Sonder was amazing! I was worried about the reviews stating about the nightclub but we didn’t hear it at all. We had a small issue which was resolved instantly and that was a building issue rather than the apartment.

There was washing machine capsules and dishwasher stuff. Coffee and tea making facilities also.

Bed was super comfy and the apartment is within walking distance to everything. We were in room 303 and have no complaints. Would definitely recommend.

Mostly good things to say about the property...it was clean, well maintained and quiet.

The deck for the penthouse is HUGE so good weather allowing its worth the extra cost.

The bedrooms were great but the sleeper sofa was not large enough for the 2 adult men who we had in our group to sleep there (it would have been fine for kids, but not 2 adults). I was the host of this trip and pretty disappointed that one one my family members had to sleep on the floor. A larger, higher quality sofa would have been appreciated.

This property is separated from others on all surfaces except the floor (which is concrete) so we never heard a peep from anyone. The city street below was also much more quiet than I would have expected for a city location.

There is good food in easy walking distances bit I wish that I had checked out the section of the subterranean mall across the street at the international commerce center - there was a bagel place I did not find until the last day which I wish I had known of sooner. Speaking of which: this feature of the city is rather impressive. Ive seen some shopping in other city's metro stops, but Montreals underground shopping connected to the metro stops is really extensive and surely worth a look.

The kitchen was large enough and well enough stocked to make large family meals. The living area of the property is maybe a little smaller than I perceived from the photos but workable.

The rug in the main area was pretty but shed fibers enough create an endless mess and covered the clothing of anyone who sat on the floor.

In the European style, there were no washcloths. One of our group really wanted one so we had to buy one on a shopping excursion.

The Notre Dame Basilica is an easy walk and the whole square is charming and full of lovely shops/dining. The light show at the Basilica is worth the time and cost but tried to go to Mass there on Sunday morning and was turned away (only locals allowed). Granted this is still during the pandemic but disappointing.

The electronic lock on the door was a little fussy...it took me about 5 tries to get it right...input code, then the check mark then pause (one, two) then turn the handle.

I like that Sonder is an established business so in the future, I will be less fearful at the front end of the trip that something goofy will happen with the rental. That alone will likely influence me to rent from them again.

Very spacious (more than I needed, as a single occupant, for a short stay), clean, close to Old Montreal port. Quiet (stay was late November, not during popular summertime; a white-noise generator on the radio is provided!). Sparsely furnished, but comfortable. Bathroom supplies adequate. Checking in was easy. No need to call support. Definitely will stay again, and highly recommended!

A few days before arriving they sent me a email to upgrade, i figured i would treat myself so I did.
Also asked them not to put me on side of street close to nightclub downstairs .
When i arrived they had put me in my first room category and on fifth floor but on side of nightclub. The bass of the
Music of nightclub goes all the way up until 3 am. The solution sonder gives is a pair of cheap earplugs which dont filter out mire than 30%. Had to use my headphones with music not hear the bass
Next day they moved me to my upgraded room. After a few days the ac started leaking.
Since there is no one on site you can only comunícate through the sonder chat and this can take time.
They apologized for leak asked me not to use it and that they would fix next day.
Next day i was out all day when i came back nothing fixed!
Again use the chat they moved me again and they said that it would be a no extra cost! Hahaha like they were doing me a favor!
After a few days in next room ac started leaking also! It was not so bad so i just put a towel on floor
The room itself is nice, good amenities. Location is great except for night club!
The problem here is the customer service. You pay the same price a other loft type hotels which have operations team
Onsite to resolve issues. Sonder does not have anyone.
They say that Sonder is a better way to stay, must be for them as it is cheaper not to have staff onsite.
I have been in hotel industry for 35 years and understand that there are maintenance issues in all hotels.
What makes the difference is the customer service, how you recover the guest and the follow up.
In this case it was below par.

The location of this building is great. It’s really close to Old Port with countless restaurants in the area to choose from. The location was the only great point of this stay.
On arrival, we were sent conflicting door codes from the welcome email and the app. Neither worked. Sonder doesn’t have a phone number to call or any persons on site in the building. You are forced to use a texting app, which they are responsive on it’s just frustrating when you want to talk to a person and that’s not an option.

The biggest problem with this unit for us was cleanliness. It appears as though the cleaning teams hit the surfaces but pay no attention to the details. The shower curtain was stained brown on the bottom from hard water stains (college energy) and it took two days to replace with a long series of miscommunications from Sonder. It should have been thrown out before we arrived. There was a giant red wine stain on the wall, someone else’s hairs in the tub and on table surfaces, misc. splatters on the picture frames and the walls were as much scuffs as paint. Everyone knows coming into these units that they are shared spaces, but the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail made you very aware that this was used by other people and frankly was an uncomfortable environment to be in. We asked for a reclean right away when we first saw the space. It tools two days and again they just hit the surfaces. If I had been staying longer I would have just cleaned it myself. This is extra ironic when they don’t disclose an additional cleaning fee until you book. What that goes towards is a mystery to me.

The actual amenities within the unit are junky. You can tell these guys are flipping units on the cheap. All the cookware and furniture is extremely inexpensive and heavily used. Generally everything lacks warmth and has an ‘almost finished’ vibe.
We were fortunate to only have to deal with this one night, but I can only imagine the frustration for guests staying longer - there was some type of mechanical roof top unit that sounded like literal freight train. You couldn’t hear the person speaking next to you in normal tone when it was running, even with the windows closed. With the windows open, start shouting in the same room.
I wouldn’t suggest staying here. There are tons of other accommodations in the area and this isn’t exactly a price competitive option to edge it out. Not worth it.

Our two couples rented an AirBnB here for 5 nights on the top floor. The street location is no further than a 15 minute walk from anywhere in the Old Town of Montreal. It's across the street from an entrance to Underground Montreal, the Metro, and a great Montreal bagel shop (yes - they are better than NYC bagels & New Yorkers need to get over it). So many excellent restaurants only a short walk away.
The apartment was "modern spartan" or "minimalist" in decoration. Clean. The owners don't live there and they skimp a bit on furnishing it. There were the minimum of things to cook with and everything was pretty cheap. You need to buy and bring with you everything or anything you would want to eat or cook with.
There is no parking with the apartment. On-street parking is limited during the week to only folks with neighborhood permits. There is no TV. You need to log yourself into a Chromecast-compatible display and use your own accounts if you want to watch anything.
Basically, the place is a very convenient "base of operations" for you to work from when you want to visit old Montreal.
We had the 'penthouse'. The utilities on the roof (air conditioners, etc.) were so loud that the owners provided ear plugs in the bedrooms.

I booked three apartments in Montreal with Sonder, two one-bedroom apartment on Rue Saint Jacques near Victoria Square and a two bedroom apartment in Griffintown on Rue Richmond. A co worker and I stayed in the one bedroom units and a group of graduate students stayed in the two bedroom unit. We were in Montreal for a large academic conference and close in hotels to the conference venue were very pricey. The Sonder units were far cheaper and convenient.

In reading some reviews from other guest, I was concerned that ambient street noise, especially at night, might be a problem. It wasn’t. No one in our group had any complaints about noise or anything else. The units were clean, well-maintained, and quite comfortable. The battery on the keypad for locking/unlocking the door at the apartment I was staying in was low (the keypad indicated this but it still functioned fine). I notified Sonder via their iPhone app and a new battery was installed within an hour. One of the students inadvertently left a laptop behind in the apartment when checking out and Sonder worked with us to retrieve it without any hassles.

Great experience. I’d use Sonder again and recommend them without hesitation.

Location is great. Walking distance from all attractions. Fully equipped kitchen, they even leave you salt and pepper, as well as mini italian olive oil bottles, so you don't have to spend money on that. They also leave you everything you need for using the dishwasher and washing machine.
It is very important you download the Sonder app prior to your arrival, as you'll find there your access codes, and all the manuals of the appliances in case you don't know how to use them.
All appliances and decoration were brand new.
Room was very clean at check in
Overall good experience.

Don't expect a front desk reception at this Montreal unit, however for the most part the contact free check-in was easy, once we had an agent on the line to remotely update the front door lock mechanism. The location is ideal, on the edge of Old Montreal with fantastic nearby restaurants and coffee shops, check out Crew Collective & Cafe in the heritage bank next door. The unit is well appointed with full kitchen, wide screen TV (Google TV only), and Old Montreal flair.

I stayed in a very clean and large 2 bedroom on the fourth floor for 4 nights in Feb. The bed was VERY VERY comfortable as well as the linens. The washer and drier was a must as I packed light. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with utensils, coffee maker and toaster with a huge full-size fridge. This place would be good for a 4-5 person family with children. The location was PERFECT. I was able to walk everywhere and jump on the metro which was a 4 min walk to explore further. The nicest touch was the noise machine in each room to help settle for the night.

I would stay here again. I didn't ask/enquire but slippers and a housecoat would have made this a luxury although the suite was user temperature controlled so very comfortable. My favorite part was the code secured building and suite so I didn't have to remember a key which is peace of mind when travelling alone.
