Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I spent a night at Auberge Saint Jacque in Montreal. Such a hidden treasure this Auberge! Very affordable price, yet very comfortable, exceptionally clean, newly renovated hotel. We loved design of our room, it’s functionality and contemporary look. We came very late at night, very tired. Olesya, lady working in reception area, was very friendly, answered all our questions. She was very professional and we felt like we were in right place. Due to coronavirus pandemic we were very concerned about safety, disinfection policies at the hotel. We were pleased to find out that each room routinely sterilized after cleaning according to established protocol. We would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for clean, modern place to stay on a very reasonable budget

This place is like an Oasis. The price is amazing for what it brings. The place has great WiFi, it is well decorates and clean. The staff is very respectful. Easy access by car. The motel has all the commodities close by. Just few minutes walk for anything needed. The free morning coffee is great!

With some reticence, we booked this motel for a three day stay in 2017. Despite the largely glowing reviews, we were somewhat skeptical that a facility charging just $75.00/night could be that good. We came away believers and when we decided to return to Montreal this year for a five day stay, immediately booked our room here! All the positive reviews you read about this place are fact and we could go about repeating them but won't bother. The pictures of this Auberge on this website are just as it is. The proprietor continues to upgrade the property. The exterior seemed to be spruced up from what it was two years ago and motion detector lights have been installed outside each room. The purpose of our visit entailed activities in the west end of Montreal in Ile Bizard, Kahnawake and Beaconsfield. Driving in Montreal is an absolute nightmare at the moment and there is a dearth of places to stay in the west end unless you want to stay near the airport for twice the cost, minimum. This was the most convenient alternative for us but I'm now convinced that we would stay here even if we had to bus/metro it downtown. The money saved buys a nice meal every evening! Recognize that there is no pool, spa or exercise facility here. Also breakfast is not included. If these are vital amenities to you, this will not be your place to stay. We also noticed that the bed in our room was slung close to the floor, perhaps 12"-18". This could pose a problem for some people, particularly overweight folks. I'm not sure if this is the case in every room so you might check first if you might be impacted. For us, this was perfect - a spotlessly clean room with all the amenities that we need for a comfortable stay!

Definitely enjoyed our stay at Auberge St. Jacques! I didn't have high expectations but I was extremely surprised with the room. It was clean and organized. The bathroom looks like it was newly renovated and it was quite spacious which was nice. Taking the bus from the place was definitely easy. The bus stop was accessible - less than a minute walk from it. The staff was helpful, polite and very friendly. The lady that was there also made us coffee! For the price we paid, I was amazed! I would totally recommend it.

When my daughter wanted to come to Montreal to attend the animae convention this week and finally meet a longtime internet friend I came along as she is too young to travel alone just yet and I had never been to Montreal before. We had problems finding a room close to the city center and came across this very reasonably priced room. After hours on trains and buses I cannot say I was overwhelmed by the outside...what a lovely suprise. Maybe front staff has changed but I have found them polite and helpful and kind. The room itself is very clean and the bathroom appears brand new. Fridge, microwave and tv all working perfectly, an abundance of clean towels and good pillows. Most importantly this summer...the air conditioner is working flawlessly. No fancy lobby, no pool but the price reflects those things..and really how often do you use either. It is a bit out of the way but the bus stop is right outside and the metro isn’t far. No place to eat close by but..skip the dishes found me with zero problems the one night I was too wiped to leave. Jean Talon market was easy enough to get to that I left the room by 8 am and arrived back at noon with the most beautiful berries I have ever seen and a belly full of fresh squeezed juice and crepes. So no one suffered for being on the outskirts of town even without a car. Save yourself literally hundreds of dollars and check it out.
