Booking's efficient since you receive the code for the main door, and your room. ahead of arrival. The reception while on duty doesn't want to do much. We buzzed to enter during reception hours, and they asked if we had our code/does our code not work.We couldn't locate the reception to ask for a continental breakfast item,or toiletries during their available hours. While doing the latter, we met the owners who are really nice people. The boutique hotel does need work as it looks dilapidated in parts of the common area, while the room we had looked tired. wifi,no issue here as an extender was in the hall of our second floor. The bathroom had what appeared to be a blood smear at the exterior tub edge wall. Room blinds are sheer, with an uncovered upper window. With a west side room, this won't matter as much to someone who isn't easily awoken by light. The elevator works which is good when you have luggage beyond a backpack. Parking, the location needs to specify there's ONLY 4 spots, unless one can somehow drive on the sidewalk to park a sub compact closer to the left of the stairs when facing the building to get a fifth spot. A motorcycle will have no issue if a spot's available. Overnight, due to the location,it was peaceful. For the price, this isn't a first choice, but we booked last minute.

We arrived in downtown Montreal by Via Train and had lunch. We purchased a week's Metro Transit Pass and 35 minutes later were warmly welcomed at the Auberge Manoir Ville Marie Hostel/Hotel by guys working on a water pipe in the building. Since the issue may have had an affect on our room, they kindly offered another one. The room was very clean and bright as were the beds very comfortable and well arranged. The light grey floors were smooth to walk on without shoes. The bathroom essentials were quite up to date and modern. The water pressure for the shower was adequate. I appreciated that the neighbourhood was quiet and residential. I really liked the Victorian flair for the shower curtains and table lamps, also dust free! Due to Covid regulations, no breakfasts were available, however, two blocks away, on foot, there are pastry/coffee and other shops. The Metro Bus Stop is also just outside the hotel and will take you to practically anywhere you wish to go! The Auberge offers free Wi-Fi so make Google your friend! I found the costs very reasonable.

We spent one night at Auberge manoir ville Marie, which is well located in Sainte Catherine street, in Montreal. The staff is friendly.
The rooms have dated furniture but are clean. The beds are comfortable.
Breakfast was good and took place on a small terrace

I’m so happy that I chose to book a room with you. Auberge Manoir Ville Marie hotel was such an incredible fit for my needs and lifestyle. I enjoyed being able to use the common kitchen area and the microwave. It’s such a generous gesture to provide visitors with amenities they are so used to having access to on daily basis like microwave, refrigerator , perfectly working elevator, parking right by the entrance ! The common microwave was available not only downstairs in the common kitchen area but it was also available for use at the top floor !

Hotel’s management has been so extremely helpful during our stay ! They switch us to the room that my husband preferred. Because of his height he doesn’t fit in double size bed, so they offered him exchange for free. This is like truly upscale customer service.
It means a lot to us . I perceive such care and flexibility of the hotel’s employees as that you are going above and beyond to keep the visitors of your hotel happy comfortable and satisfied.

I think our room’s ceiling was like 16 feet high, so the experience of entering the bedroom as well as being inside felt absolutely magical ! Beautiful design of interior that features antique vintage piano , sewing machine and phonograph ❤️ It was 9 min drive to Time Out Market Montréal and to McCord museum.
Inevitably you gave us an extremely high value for the price.

We actually had an extra night reserved at Manoir Hovey closer to Bromont where we skied. The price per night was 6 times higher but the stay couldn’t be worse . It was not possible to park in the front where you check in . Because the place is so huge you have to drive to your room then walk up the stairs . No one even explained that to me clearly so my heavy belongings had to be carried by hands from the desk to the room really far away walking in the snow . No elevator anywhere . We were so exhausted after skiing but I still carried all the food that we were planning to reheat and use. There was no refrigerator or freezer to store food and keep it safe for eating. They have no microwave in the room either. Everything is designed to make you pay more for extra services, which I wasn’t interested in because I never belonged to those who love decadence.
Some people say that choosing budget friendly hotel rooms means staying in a tiny space , but the room we reserved at Auberge Manoir Ville Marie provided us with everything we needed to have a dream vacation. I picked a room with one queen bed that I loved and I don’t think it was tiny at all. In other places the average couple only uses 40% of their living space so I like to think that we instead are utilizing every bit of the modified space that we do have !

This was such a great find. I needed to get away for some quiet time and didn't need anything fancy, just clean and welcoming and I got that in spades.

I would go back in a heartbeat. At one point, I found the chair in my room not comfortable so I asked if I could switch it out with one in the hall. The staff member smiled, said, this is your home away from home and gave me a brochure by that name.

The antiques throughout the building were a lovely touch. The place was clean and very welcoming. It was cold when I entered the room and they had placed a small portable heater which was greatly appreciated with the vaulted ceilings.

Not the safest looking neighborhood for an evening stroll but great shopping a couple of streets away. Parking is easy (and free), and the morning meal is simple but filling.

Excellent value! I loved it so much, I stayed an extra day! Thank you to the warm and helpful staff!

This was the cheapest room I could find in the Montreal area. It looked like a nice historical building.
I like the floor tiles and the staff was nice and helpful. The room was essentially a bed in a box. There seems to be a shortage of towels. I was not the only one who had this issue. The bathroom vanity lights didn't work. The bathroom shower is the size of a coffin and the water pressure was very weak. The faucet seems to be broken and when you turn the know to cold it is just a trickle. There was no thermostat in the room to control the room temperature. The room kind of smell funky and the sheets didn't seem very clean. The mattress feels old. It sort of sucks you in like a bog when you lay on top of it.
The location seems to be a bad neighborhood. There are swarms of flies outside. I saw rats in the streets in broad daylight. In general the neighborhood kind of smell funky when the wind is blowing in a specific direction.

My room was immaculate and staff was very helpful and accomodating. Access to public transit is close-the bus stops are within 500 feet and its a short 15 minute walk to the Prefonaine metro station. If you get off at the Papineau station, there is a very nice Metro Plus grocery store (rooms have refrigerators) and you can grab the 34 bus to the hotel.

This is an interesting old building just a bit away from the old port area. I think you would want to have a car. It's far from deluxe but is clean and safe. The included continental breakfast was decent, bready things with cheese ham and limited fruit. The fellow at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. It took a while to get hot water to the shower but the pressure was good. This hotel is good value as it is not expensive and meets your needs if you are looking for a reasonable place to sleep. I would stay here again

I was thrilled to find the Auberge Manoir. I drove up from Boston to see a concert at the Centre Bell and didn’t have many plans beyond that. Of course, Montreal has no end of fun and delicious things to do, but as I’ve been numerous times, I didn’t feel the need to stay in the middle of the action and have to pay more than double plus parking and that’s where the Auberge came in. It’s close enough to the city that you always know you’re in it, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and solitude in this quiet, green, residential area. If you’re relying solely on foot, this may not be the best choice for you but Ubers and taxis are plentiful and affordable and there’s a bus. I did a mix of driving and cycling, taking full advantage of the nearby Bixi cycle stand. They’re easy to use and cheap at $1.5CAD. On a bike, traveling the gorgeous bike trail behind the hotel gets you more than halfway to downtown and from there, there many protected bike lanes. Montreal is all in on the bike and you should take advantage. I arrived late and had a bit of a confusing check in. This place is encouraged to be 100% contact free and once you figure out the electronic key, it’s as easy as pie. Do it beforehand and not at midnight like I did when the staff if off duty, but I figured it out. Alas, the free parking lot was full, but as this is a residential neighborhood, free street parking is plentiful. When I came back from carousing at about 3:00am, I had to circle the block a couple of times until I was confident I was in a legal spot. You’ll need to know your French days of the week. The next day, I parked in the lot and kept it there the remainder of my stay and relied on the bikes and Uber. There’s not much in the immediate neighborhood, save for houses and nature, but it is pleasantly walkable. As for the hotel, it’s basic so adjust your thinking. Rooms are clean and well equipped with soap and shampoo, private baths, and AC. Mine was on the top floor in the back and very quiet. In short, this place is an incredible value and made me feel like local and isn’t that the best?

We came to Montreal for a concert in Parc Jean Drapeau in August 2022. While the place still needs some improvement, it is a cozy place, convenient and close to downtown, you can use Uber and everything is within minutes driving distance. Few spots for free parking on site, challenging at times, but we managed. Rooms are nice and clean, high ceiling, beds are comfortable. The pastry shop nearby is amazing, the lady baker is super friendly. Sharzad at Auberge is a very friendly and pleasant lady to talk to. Overall, we liked the place and will recommend it to our friends. We booked more than 3 months in advance for a great rate.
