincent about sleep accommodations. I'm 6'2" and my feet hung well over the end of the double bed.”
