2021 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Hotel Nelligan's elegant accommodations pair century-old stone walls with a chic, modern decor. Natural light flows through the 44 rooms, 59 suites and 2 penthouses, while stately furnishings and high-end amenities punctuate the ambiance. The hotel perfectly accommodates groups with its expansive ballroom (fits up to 350) and 4 modern conference spaces. In the lobby, a regal, four-story atrium will house the Nelli Café soon. It will be the perfect place for grabbing a coffee, light meal or glass of wine while adjoining Verses Restaurant offers a market-fresh menu. And for a taste of Montreal's mischievous side, Mechant Boeuf serves up delicious cocktails and great music nightly! Room service is also available. Finally, situated atop the elegant property, Terrasse Nelligan delivers unmatched city views! CITQ 180390

Our final 2 night stopover in Canada at the end of the Christmas holidays. Sadly Montreal was in lockdown with public galleries and restaurants closed (except for takeaways) the Staff were courteous and helpful but with over 90% cancellations it was quiet. Breakfast and dinner while ordered downstairs , were well presented and served in the room. Our large room was probably the best we had had in Canada. Plenty of seats , sofa, armchair, huge hydro bath and separate shower. A small table for 2 served as our restaurant table. All in all a very comfortable stay in the old town within easy reach of the waterfront and even a long walk up to Mont Royal

We stayed at the Hotel Nelligan in December 2021. Everything about the hotel was just perfect. We loved the brick wall in our room, the top-tier toiletries in the bathroom (it was my wife who noticed -- I was completely oblivious!), and just the overall intimate ambience and beauty of the hotel itself that captivated us. The location can not be beat. It's an amazing thing to step out of the front door and be right in the hear of "Vieux Montreal" (Old Montreal), steps to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the port, and more. Amazing old-world cafes everywhere you turn, seemingly on every corner. When we had an inquiry, it was answered by someone named Benoit who, I believe, is the general manager there. That kind of attention to detail as well as the things I mentioned above made this a truly special place. My wife and I love to try different interesting hotels, but there is absolutely NO question of us staying anywhere else the next time we go to Montreal!

We love small boutique hotels and Hotel Nelligan’s charm was evident the minute we walked through the door. From the warm greeting in our arrival to the incredibly luxurious pillows and bedding, we loved our stay. I’m the type of person who puts a lot of time into searching for accommodations that are well sited for walking to explore historical sites, good food, and beautiful views. I found all this and more with my stay at Hotel Nelligan.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Nelligan Hotel following a two year hiatus. We have stayed here in the past to watch the Santa Claus parade. This time, however, was a simple getaway for us to relax. The Nelligan was as amazing as it always was. We booked a Petit Suite and included the Romance pkg, breakfast, whirlpool tub and lovely flowers in our room. Each night there was a turn down service with chocolates and additional Nespresso coffee left on our table. Our large room of two big windows looked out on the quiet cobble stone street. The electric fireplace added to the relaxing ambiance after walking in the snow. The staff are very kind and looked out for our every need even delivering a complimentary bottle of Prosecco on our first night. The Continental Breakfast was typical French fare of croissants, jams, yogurt and cheese … and great coffee/latte. We will return to the Nelligan again. It is a very charming boutique hotel that has always looked after us while we enjoy the romance of Vieux Montreal. Photo: Snow falling on the cobblestone street.
