Embassy Suites by Hilton Montreal is celebrated for its prime location near Old Montreal and the Metro, making city exploration a breeze for guests. The spacious rooms with kitchen facilities are a highlight, although some guests have noted that they could benefit from updated features and better-equipped kitchens. While the hotel's cleanliness and warm ambiance are frequently commended, there are mentions of the carpets and elevators needing more attention. Service experiences vary, with commendations for staff friendliness contrasting with reports of slow check-ins and disorganization. Opinions on value are split, with some guests satisfied by the competitive pricing and amenities, and others left wanting more for their investment.

The hotel is 5 minutes away from Old Montreal and close to downtown. The premium rooms are amazingly spacious with all the amenities of fridge, microwave, and dishwasher, plus daily snacks and drinks that come with the room. The gym is adequate enough with the necessary equipment. The hotel staff also provided several free drink vouchers at the hotel restaurant. Staff is very helpful and friendly as well, which is always important.

A perfect location to stay the night prior to our cruise. The rooms are well laid out and comfortable. This gave us the option to stay in for dinner if we wanted, but we were so close to Old Montreal, going out for dinner worked as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. This was a great place for our first trip to Montreal.

I say this embassy suite branch has lived up to the standards.
Staffs were courteous and professional, the security upon our entrance was also welcoming and helpful.
Our room was clean and tidy! Room is relaxing and calm.
Parking has a fee of CAD35, spacing and driveway is tight so you know.(see vid for location)
2 complimentary drinks each person which is so cool and made-to-order breakfast at their resto on the groundfloor.
Hotel location is so convenient. Train station Place D’armes is in walking distance and other iconic locations. There is a waiting area infront of the hotel for checkin and waiting for the parking ticket to be issued.

The rooms/suites are spacious. Pillows could be improved, paints could be freshened up in the bathroom to remove peeling paint. Insufficient capacity at the elevators. Breakfast is included, but arrive early otherwise the buffet will be empty. We were told when we arrived that the hot and cold buffet style breakfast was served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The first morning we were there at 7:30 a.m., when it opened. The buffet was full. On Sunday morning, we went there at 10am. The buffet was empty (no eggs, no potatoes, no pancakes, only a few sausages and a piece of bacon remained. We asked if the buffet would be filled. I was told yes. We left at 10:25 a.m. and the buffet still hadn't been filled. There was a person who made eggs on request, but the line up was endless. So we left to eat elsewhere because check out was at 11 a.m., so not the time to wait another 20-25 minutes standing to get an egg. I spoke about it at reception, telling the supervisor that lunch is included in the price so it's not normal that at 10 a.m. the buffets are not filled if we are told that breakfast is served between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.... he told me no, it is free... as if he especially did not want to give a value to the breakfast which is included in our hotel room price. Quite an ordinary response. I told him that I considered that breakfast has a value of +/- $30 in the price of the room, which is why we chose this hotel, that, it seemed to mean nothing to him. Quite an ordinary answer. He said he would mention it.

We booked two suites for the four day long weekend for our group comprising grand parents, daughter and two young grandchildren as the suite format offers some extra space and flexibility and we wanted to concentrate on Old Montreal.
The only plus was the standard Embassy Suites layout format with kitchenette , counter, living room and bedroom which is standard for the brand.
On the negative side there was literally zero housekeeping service for the four days as the hotel claimed staff shortages, , in effect it was an AIRBNB type experience.
The general impression of both the suite and hotel generally is that it is rundown and in need of refurbishment.
There was no change of linen, even Kourig coffee pods were unavailable.
The front desk was only staffed by one or two overwhelmed clerks, the breakfast(included) was generic with little choice in an area that was too small to cope with the number of guests.
Two weeks free drinks per adult per night were offered at a manager’s reception (who wisely chose not to attend) but the offerings were restricted to very cheap brands and we ended up by buying what we normally consume.
In short a very disappointing experience and hotel , there are far better options available in the general location at a similar or lower price level particularly those which incorporate a fine dining restaurant .

As HHonors Diamond member for many years, this hotel is substandard. Upon check-in, front desk person provided incorrect information about debit vs. credit card payment and timing for deposit refund. Jacuzzi in the room did NOT work. Restaurant for breakfast was understaffed for the number of guests served that morning, resulting in very messy food countertops, restaurant floor and lack of silverware. Upon check-out, front desk "supervisor" radioed to housekeeping to check the room and give OK before completing our check out.
For the location, there are a much better hotel options in this great city.

We stayed 1 night. I did the check-in on the app and requested the digital key, but by 6:30 pm the room was still showing as not ready. It turns out you have to go to the desk and check in before it will finalize the room. The good news is they upgraded us to a much, much, much better room than the one I had chosen, so that was a big win. The evening reception and breakfast were both what I expect from Embassy Suites, both very good. Breakfast starts a little later than at most, 6:30 on weekdays. The room was clean and we didn't really have any problems with noise. There is parking directly beneath the hotel, but we arrived early in the day (and had originally planned to park more days than we were staying) so I parked in the garage directly across the street. There was plenty of space on the 2 lower floors (P3 & P4), it seemed secure, and was a little cheaper than the hotel ($25 for 24 hours). The hotel is around the corner from the old city, a 5-minute walk from the Metro, and about a 15-minute walk from Central Station, so very convenient. Depending on the rate, if I had to stay in that part of Montreal again I'd definitely consider staying again.

I stayed with my family of 5 for 3 nights at this hotel in their presidential suite. The lobby is quite intimate but generally, we noticed a lack of welcoming or acknowledgment from staff. We were given our keys with no further voluntary information of the hotels features or housekeeping services (which we found out later they only offer housekeeping every 3 days, so we did not get get any cleaning done during our 3 day stay at all).
Exploring their presidential suite, we noticed immediately that it was dated and that there were a few inconveniences that we would not expect when staying in a “presidential suite,” including missing light bulbs in the bedrooms and work desk, it was dark, the bathroom handle almost falling off, the dishwasher almost fell out of the cabinet when opened, no plates, cups, cutlery of any kind, scissors, or anything useful whatsoever was provided in the kitchen, cleaning was not up to par as there was fingerprints all over the windows. There were problems with wifi, and because housekeeping only comes every 3 days, although we could request supples, we were only provided 2 rolls of TP and not nearly enough supplies such as towels for 5 people. Additionally, they have only one elevator and at peak times we waited 10+ Minutes just to squish into a packed elevator. Taking the stairs was an option, but they lead you to the outside of the building behind a garbage in the back alley so you would need to walk to get back into the hotel if you simply wanted to go to the restaurant inside.

On the bright side, we thought the room was a very big, 2 large bedrooms, large living room, amazing jacuzzi bathtub (although the water came out very slow and it took an hour to fill), yummy complimentary breakfast daily, and complimentary drinks for their “happy hour” every evening. Had it been more updated, friendly greetings and a fix to very simple things in the room we would not feel it was run down.

Unfortunately, we were glad to switch to our new hotel which was located in the building beside us (we had to switch hotels because last minute we had a change of plans and had to stay 2 extra days in Montreal)... The hotel next door was absolutely gorgeous, up to date, had helpful and friendly staff, awesome pool for the kids, gorgeous large room, and cheaper nightly rates.

The room was dirty upon check-in (food on counters, lotion on bathroom countertops, visibly dirty tile floor, and numerous hairs in the tub). We wiped the surfaces ourselves, but had no way to clean the tub or tile floor. Approximately 45 minutes after check-in, we requested that the room be cleaned again, pointing out the specific issues. We were assured that this could be done while we were out to dinner. This was at 7 PM. When we returned to the hotel at midnight, the room had still not been cleaned.

The next morning, we AGAIN requested that the room be cleaned and advised that would be out for several hours. We were told yet again that the room would be cleaned in our absence. We also spoke with the housekeeping supervisor on our way out, because they were doing rooms in the vicinity. When we returned, the room was still not cleaned.

For a third time since check in less than 24 hours, we are trying to find a way for them to expedite the cleaning of our room. Again, this is NOT to clean a room after we had used it. Were given this room in an unacceptable dirty condition and the hotel has still not resolved this issue after almost a whole day.

At this point, it’s become literally bizarre that no one is doing anything. We have been in the lobby for an hour trying to get someone to clean the room we are paying for and can’t use.

To add to the above, the entire hotel is quite dirty, from the parking garage/elevators lobbies to the restaurant. Wifi in the room was also unusable (extremely weak connection).

Avoid at all costs if you value cleanliness or reasonable service.

I mostly used Air Miles to pay for my and my wife's stay so can't complain about the price. This hotel was well situated for us. We walked everywhere we needed to go including Gare Centrale (train station), the Old Port, and meals out.

Potential visitors should be aware that the entire lobby is under renovation so it's very uninviting at the moment.

The suite we stayed in was spacious with a large bathroom (including a 2-person jetted tub), comfortable king bed, and separate sitting area with a gas fireplace.

The kitchen was strange - it came with a huge fridge, a microwave, and a two-cup coffee maker - but there wasn't a single plate, bowl, cup, glass, or cutlery! Just loads of empty cupboards and drawers. (Oh, there were 2 disposable coffee cups and disposable spoons.) I wonder if more would be supplied for long-stay customers?

Accommodation includes complimentary drinks at evening receptions and breakfast, which we didn't use - the latter in part because we were told that there were no vegan options, which is unacceptable in 2024.

As other reviewers have noted, the hotel seems a little dated. There were worn buttons on the climate control panel and on the jetted tub, which had no instructions, and the black out curtains didn't quite close at the top.

Everything else was fine and we had a comfortable, quiet stay.

We stay there in August 2024. The only issue that we encounter was that one of the two elevator stop working. I would suggest to get a room at the 12th floor or lower. The room that we had, it was okay. It wasn't dirty. Plenty of outlets. The seating area for breakfast is kind of small and there are limited out door seating.

Uber or taxi is the most direct. Otherwise, the cheapest is bus 747 that goes from airport to downtown Montreal, and then you can take the subway.
