The only decent hotel near St. Joseph Oratory. Room very comfortable, well appointed and quiet despite being in a very busy area. The only issue was that there was a confusion with my checkout and a guest was given my room entry card and he just entered the room. Thank God I was already dressed and ready to leave. Imagine if I was either naked or having a romantic moment with my partner. My checkout time was supposed to be at 11am and this new guest entered the room at 9:15. Front desk apologized and gave me free breakfast

Dear Cesara421, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. I would like to start by apologising for the issue with the next guest's check in. I have spoken to the receptionist to get to the bottom of what happened. It was our mistake for not verifying more carefully the status of the room. Once again, we are truly sorry for this mistake and we have taken more steps in our verification process. We are very happy that you enjoyed your room and our location. I hope you consider us again in the future if you are visiting Montreal and we will do everything we can to make your experience fantastic. Kindest regards, Sandra Ezril

Really spacious setup in the room, which seemed recently renovated. Suite included a fairly generous kitchen area for a hotel, with microwave, toaster and refrigerator. Bathroom included a large shower stall and counterspace. The main room was a combined sitting/living room and the bedroom. The sitting area included a couch, television, desk, two dressers and table. The bed was comfortable and included bedside tables with lamps on each side. There was a small walk-in closet next to the bedroom, as well as a hanging bar for coats next to the entry door. Breakfast is in the little café/chocolate shop next to the reception desk. When we checked in, the clerk stated that breakfast is not free; there was a small charge ($6.00 each, I think). All breakfasts come with tea or coffee and juice. The egg/meat/toast/potatoes version of breakfast is the best value for the charge and the food was very good. I regretted getting the yogurt option, which was a 4-ounce prepackaged yogurt and a croissant. There are many other food options in the same block as the hotel, across the street.

I stayed over thanksgiving weekend while in town visiting family. The location is pretty good as it’s close to local attractions and there are some great little restaurants, cafes and bakeries in the area. My room was clean and large with nice finishes. The furnishings were a bit blah and there wasn’t much by way of decoration or paintings. My biggest complaint though was the crappy hard mattress on the king size bed. It was uncomfortable and the bed made a lot of noise. There was some noise from the garage door as well at all hours as I was on the second floor right above it. There were many positives including friendly front desk staff and easy check in, but the bed diminished my experience at the hotel. Overall, my stay was positive but with a renovated room which was promoted as an “upgrade” to me, I would expect a more comfortable mattress.
