Scary location, decor, and management. Honestly it's not worth it no matter how cheap. The place was questionable as soon as we arrived. The man inside made our uneasiness even worse. He charged us to "upgrade" to a private bathroom which was unfair because this wasn't clearly stated. The free breakfast is seriously a joke. You fear for your safety... More

My son and I went to Montreal to catch an Impact Soccer game. We stumbled upon Auberge Manoir Ville-Marie through Expedia. The hotel is in a good location, meaning we didn't have to drive far to get to all of Montreal's wonderful destinations, and we felt safe walking around at night (Montreal has very little crime compared to the United... The Hotel is low cost but there were no insurmountable problems. They were friendly and willing to please which made a difference. The hotel is quite off the beaten trail and the neighborhood is quite noisy. It is an elderly building in need of some upgrades.

This is a difficult review for me to write because of the huge descrepancy between the service offered by the owners/operators of this hotel and the quality of the of the property. Firstly, the location is awful. it is located in one of the seediest parts of the city to say the least. Homeless people and drug users abound on... More

I stayed here back in September 2015, it was the best choice to stay at since I was on a serious budget. The room I had was actually a really nice size, pretty spacious, but the mattress wasn't that comfortable and the bathroom was just o.k. I didn't have great expectations to begin with so I wasn't let down on... More

We booked the hotel through Tingo and given the rate I didn't except anything exceptional. But the hotel and staff beat all my expectations. We drove from Boston and arrived there very late (~ 1:00 am), there was a phone number on the door by calling which they let us in. They had our room already prepared and had the... More

I came here with the famly at the end of August 2016. At $65 a night, you get a refrigirator included in the room, free breakfast, WiFi, and parking. You can't beat that for a stay in Montreal. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and they advised me on what places to visit in Montreal. The hotel is... More

Hotel is in a former, converted post office, it is a budget hotel, definitely not a boutique hotel. Area is ok, not the best part of town. Parking on the property or on the street, you will always find a place to park your car. Hotel is a 15-20 walk to the nearest metro station, Prefontaine, located on the green... More

This hotel is an attractive budget option -- the rooms are clean, staff is friendly, and breakfast is included. The building itself is also pretty interesting (an old Post Office). The only negative really is the location is not great, it's a bit of a walk to the nearest metro and I'm pretty sure the street is populated by prostitutes.

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
