We're here for a wedding weekend. Staff are friendly. Restaurant on main floor is a plus. Location is great. Right in the centre of Old Montreal. Close to other eateries. Will stay here again in the future

The hotel is located right at the beginning of Saint Paul Street, the main tourist street of old town Montreal, perfect place to begin a stroll. The hotel is hip and attract both a Canadian and international crowd. An added bonus is that the restaurant in the hotel is very good.

A very accommodating hotel, well located and convenient. The rooms are very clean, available parking close by and staff are friendly, helpful and the lounge is warm and inviting. Definitely a very cost effective solution combining a European charm, a friendly atmosphere and a business focus.

Fresh and with cool ambiance. Modern looking, ideal for a smart and young business traveller or for a couple looking for a getaway weekend. Didn't have dinner, just drinks and breakfast. All great, I'll be back.

limited gym equipment, stairway and passageways - trendy lighting but dark - need to take extra care on stairs, bad smell in bathroom, very limited breakfast options, location good and staff very helpful

Very convenient. In old town, near downtown. Plenty of cafes, jean coutu, taxi stop and metro. Staff is friendly and responsive. Bathroom and room could use a little freshing up. Walls and tile are a bit dinged. But overall clean and worth the price.

Great location for the hotel. On a quiet, but major road, you have unhindered access to all the best places in Montreal. You're also immediately within Old Montreal and a ridiculous number of gorgeous restaurants. But, what's best is that you're not inundated with tourists around the hotel. You have proximity but also space. The same goes for the hotel...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel St. Paul in September, 2016 and felt that the location of the hotel was quite good (we walked and took local transit everywhere), but felt that the decor of the hotel was a bit rough around the edges for the price. We also felt that, while the staff was generally friendly enough,...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
