Luxury and Style at a comfortable price. What a treat we had staying with Denis at this Gem of a Stay in the Latin Quarter of Montreal on a chilly weather weekend in December. However the Victorian Heritage Bed and Breakfast left us with many warm and happy memories. We just can't say enough about the accommodation or the friendly and discerning host. We booked "The Loft" room, which was spacious, comfortable, relaxing and totally enjoyable. We scoured all around the neighbourhood, of Rue St. Denis and St. Laurent Blvd. Visited MAC Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal and endless and intriguing and captivating stores and eateries and galleries all within comfortable walking distance. It was an eclectic cultural experience and adventure. Plus we had all sorts of good walking exercise too. After it all we were anxious to get back to our room and warm our somewhat chilled and well walked bones in the most glorious large 2 person copper bathtub while we reminisced that day's adventures. We felt warm and cozy in our dreamlike setting. Simply glorious! Denis was the perfect host, sharing scrumptious and varied breakfast fare which included his world class home made blueberry jam. To die for. He shared ideas of where to visit and restaurants to try. Everything so handy, yet here we were in such this wonderfully cultured, but large city. We booked directly online using their website. Which was simple and I am sure gave us added value, you know bang for our tourist buck! Which is always important. You won't find it on hotel booking engines, only their website. The reviews and photos gave us complete confidence that our stay would be memorable and truly it was. We added parking for our car, which meant we didn't have that concern of dealing with it in the big city, one less worry to deal with. Everything about our stay was fantastic. It was almost like a vacation unto itself really. Classy, classic accommodation with an historic feel to it. A very cultured ambiance that added so greatly to our few days in Montreal. We simply can't wait to get back to the Victorian Heritage, its' warmth and culture and the attentive caring of Denis and his staff. Great value and relaxation. I am sure you will love it as much and perhaps even more so that us. We highly recommend the Victorian Heritage B and B. Sophisticated elegance, style and panache, comfort, value and relaxation. Simply superb!

I am very happy to see that you had such a great weekend in Montreal. I cannot thank you enough for this superb review. The fact that you took the time to carefully write it says a lot about your generosity and your appreciation for my place. I also consider "The Loft" as a fantastic space. Thank you for mentioning its copper tub for two, a really unique feature. Best luck to the two of you! À la prochaine!!!

Booking and communicating directly with owner Denis is very straight forward and trouble free. We booked the Amelia & Caroline (slightly bigger) rooms on the 2nd floor. It has everything we need. There is also a washer/dryer and small kitchen on the same floor, very convenient. Fresh and delicious breakfast served every morning in the beautiful dining room. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it for its downtown location. Parking on the premise is a big plus. Feel safe with the neighborhood.

I agree very much with many recent reviews. The hosts are wonderful. I don't think that I have ever spent so much time at the breakfast table of any B&B enjoying the hosts and the other guests. I was unsure about the location, but once I figured out the subway and bus system, it did not matter. One can get a 24 hour pass for only C$10, what a bargain. In addition, we were taking the bus from Montreal to Quebec City, and the station was only 2+ blocks away. The room was large with the tub in the living room.

On a recent trip through Canada to see the fall colors we stayed two nights in Montreal at Heritage Victorian. It is in the Latin Quarter, surrounded by restaurants, and within walking distance of the Old City. (We also took the subway to the Botanical Gardens for the evening light show.) The house was built in 1870, with a lot of family history (including the diary of the 17 year old daughter which my wife enjoyed reading) and pictures on the wall. The thick stone walls made it very quiet at night when college students at the university next door were out and about. I had a lot of questions about how they remodeled the home into a B&B with beautifully updated bathrooms (plenty of hot water, even for a soak in the HUGE claw foot tub!). The fantastic wood moldings, stairway (39 steps to the top floor) and antique furnishings make it feel like you are in another century living an upper class life. Denis and Michel are perfect hosts - excellent directions coming and going, wonderful breakfasts with fresh fruit, breads, omelet and continual fresh coffee or tea made the stay a delight! Thank you Denis and Michel!

I highly recommend this B&B. It is beautiful inside. We stayed in the dormer room. Three flights up, but worth the steps. Wonderful tub to soak in after exploring Montreal. A 15-20 minute walk to Old Montréal. Michel is delightful. His kindness and humor is worth the stay! They also offer parking which is worth the cost.
