The Square Phillips Hotel & Suites garners acclaim for its attentive service and pristine cleanliness, with a hardworking staff that maintains the rooms and facilities to high standards. Guests have called out the spacious, well-equipped rooms that boast kitchenettes and a unique charm, thanks to the building's converted warehouse origins. Its prime central location is a highlight, making it easy for guests to explore the city's attractions.

This was a fantastic hotel. The location is perfect - minutes walking to St. Catherine's Street, underground malls and museums. Old Montreal and Chinatown are very close too. The valet parking was great - they were prompt and we had no issues picking up our car when it came time to leave.

The room was huge. For a very reasonable price, we ended up with a full kitchen. Including stove, dishwasher and toaster! I've never had that in a hotel in Montreal before. You could even order groceries (we were only there 1 night so didn't take advantage).

The bed was very comfortable. The blackout curtains worked great. There is construction going on right next door but on the weekend they weren't working. Everything was spotless. The television was good and had a huge channel selection. One thing I wish they included was paper towels (since there is a full kitchen that would have been nice to have and help with cleaning up) and liners for the bins. Seemed odd not to have a liner in the bathroom and kitchen garbage bins.

Breakfast is included. We checked it out and it was very busy. It had a good selection but nothing amazing like the breakfast spreads we've had in Norway. We wanted to go to our favorite restaurant up the street but it's a great value if you feel like eating at the hotel.

All in all, a very sweet price for a fantastic room in an absolutely perfect location for people who love to park and then spend the trip walking to the different areas. I recommend this hotel for sure!

Booked a suite for a few days at the end of a touring holiday. Due to a change in plans we arrived a few days early and as a suite wasn’t available we had a studio to start off with and then moved. The staff were really helpful and there was no waiting between apartments. We loved the apartment but frankly the smaller suite would have been big enough for us. We have never stayed in such spacious accommodation.
The hotel is in an older building and traditional but really well maintained and immaculately clean. On the top floor there is a decent sized pool and gym with an outside terrace with loungers. Adjacent is a guest laundry area (wash takes 30 mins, time for a swim, drying takes one hour, 3 cd each.) This area seems recently modernised and was lovely.
A self service breakfast is included, even when busy it was easy to get seats and the friendly staff worked hard replenishing and cleaning. Cereals, breads, bagels (toasters available) yogurts, ham, cheese, fruit etc. Simple but more than adequate.
The hotel is in a good area, near main shopping street and subway. Restaurants nearby and also one in the hotel under separate management.. It’s a 20 minute walk to the old town where we usually ate but that’s going downhill and it’s quite a hike coming back up. However there are always taxis available for the return journey.
All the staff are so friendly and helpful here. Montreal was our favourite place in Canada and we loved this hotel.

We spent 3 nights here in the center of bustling Montreal. It is convenient, and attractions/conveniences are within walking distance. Parking is difficult unless you accept the CA$35/night valet parking service. We're glad we did.
It's a large, rather old-fashioned, hotel with high ceilings, large rooms with kitchenettes, comfy beds, fast elevators, and low water pressure in the shower. In the morning, I can smell something like bug spray.
As an early riser, I can get hot coffee at Tom Horton's across the street. The included breakfast is nothing to brag about. It does have sliced ham and cheeses which can be used to make a wonderful grilled sandwich. Today's cake was a delicious marble.

Hotel room was large, clean, staff were friendly, and the kitchenette was a great addition. The location was halfway between the old town and downtown making everything a 20-minute or less walk. The breakfast was mediocre at best and didn't offer anything hot outside of the toast and the only offered parking was valet despite the website implying more. Additionally, everything was a little warn out and the hotel could use a refresh. Would still recommended solely based on its location.

This was truly my home away from home especially with my reduced mobility/need to travel in wheelchair due to an accident a few days before the trip. Much to my delighted surprise, the hotel was very accessible in every way with zero steps from curb to lobby to my room (a regular studio king) and all public space, the best on my 2 week/7 hotel trip in this area. It was easy and safe to get around in the spacious and comfortable suite. All hotel staff I interacted with was friendly and made me feel very welcome. I am especially grateful to the concierge on the morning of my departure who went above and beyond to help contact the taxi driver when I accidentally left my wheelchair pedals in the taxi after drop off at the train station. I was practically in tears and not knowing what to do, but upon contacting the hotel, the concierge came through and got a hold of the taxi driver after spending a long time chasing it down. He saved my trip!
In spite of my mobility situation, I was able to see a lot of what I came to see in Montreal due to great location of the hotel. I also enjoyed sitting on the open rooftop terrace while waiting for laundry to be done. I will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit Montreal!

Excellent customer service. We had a small problem in our room and it was immediately taken care of by maintenance, and upon checkout they comped our valet parking.
My family has been staying here for many years and we have always enjoyed the extra space, full amenities, and complimentary buffet breakfast.

It is very clean and, although it may seem a little dated in this Instagram era of fancy wallpaper, it is actually beneficial to have three times the amount of space compared to hotels three times the price. You can get a huge king size room with a full kitchen, free breakfast, dining table, 4 dining chairs, armchair and ottoman, desk and comfortable work chair, 2 robes and two closets, plus an elevator and swimming pool for only $260 Canadian including tax!

Can see why some people like this hotel. Close to the metro and restaurants, spacious room with kitchen facilities. However we didn't realise there were significant building works until we read a forum question. Well at just after 6 in the morning the loud noise started, 1st with vehicles reverse beepers, then loud moving plant, then thunderous thumping noise, and all before 7. When we reported to this at reception we were told our room, 704 was at the quieter end of the hotel. Dread to to think what other guests heard. Thought breakfast was awful in an overcrowded room. As for our room, thought the furniture was old fashioned and I thought hotels had stopped putting hard wired hairdryers in the bathroom. Probably explains why there was no sink plug cos standing water would have been a real safety hazard.

We stayed in a single room with 2 beds on the 3rd floor. The room was even nicer than the picture with really high ceilings and a ton of closets/storage spots. Kitchen was fully equipped with utensils, toaster, freezer, dishwasher, etc. Beds were good. Very clean. Bathroom a good size too. Toiletries were crulty free which was nice. Checkin guy was ok, check out woman was very friendly. The terrace on the highest floor was cool with a nice view and a few deck chairs but the pool is indoors and very small (max 10 ppl but it was cramped with even 2 sets of ppl from different groups) and you have to pass the gym to get between the terrace and the pool . It did have a shower though and plenty of towels. Great location - Easy walk to transport, easy walk to old Montreal, food options near by, etc. I had requested a room on a high floor but no one responded to me and at check in we were given a room on the 3rd floor. View was the side of a building close enough to block out most of the natural light. We had no noise issues. AC worked ok.

We booked a family suite for the four of us for our 3 night stay in Montreal. The room was huge (2 bedrooms, living room and a well stocked kitchen), very clean and quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The only downsides were the small pool and the breakfast area that was disorganized and too small for the number of guests. The hotel is located within a walking distance to the old city, minutes away from a metro station and right in a central downtown location with many restaurants, malls and attractions around. We had a great stay and would be happy to stay there again during future visits to beautiful Montreal.
