The proprietors are rightfully proud of their B&B and that becomes abundantly clear from check in. We were placed in what was probably one of the smaller rooms. I say small but it was certainly large enough for the two of us. Very clever design and use of space means everything is in there without it feeling cramped. Clean and... More

Stayed a total of 4 nights at this truly exceptional B & B. The rooms are very comfortable with " luxury" touches, the decor is lovely, and Andre and company are excellent charming hosts. Everything is done for the guests' comfort including a well stocked aesthetically designed common area and beautifully cooked breakfasts - my gluten sensitivity was accommodated with... More

So impressed with this quaint B&B. Incredible service and breakfast by Andre, Claude and Jean. They were so accommodating in both making reservations for us and handling ground transportation which included five road bikes. This place is a wonderful mix of the old and new, well appointed and so worth the stay. I would highly recommend!

We stayed 4 nights at Sir Montcalm last week and I am still finding myself daydreaming about that gorgeous place. This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. I don't even know what the best thing was because it was all so wonderful. Our host, Andre, was warm and friendly- and an excellent cook! We had delicious breakfasts... More

I recently stayed 3 nights at Sir Montcalm in Montreal's Village District. Parked right outside the front door and never moved the car until leaving at the end of our stay. Beautiful rooms and living area. Andre and his staff cooked a full breakfast each morning, which we ate in the fantastic courtyard. Andre was very helpful and gave suggestions... More

Lovely place with great style, extremely warm and welcoming and cosy in Montreal weather. Many bnbs are kitchsy, but the Sir Montcalm is modern without being cold, stylish without falling prey to the hipster trend. Location is perfect- around the corner from the metro and the many restaurants of St Catherine. Breakfast is cooked by Andre himself, and is simply... More

I stayed in this B and B this past weekend. I now have a place that I plan on staying every time I'm in Montreal. I am in Montreal at least once a month. The hosts are so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend Sir Montcalm.

My partner and I stayed here during the middle of March for 5 nights and could not have been any happier. From the time we arrived late on Thursday night until we left on Tuesday morning Andre, the owner, made sure all of our needs were met. The breakfast here is fabulous. Andre personally makes the breakfast and it is... More

Stayed here during between Christmas and New Year's. I was going to give it only a 4 star review, but I realized that would be unfair as I tend to shy away from Bed and Breakfasts in general. They can be a little too intimate for my taste. (breakfast with strangers, etc) However, if I reviewed the place as if... More

My partner & I recently stayed at Sir Montcalm our 2 night NYE getaway. From the start, we were very impressed with the hospitality. Andre met us outside - took all of our luggage into his apartment - then rode in the car with us to best direct us to the parking lot (right around the corner). As we entered... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
