Went to Montreal for the weekend with my wife and stayed here. Hotel is beautiful. Great character, huge rooms and the staff are very friendly. The only reason it didn't receive full 5 stars is because parking is a couple blocks away. Although it is underground, which is nice. Would recommended this to anyone and would absolutely stay here again!

Stayed here for a night with my wife. Loved it! Completely different from anywhere we have ever stayed. Very unique little hotel. Sevice was excellant. Staff was helpful. Good location, tons of good restaurants and shopping close by. Our only issue was finding parking. We ended up parking around the corner in an underground parking lot.

The location and room as well as staff service was great. Very central, beautiful large comfy room, and the staff were amazing. That being said I feel there should be a check in time in which is set. At 4 am we were awoken by the room next door being checked in. They were extremely loud and the walls must... More

The place is just as unique as the pictures indicate. Awesomely cool place in the downtown area. Our room had a separate exterior entrance which was really nice. The room was well appointed. Tea and coffee available in the room. The bathroom was very big and had both a seven head shower and a whirlpool tub. The lighting in the... More

We were greeted at the door and offered a choice of rooms. We needed a double and a twin and settled on the two bedroom spa suite. This is a ' quirky' hotel with lots of character and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay a very pleasant one. This was our first visit to Montreal and the... More

The hotel was easily accessible and it was easy to find a parking. The hotel's entrance looked nice and facilities in general were clean. The hotel lacks a bit of "class" I believe as it is surprising that in a room there will be padlocks on some doors with a sign that says for hotel management only... There was also... More

I would give this zero star if I could. Stayed there summer (2016) and I do not know how they got a permit to operate in the first place with those narrow spiral stairs. The place was messy and dirty. We had to ring several times before anyone answered. The concierge looked like he was taken off guard and overwhelmed.... More

Hello Dear We are sorry about your experience. You stayed in the Economy Room and the most tripadvisor reviews that give one Star actually were posted from guests who stayed in these type of rooms. Even if these room are nice and big on the inside with beautiful bathrooms and SPAs and their windows are integrated in the back door,... More

So many things to write about this place: 1st, we were not put in the hotel rooms on St. Marc St., but rather a block over in some modern condo complex. So we missed out on the Chateau St-Marc experience altogether. I did see the rooms; they looked old-fashioned and lovely. The condo we had though, was perfect for us... More

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau St-Marc for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The location was great, convenient to the green and orange lines, and had plenty of great nearby shops and restaurants. The room was clean and had everything we could possibly need. The bed was very comfortable (and we are spoiled by our tempurpedic... More

We were a little bit skeptical about Château Saint Marc largely because many of the trip advisor reviews came from contributors that often only had one or two past reviews; an indication that management is having employees/friends "stack" the property in order to improve the perception on TA. As noted from previous posts, certainly more of a BnB than hotel.... More

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
