Great Hotel, very interesting interior and exterior design. Definitely a step-up from other price point comparables. The only negative point was some of the artwork, especially the one photograph in the elevator, did not reflect the class of the hotel and cheapened the overall feel. Otherwise, everything was great.

So lucky to find this excellent hotel in an ideal location for exploring Montreal. Staff couldn't do enough for us, including packing the car before we left. Lovely rooms and great relaxed feel to the bar area.

We stayed Feb 3 to Feb 6 in terrace suite 510. Our relatives had an equally superb stay in another room on that floor. Our large and sunny room was well designed with the living space separated from the bedroom. Both areas had large windows with nice views and a north side terrace. The bed and linens were high quality...

Incredible personal service, impeccable rooms, top cleanliness, cozy lobby / bar area...We considered the W, Westin and Hyatt during our stay and I must say we would never have had such an incredible experience nor received this level at service at any of those hotels. A must stay while in Montreal! 5 Stars+

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Service was spectacular. The room was large and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The decor and room design was very industrial, so it might not be for everyone. My only real complaint is that the noise from the street below was a bit intrusive in my room.

Gorgeous. The ceilings are amazingly high, rooms are spacious, beautiful washrooms and excellent bedding and decor and, of course, Nespresso coffee makers. This recent trip was the first time I ordered room service and the menu is surprisingly limited. Aside from that, Hotel Gault is my hotel of choice when I am in Montreal.

I have no clue how I managed to snag a room at Hotel Gault, just a night before we arrived. It's on a quiet street, but less than a 5 minute walk to the action of charming Old Montreal. The rooms are HUGE and gorgeous, with french balconette windows (that open). Super clean and also very quiet, I didn't hear...

With only 30 rooms or so (my estimate), Hotel Gault is a calm oasis on a snowy Montreal day. The front desk staff is welcoming and professional. I have stayed in a regular loft room and also upgraded to a suite on another stay and both were wonderful.

The Hotel Gault had wonderful service and accommodations! They also had a wonderful concierge service. Every restaurant suggestion they made was spot on! I also really liked the location of the hotel. It was walking distance to many good restaurants and shops.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
