We have stayed at Le Saint-Sulpice twice and have had great experiences each time. It's a great location next to Notre Dame Cathedral and in the heart of the Old City. You are near the metro and can walk to great restaurants, museums and it has wonderful rooms. Some rooms have gas fireplaces, and an outdoor balcony. Comfortable beds, lovely...

We enjoyed our stay but there are some bumps that need to be ironed out. The front desk staff was friendly and professional but the check-in was a hassle. When we arrived there was nowhere to park in front of the hotel and nobody to greet us to provide guidance or collect our luggage. The street is very narrow so...

I cannot thank the staff enough at Le Saint Sulpice who contributed in multiple ways to ensure that our stay for my daughter's wedding was flawless. We had luxurious large rooms for our guests, incredible service, whether trying to help steam clean a crumpled bridesmaid dress, or accommodating fluctuating numbers of 4 to sometimes 20 who arrived for breakfast with...

This was one of the best hotels (and we've stayed at hundreds from motels to Dubai's Atlantis!) we've ever been to. The hotel is very luxurious, modern, and feels brand new! The hotel is classified as a romantic getaway for adults. So, we were a bit hesitant at first in booking this hotel and were a bit apprehensive about going...

We were delayed with all the Montreal construction and arrived at 2:00am. The person on the desk informed me it was $30/day valet parking or we could look for our own. Haha Very funny at 2:00am and parking in Old Montreal no way. We went to our room. Put the safety lock on the door and got ready for bed....

My family and I returned , we stayed here last year. This hotel is fantastic. Large room, comfortable beds, sound proof windows, good a/c, free bottles of water in your room, free wifi, close to a metro stop, right in the middle of Old Town Montreal. One of my favorite places to stay anywhere. Hopefully we'll return soon.

I don't care how many more reward points you need staying at your big-box hotel chain, if you want a real romantic Montreal experience, you need to stay at the Le Saint-Sulpice. We stayed here at the suggestion of friends who got engaged at the hotel, and the experience truly lived up to our friends' enthusiastic endorsement. First, the location...

My wife and I stay here every year for our anniversary. There are some downsides to staying in Old Montreal, but if you're going to, then stay here. Great for a romantic getaway. Beautifully run and kept hotel.

Le Saint-Sulpice is a wonderful place to stay. The staff if friendly, the location is great, the rooms are wonderful. We've stayed there twice and this past visit, got the smaller of the suites-I won't do that again...it's way too small. My only complaint though (and really not their fault, as I chose it). One fantastic thing, is that the...

My husband and I stayed at the Saint Sulpice Hotel for two nights in late June of 2014, and were very pleased. The room was spacious and elegant, and the bathroom was a good size too. Service was friendly and the location -- in the heart of the old city and very close to the Montreal waterfront was perfect. Concierge...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
