Whether you’re a newcomer or lifelong visitor, Montreal wows each time. Once a printing factory, the industrial windows and tall ceilings at Le Guerin embrace its roots in full swing. Enjoy the perks of an apartment with amenities like fully equipped kitchens and en-suite laundry. If the office keeps calling, take advantage of the workspace lounge with its high-speed WiFi. Immerse yourself in the buzz of Saint Denis Street. Browse rare records at L’Oblique. Splurge on vintage jewelry at Les Folles Alliees. For a delicious brunch spot, we recommend carrot pancakes at L’Avenue. Say ‘Au Revoir’ to your routine and ‘Bonjour’ to adventure when you stay at Le Guerin.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Excellent location. Stayed in a studio on the fourth floor. Listing says queen bed but it’s really more of a double. Spacious and well-stocked. Little kitchen has everything you need, including pots/pans, dishes, glassware, microwave and dishwasher.
Couch is very comfortable and I had a big window with a view of mont royal. I got a great rate given the time of year. I read lots of reviews about noise so packed a white noise machine (iPhone also has one fyi) and didn’t have any issues. WiFi can be pretty finicky but someone came within 15 min to fix.
I’d definitely stay here again though probably not in the summer when rowdier tourists are likely.

I didn’t quite realize what Sonder was until I stayed here. Its basically a cross between a hotel and airbnb (there’s no front desk or daily cleaning service but you get your own studio apartment and the place is very clean and well stocked). The location was superb with the subway, bus and tons of food options within walking distance. I highly suggest you get the app (even if you booked through airbnb like I did) because everything is laid out very clearly on there. The app acts as an electronic key to get into the building and room which made it easy and felt very safe. The app also has food suggestions and clear directions on how to check in and out. It also makes it very easy to reach out to the company if need to or even order a cleaning service. The place itself was very clean and stylish and up to date. My one complaint is that THE INTERNET IS TERRIBLE. I was just on vacation so it wasn’t a huge deal, but if I were planning to stay long term and work here this internet would NOT HAVE CUT IT. I could barely even stream tv.

We had a superior one-bedroom apartment, and our friend who we were traveling with had booked a studio. We were so very impressed with the apartment 307. The only negative I could possibly say was the lack of shelves/drawers and we felt we were living out of our suitcase because of that. My friends negative was he didn’t like the ground floor location because he felt too exposed to the sidewalk traffic. Our apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and squeaky clean. We booked directly with Sonder and they were very clear that early checkin was “request only”. At the time of booking, I requested early check in. The evening before check in, around 6 o’clock, I received an email with a link to pay the $25 fee for early checkin . We were more than happy to pay it to be guaranteed to be able to get in to our accommodations. We had gotten off a cruise ship and our 10:30am checkin was approved. We called customer service on two occasions and both issues were resolved quickly . (Both were cases where we overlooked the obvious..we felt a bit silly). There were many restaurants and cafes in the area and the apartments were right off the pedestrian thoroughfare of Mt.Royal. It’s walking distance to Mt.Royal Park, there are several grocery stores within a 2-4 block radius, along with a pharmacy and even a dollar store. Our friends from the cruise had come up to see the apartment and they were so impressed that they were going to book the Chicago location for their upcoming trip.

Room smells unbearably like sewage and their customer service is not useful. No phone or direct support only chat that restarts every few minutes with a new representative that needs to reread the whole conversation and start from scratch midway through your messaging and issue. Took over 1 hour of chat for them to ask if we had tried air freshener.
They offered a free cleaning since it isn’t included with any length of stay even if several weeks. Cleaning team didn’t enter the room, just left sheets wrapped in plastic wrap in the hall in front of the door.
Toilet seat wasn’t installed when we got to the room, it was just placed on the toilet and loose. Took them 48hrs to come install it.
This is my second stay here after enjoying the first one, but it’s the exact opposite experience.
Also, they offer their rooms for cheaper on Airbnb than on their own site or hotel booking sites.

The room horrible a long hallway and all the rest uncomfortable. Extremely small closet that you can not hang the dresses, very small space, space deficit to place clothes shoes. The TV in a place impossible to visualize lying in bed also not sitting in the two single armchairs. There is humidity so there are moisture bugs.. Spiders, too. The headboard of the bed must remove that piece that must collect all kinds of dirt. AC does not work on days of unbearable heat. Best location, bakery below and restaurant offerings around. For the price I would not stay again in a place that you can not put clothes and that the small space, is overwhelming.

We had a great experience at the Sonder apartments in Montreal. Everything was clean and well stocked for our arrival. The location is close to many restaurants and attractions (Schwartz deli is within walking distance) and a 3 minute walk to the nearest subway station for easy transportation. They were also able to help us out with accommodation when our flight was rebooked to the following day.

Great location right in the heart of the plateau. We had a single bedroom apartment that was large and comfortable. Kitchen was well provisioned if you want to cook with a dishwasher. The bathroom had a huge shower and the washer and dryer were new. Very clean both in the apartment and building generally. I messaged via the Sonder app a few times with very quick responses and delivery of coffee pods came very quickly. I was very impressed given its a self check-in and out building. It was very useful to have the luggage store access up until the evening of our checkout.

This place was simply put... outstanding. I had a one bedroom that was roomy, very clean, had only the necessary dishes, cookware, pieces of furniture, etc. The building was secure with an elevator and back up supplies... just in case. As you can see from the pictures... no false advertising. I will be looking for Sonder rentals before any other search for all my upcoming trips. I am already booking our next stay in Montreal!

Sonder is a cross between AirBNB and a hotel. Their edge over an AirBnB is luggage storage and quick response to queries and requests. Download their app and it’s easy to manage your stay, so this is not for everyone. We had no problems with check-in but spotted an American family struggling and they spent a while on the phone. My requests sent via their app’s message function were responded in minutes. However, don’t expect hotel standards. My gripe is their bed was not as comfortable as a hotel’s and the pillows were too soft. My request for an additional pillow was not acceded to. This property rates a 3 inspite of its attractive location as the furnishings looked a bit tired and the lounge area wasn’t very clean. Upon arrival, we noticed that the common toilet wasn’t clean. Otherwise, I’ pleased with the spaciousness of my unit, ample storage, laundry facilities and bright lighting. There’s a cafe just next to the main entrance and the neighbourhood is quite vibrant. Sonder is located on a side street so it’s quite quiet.

Excellent location, very walkable, but also accessible to the metro, taxis, Ubers, etc. The entrance to the building is very easy to find but also tucked away so you don’t feel like you’re walking into a big hotel waving an “I’m a tourist!!!” flag, you feel like a local. I was in one of the one bedroom units and it was very clean, nicely renovated, the kitchen and bathroom were excellent, great shower. The one thing was that it didn’t have a couch, just two small armchairs, which I didn’t realize as the pictures show rooms with couches. It would have been nice to have that in the room description. Other than that, very comfortable space, had all the necessities, fantastic neighbourhood. Feel totally safe as a woman travelling alone.
