Detailed Reviews
Stayed at this hotel prior to taking a cruise that left from the Port of Montreal. The hotel's location is excellent for exploring Old Town Montreal; you're basically IN IT! It is surrounded by many restaurants and shops and the staff can make loads of recommendations. It is also a convenient location to the Port. Without having to haul luggage for a cruise, the walk to the Port would be but a leisurely stroll in minutes.
The hotel staff, from Front Desk Reception to the Concierge(s) to the wait staff in the restaurant were very professional, friendly, knowledgable, and efficient.
The fresh breakfasts (which were Included in our rate) were large and delicious, served in a pleasant dining room that is open and airy, yet intimate and relaxing. There is also a full bar in the hotel.
The recently renovated room itself was quite large (as you can see from the many room pictures shown at the site) and nicely furnished. There was an espresso machine, a teapot, minibar and other nice amenities. Even the bath products (e.g. body wash, shampoo, etc) are L'Occitane; a classy touch.
The Only Con that I could mention...and it is certainly NOT the fault of the hotel, is that at the time (and for some time to come given the extent of it) there is quite a bit of heavy street construction directly around the hotel (and in Old Town, in general) making some navigation (both on foot and by vehicle) a bit dicey at times. However we didn't find it all that distracting or disturbing to our stay. Just be aware it's there.
I would highly, Highly recommend staying at this establishment!!

We stayed for a week with our little dog in August and had a wonderful experience. It is hard to find a nice hotel that is pet friendly and the staff at the Saint-Suplice made us feel completely welcome. Our dog probably ate three bags of the dog treats that they gave us! The room was very comfortable, quiet, fully-equipped and spacious. The location cannot be beat as you are in the heart of the Old Port district and walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, spas, shops and sights. It felt very safe as well when I was walking the dog alone early in the morning. You are also two blocks to the Metro which takes you anywhere you want to go in the city.
We recommend using the valet service for your car if you bring one. It is not really more expensive than parking on your own and it is WAY LESS of a pain in the butt in the tiny little streets in that area of town.
The service was fantastic all around. The concierges, front desk, valets and bellmen were all so kind and helpful. They made dinner reservations for us, responded quickly to housekeeping requests and always had our car ready when we called down ahead of time. Special thanks to the housekeepers who somehow were always able to clean our room during the couple of hours we took our "Dog in Room" sign off the door during the day! We would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if they have a pet!

Saint-Sulpice was great! From the moment we stepped in the hotel everyone in the guest services made us feel welcome. The bellmen were amazing. We were able to check in prior to check in time, which was much appreciated since we had just come back from a trip and needed the rest, especially our kids. The suite was good, however, one of the rooms in it can use a little extra space. Overall a wonderful stay!

This hotel is absolutely one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in my travel journey. Right from the check in to check out we were treated like royalty. All the staff is extremely friendly and go out of their way to offer assistance and recommendations. In particular the valet staff made recommendations of landmark Montreal destinations which we enjoyed immensely. This was our first time to Montreal, the location was perfect, and we found it easy to navigate around the city. The room was a suite, lots of areas to relax, big screen tv, nespresso machine, tea, and wine for purchase in mini fridge with cream for coffee. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud, bathroom had swiss shower head, and full deep bathtub. Shampoo and bath products are from LOcctaine, very luxurious. They go the extra mile here, and you know the staff enjoy their work, they are always smiling and laughing. Highly recommend this hotel in Old Montreal, this experience will be a lovely and positive memory for years to come. Thank you Merci Beaucoup!

Fabulous location. Rooms are suites which include a small stove top, refrigerator & microwave - would be very helpful if travelling with small children. The sitting area is terrific so you're not always balancing on the end of a bed. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, bars & also walking distance to the subway for visiting other areas of Montreal.

Each year for 10 years we have come to the Saint Sulpice for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we find the staff very kind and helpful.
Our room wasn’t ready until 4 PM which was fine. We stayed in room 312 extremely large room at the end of the hall, but I have to say there were no dresser drawers and one small cupboard with an ironing board in it to hang our clothes. We stayed three nights. I ended up putting our clothes on the chair. I found this very strange
Our TV would not turn on or off and once you got it on from a button, it would not turn off. They came twice to the room to fix it to no avail.
On a positive note. The hotel does not use plastic water bottles. They filter the water by the ice machine and it is great. I was very impressed with this.
Our bed was very comfortable.
The hotel is within walking distance to everything .

Located in a great part of Old Montreal and the building is modern with a historical tone. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are friendly without being pretentious which allowed a very low-key individual as myself to feel welcomed and supported.
I am considering it for a couples getaway for sure.

I will start by saying that I feel badly about writing a review like this bc my husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and enjoyed it..
Unfortunately, though, our most recent experience was not great. Something was “off” to us... New ownership? New management? Unclear. But in short we were very disappointed and it is unlikely that we will return anytime soon, despite the great location. Not a four-star experience, nor worth the money that we spent.
Staffing:
-Staff seemed thin in number and disengaged, even smarmy at times
-There was no one to assist with luggage upon arrival or during departure. No one at the front desk said a word about this (not an apology, not a suggestion that they were understaffed so didn’t have bellhops), nor offered any help of any kind. The result was chaos w people lugging bags, kids, dogs though the lobby, grabbing carts to transport items themselves (which they would then leave upstairs), etc
-The valet (car) situation was equally frustrating - clearly understaffed so very slow at retrieving our car when we needed it
-Our room was clean but cleaners cleaned very late in the day (4pm!) - seemingly understaffed as well
Lobby/Hallways:
-The lobby was wholly uninviting - nowhere to sit except a small area with a few chairs near an unlit fireplace. This space didn’t seem to be connected to the bar/restaurant any longer, either (we had drinks there in the past )
-The elevators were very beat up - dirty floors and banged up walls that needed repair
-The upstairs hallways needed vacuuming
Room (executive suite):
-Room was huge but largely unfurnished. We had heard that the hotel had been “renovated” a few years ago; if so, this was a truly bizarre result (uninviting, cavernous, very poorly lit)
-The main living room layout was baffling… furniture was was sparse and strangely arranged; there was no easy way to sit on the (uncomfortable) couch and watch tv, no desk, just a few chairs scattered around and a small table
-The kitchenette was useful but they limited coffee pods to ONE per person, per day
-The bathroom was extremely cold
-Sufficient bath towels, but one of the bathrobes they provided was completely shredded in spots, as if a dog had ripped through it (still wondering why it had not been thrown away?!)
-The bedroom was fine but extremely poorly lit and had an unusually small TV on the wall - too small and too high up to even really use
-Smart TV was nice to have but - no Netflix or Apple TV .. so had to use our laptop in the end
I am hopeful that this review can be viewed as constructive.

After staying for years with a large chain in Old Montreal I was greatly disappointed in 2022 and vowed to try other venues, which is when I discovered Le Saint-Sulpice. A charming boutique hotel in the heart of Old (Vieux) Montreal surrounded by myriad restaurants, galleries, shops. It's a short walk to the Metro which is a convenient and far less expensive alternative to using ride share. My sister was to have joined me so I took the 1 bedroom suite for its bedding choice and though she couldn't make it I was very pleased with the room. It is extremely quiet and would be perfect for a family and a space for small business meetings. The kitchenette could service small food prep and storage needs and housekeeping service was prompt. Thank you to all the friendly folks who work to make a stay here welcoming. I recommend it for future stays for my family and friends, though generally in warm weather months.

It’s a very short walk although we took a cab there from our cruise ship because of our luggage. It’s a great location, just one block from the Notre Dame Basilica.and several excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.
Hmmm, I don’t know because we always search for a King bed. Our king was not two twins pushed together but they may have those. I think you’d have to ask directly. The location is excellent if it works for you. Just fyi, we had breakfasts at the Hotel Nelligan right around the corner ( restaurant is Nelli) . It was very charming and I just checked and they have rooms with two double beds- don’t know about pricing.
We had a queen size bed with a Murphy bed in the other room for our teenage grandkid. We didn't ask about twin beds. Sorry. Folks at the desk are easy to talk with, so just give them a call.
We stayed at the hotel in the third and fourth week of October, and we did not see any renovations.
