The hosts were wonderful and made us feel so welcome with a glass of wine as we arrived. My husband and I were not sure about a B&B but thought we'd give it a try and we were not disappointed. The location is good. Having breakfast ready for you when you were ready for it was the best and the...

For that matter, it was my first real trip to Canada, and the friendliness of all the locals, especially Daniel and Petra, was such a treat. A la Carte definitely lived up to its billing! My sister and I stayed in the Mother Nature room and it was very clean and comfortable. Daniel and Petra were so hospitable and helped...

This was our first trip to Montreal - we had no idea what it would be like, and even less of an idea where to stay. I researched over 100 B&B's in the Monreal area on the internet. We narrowed it down to a handful of places that met our criteria, A La Carte being one of them. It finally...

As all the other folks- we did our research on trip advisor and chose A La Carte B&B for all the great comments about the accomodations and the hosts- Daniel and Petra. We cant say enough about the hospitality of Daniel and Petra. We used the Daniel car service to pick us up at the airport and that was great...

Truly an exquisite apartment, very well equipped and very tastefully and professionally decorated. Floors squeek, but that comes with age. Excellent off street parking. Actually ideally located, your never more that 15 minutes from Downtown by car and is on a good bus route. Lots of good eateries close by. Daniel and Petra and Monsieur Petite are very warm and...

The reviews we had read prior to making the booking were so accurate. We had a wonderful welcome from Petra and Monsieur Petit ! Arriving much earlier than we had said, and poor Daniel working very hard unloading a delivery of logs for the winter to come - at no point did we feel that we were being a burden...

We visited with our two-year old son and were give a warm welcome by Daniel, Petra, and Monsieur Petit. We stayed in the Julliard Suite which was plenty of room for the three of us. Daniel even provided us with plenty of kid's videos to watch in our room (which had a TV and DVD player). Luckily, we didn't need...

Petra and Daniel were great hosts. Petra stayed up late to welcome us in after our drive from Boston. They provided a great breakfast followed by even better advice on what to see in Montreal, how to get around town and where to eat. The little amenities (like providing opus cards to get on the Metro) made the trip much...

My girlfriend and I decided on a quick one night getaway to Montreal. Unfortunately we had a flat on the way there and ended up arriving several hours later than we had planned for. Daniel & Petra were more than understanding! They provided a warm greeting and were fantastic and friendly hosts. Although the rooms aren't ultra modern, the style,...

Its hard to add to the superlatives of previous reviews. These gave us high expections of A la Carte, but these were more than matched. Having arrived in Montreal after a long, overnight train journey from Halifax, we were somewhat jaded. However Petra's warm welcome and offer of tea soon revived us. Although we arrived at about 10.30am this was...

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
