My wife and I, along with our 3 year old daughter decided at the last minute to travel to Montreal for a short 2 night stay, and we chose to stay at Le Saint Sulpice in Old Montreal. This was the third time we were staying at the hotel and every time it just gets better! The front desk is...

We enjoyed our time at le Saint-Sulpice. The concierge was the best part of the hotel - we stopped to talk with him before every excursion and he never steered us wrong, and booked us some fantastic dinners. We were traveling with our infant, and he made sure that the places he sent us to were family friendly (though some...

My wife and I stayed here at the conclusion of our two week tour. We drove straight to the hotel finding navigating around Montreal straight forward by using Sat Nav. The hotel was in a great location for exploring and we thought it was in a great central location in general. Our room was fantastic with an open fire and...

This is now our fourth stay at Le Saint Sulpice (see our previous reviews). It continues to stand out as our favorite place to stay in Montreal. The location is perfect for us in the old town. There are many restaurants and things to do all around. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the rooms spacious and most have separate bedrooms....

My friend and I stayed here for 1 night so we could relax and enjoy Old Montreal, and it was the perfect location for this. I work for a high end boutique condo hotel, so my expectations are usually high. The Saint Sulpice met all of our expectations. It was quaint, quiet, and nicely decorated. The room was clean and spacious...

We had a wonderful week's stay at the St. Sulpice. The location was excellent. Located behind the Notre Dame Basilica, the hotel was convenient for walking to the main restaurant in the Rue St. Paul area of old Montreal. It was also a short walk to the Metro station for getting around the rest of the city. Our room was...

This hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Old Montreal directly behind the Notre Dame Basilica and close to the main restaurant area which offers a huge variety of eating places. We had a very enjoyable stay at St Sulpice. A minor drawback was the insufficient lighting in the bedroom which made it difficult to read and see the contents of our suitcases in that room. Otherwise it was a terrific room. The front desk/ concierge staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating .They smiled, spoke very slowly and managed to understand...

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
