We visited Le Simone during the Thanksgiving weekend in Canada! Skeptical at first, due to our experience at Niagara, all our fears were put to bay. This place is extremely well located to the Bus & Subway route. Barely minutes away. But since on the inside road, quiet & quite big too. The place is clean and tidy. We took...

This was my second stay @ le simone. I had room 3 with ensuite and I stayed from 26 Oct thru 29 )= 3 nights. The location is great, right off Berri-UQAM station in Rue Saint André. It's on the fringe of the Gay Quarter known as the Village. The B&B and its twin le Chasseur are located Rue Saint...

I stayed at Le Simone for 3 nights over Labour Day weekend. It was a lovely and relaxing stay. The house is quite charming and the breakfasts every morning were pretty good. The people who work here are very nice and friendly. Location is fantastic as well - near the Berri-UQAM metro station and St. Catherine Street. The only "downside"...

I spent two nights at Le Simone in August 2015 and would recommend staying there. The staff are friendly, price is good and location is very close to the main metro station. The room was very spacious and clean and the fresh breakfast every morning was very enjoyable. The only con is the narrow steep staircase to get to your...

A great location with Montreal's bixi bikes in front (use them). The reception and hosting by Rock is friendly and memorable. The atmosphere is homely and the roof top patio is really nice. Breakfast was good (incl fresh baked bread and fresh fried egg or pancake). The room was quiet big with a decent bed. Would return.

I booked this B&B for our trip out for Osheaga and have been very pleasantly surprised with the quality and service of this hotel. When I arrived the lady who checked me in was very accommodating and offered to give me information on what I should visit in Montreal. The check in is only between 12 and 8pm so if...

This is a cute little b&b in Montreal, close to the Latin Quarter and Village neighborhoods. The rooms are small, but air conditioned and nice. We stayed on the bottom floor, which was convenient - all rooms upstairs required you to carry your bags up a narrow stairway. Breakfast is freshly made and fairly good, although it was served outside,...

This B&B is within walking distance of Downtown Montreal. Never needed to use the subway, but there were nearby stops. Easy to get to Old Town and Rue de St Catherine. The room was small, but cute and funky. Breakfast was wonderful!

A favorite way to experience a little bit of Paris is to stay in a b&b in Montreal. We prefer to feel like we're at an authentic home away from home when we travel. Le Simone provided us with exactly what we were yearning for. For the experience we had a sizable room with our own bathroom and a view...

We stayed two nights. The location is near by old town area with 10 minutes walk. There are hundreds restaurants, pubs and cafes surrounding. The own and staffs were kind and gave us information to explore the city. The house is around 140 years old, the stairs is narrow and steep though, if you have big suitcase, it might take...

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
