Location is alright. Its about a 30 mins walk to old town if you enjoy walking in the city. Close to Art Museum. The restaurant was of low quality. The bed were a bit on firm side, rooms were clean, but weren't cleaned daily, had to request room be cleaned was only done 2 times on a five day period....

This is the type of hotel for a younger crowd. Very nice, clean hotel. Would not recommend it if you are looking for a QUIET place for your family but forsure a good place to stay with a few friends. Perfect location, in walking distance of nearly everything. Decent place for the cheap pricing.

I wasn't sure what to expect when reading the mixed reviews. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable and looked modern enough. Good sized TV with working ac/heat. Hotel staff were helpful when checking in and out. Restaurant at the hotel didn't have the best food, but it was a good price and they were super nice and stay opened longer...

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, however, when we checked in and got to our room it had not been cleaned. There was still trash in the room and the beds were not made. They put us in a new room that was nicer and larger, but there were still dirty towels under the bed.... which led...

I don't know if I spelled his name correctly (sorry), but he worked at the front desk and he made checking in go super smoothly. This was a new place for us, but he was very warm, welcoming, and professional. Definitely recommended! We got a bottle of wine with our room and he made sure that we were all taken...

This is the second time we've stayed at hotel espresso, both times to attend games at the bell centre. I've found this to be the best rate available right in downtown. It's just a 2 minute walk to st. Catherine st. Bishop st and crescent st are both within 10 minutes. The bell centre is also less than 10 minutes...

Positives: very good location in terms of walking to shops, restaurants, bars. Hotel staff was extremely nice and friendly. Negatives: Photos on hotel booking sites must have been taken some years ago - the property is much more sketchy and rundown than the photos convey. There were many people hanging around outside and in the lobby that do not appear...

I will not be staying at this hotel a second time. The outside of the building looked run down and not what you would expect for a hotel that charges $200 per night!! The hallway leading to our room looked like it had not been vacuumed in days. The room was outdated and nothing like their website photos, the beds...

The exterior does not look very appealing, but inside we had a nice check-in at the reception. Lobby is small but nice. Staff is helpful and friendly. You can park your car in the parking lot next to the hotel. The room is pretty large, renovated so it looks fairly modern. Bathroom still looks a bit more old-fashioned, apart from...

Driving up to the hotel it has an older look with some newer signage. I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in but I was pleasantly surprised. The desk staff for our entire stay was excellent. They were friendly, knowledgable, and quick to make sure you were having a good stay. The lobby has been renovated and is...

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
