Detailed Reviews
My wife and I stayed at the Alt hotel for 3 nights at the end of October. We did our research to find the best value for a hotel close enough to Old Montreal and ended up booking the Alt hotel with the 3rd night at half price. Not only did we love the location and value, but we were also given one of their nicest rooms with an incredible panoramic view of downtown Montreal. The rooms were very modern and clean, it was an experience we will never forget. Thank you so much Alt Hotel for making our first time in Montreal that much more amazing!

The hotel is in an excellent location to see Old Montreal and many of the city's other highlights - you can walk or bike everywhere. The room was highly functional, modern, and exceptionally clean and well-appointed.
Three things might affect the quality of your sleep: the mattress is extremely soft (it almost feels like a water bed!!), the rooms have horizontal blinds and no curtains so a lot of light still comes through, the building's HVAC is loud, even if you turn off the AC in your own room.
Also: one of the shower walls is glass and shared with the bedroom. Make sure you're comfortable with the peep show before booking.

We stayed for 3 nights June 27-29. The room was very comfortable and while a bit small, was laid out perfectly so that it didn't feel small at all.
The hotel is located a stones throw from the Lachine Canal and a 20 minute walk to the port and Old Montreal. If you want to go to the downtown core it is a 25 minute walk.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have a very good gym onsite and there is plenty of food options both in the hotel and nearby.
Would certainly stay again.

This hotel is quite nice looking; the aesthetic was very pleasant. The location was ideal if you wanted to go walking or biking to Old Port and the surrounding areas. The beds and bathroom were clean except for a stain on the sheets of one of the beds.
The only thing I found extremely disappointing was that the amenities were very underwhelming. I paid around $450 for 1 night to not get a microwave in the room, have an ill-working wine cooler as a fridge, $2 bags of tea, unvalidated parking that wasn't mentioned online when I booked the room, and weak wifi.
This was a nice space, but I can find another hotel room with a microwave, fridge, free tea in the room, free parking and working wifi for less than $250 a night. It's hard for me to say that I would recommend this hotel to friends or family but this is based on my experience. I'm just confused as to how I paid a significant amount of money and I got a less than significant experience.

Bathroom doors are sliding doors with bumpers installed to prevent door from fully closing or locking. Very limited English TV channels (less than usual in QC). Bedding was nice. Elevators to underground parking are not the same Elevators to hotel rooms, which is a pain if you have a lot of luggage.

I stayed at Hotel Alt Montreal by chance for one night due to a missed connecting flight in Montreal. I had had such a bad experience at the airport with my two little ones that I was incredibly overwhelmed and exhausted by the time I got there.
The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and hospitable. The room was beautiful and very clean. In the morning, the girl at the front desk was accommodating, gave us breakfast on the house and called a taxi for us.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Montreal. You won't regret it.

This hotel is situated perfectly near old Montreal but in Griffintown where there is a lot of great restaurants! The hotel is modern and has a great lobby to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine at the end of a great day visiting old Montréal. Well worth it!

We stayed here for 2 nights and were happy (kind of) with the room which was modern and nicely appointed. We were not impressed with the fact our room was not ready for check-in by around 5:30 p.m.
The front desk staff did offer us a beverage on the house as well as a discount upon our check-out. The other problem was out TV stopped showing images and only the sound was working. This was not fixed during the second day of our stay. As we were out late, transferring to a new room wasn't practical.
Other than that, the hotel is in a nice quite location but not far from dwontown.

I never write reviews but promised myself I would when I was so disappointed with this hotel. It is nicely designed, clean, and up to date. The problem I had is that the fan and AC in my room was not working so it was 26 degrees in my room. I asked for it to be resolved multiple times but it wasn't. This made it very hard to sleep and not at all comfortable. Would never return here.

A friend recommended this hotel in Griffintown, an area of Montreal we hadn't explored before. It was decent value (Montreal was very expensive this summer!). The bed was comfortable, the decor funky, and the location excellent for going to Old Montreal, exploring the trails along the canal, and walking to the train station.
