Excellent hotel
Two blocks from the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, but it is an excellent option because this hotel is cheaper and much quieter, since the chateau is very touristy
The double rooms are huge, the bathroom is compartmentalized, modern, super comfortable, excellent shower, with robes, slippers, coffee maker, hot water kettle, very well furnished.
A la carte breakfast, normal prices about 13 Canadian dollars and the LES MONDES restaurant is very good for dinner, although one block away we ate very delicious "poutine" in a beautiful restaurant and pub: D'ORSAY

Perfect scores on the things that matter: incredibly comfortable bed and pillows, location is right in the heart of Old Quebec, super clean, great staff, and the shower is the best I have experienced in any hotel (3 jets, a handheld, and a rain shower head, great water pressure, never ending hot water, and an exhaust fan that actually keeps the bathroom free of steam). Picky on my part is that room service is more like take out delivery. No tray with real dishes and flatware. Instead you get cardboard containers handed to you with plastic forks even though we ordered from the hotel’s in-house restaurant. Very happy with my stay and we’ll definitely go back!

We spent our American Thanksgiving weekend in old town Quebec city at the Clarendon. It was a fabulous central location for old town located right below the Frontenac castle, near the Notre Dame Basilica,, and just a short funicular ride from The Quartier Petite Champlain. Keep in mind this is the oldest hotel in Quebec city so there is only one elevator and the rooms are on the smaller side. Once you remember that, you’ll have a fantastic time. The walls are thick, so you don’t hear your neighbor and you certainly don’t hear the noise outside. You can hear the bells from the local church and the carolers singing for the Christmas market if you really listen for them.

We stayed in a superior queen room on the fifth floor. This gave us two queen size beds, and a newly refurbished bathroom with a rainhead shower and body jets… and a heated floor. It was perfect. The beds were wonderful and were made with down pillows and a down comforter. I loved snuggling in when it was cold outside. My husband called it my marshmallow bed. It wasn’t too soft, just very luxurious.

All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly. Everyone we interacted with spoke both French and English. We purchased the breakfast package with our room which was very convenient for us. The breakfasts were quite sizable which allowed us to only have a late lunch and then enjoy some local desserts or charcuterie for dinner.

We had a wonderful time. It would have been nice if there was a fireplace in the lobby and some comfortable seating. There was very limited room to sit and relax and talk with fellow travelers or have a glass of wine. The other consideration may be a remodeling, or re-theming of The restaurant. It was very bright, colored and loud. It seems to me that a more intimate setting matching. The rest of the hotel would be more appropriate. These are just cosmetics and certainly don’t change our opinion of the Clarendon. Magnifique

This hotel was just awesome. I would book it again and highly suggest it. The location can’t be beat … short walk to almost everything. I know others have suggested using public parking to save a few $$$ but the valet service was worth it. Just pull up out front.
The room was perfect. Very spacious, remodeled, awesome bathroom. Other reviews have said the rooms were small but if you book the executive room, it’s very large and not expensive.
The breakfast in the restaurant was really good. If you’re out early, many of the restaurants near the hotel are not open early so the hotel restaurant is a good option for those early days.
The staff was very good, very helpful. Didn’t wait for checkin or checkout or elevators.
Only one suggestion, a couple bottles of water in the room would be nice.

Overall, stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Very nice hotel with an excellent location in Old Quebec 2 steps from the Fairmont Hotel, City Hall, Cathedral. Comfortable rooms and bedding, well equipped for superior rooms. The rooms were booked by our agency with lunch pt.
Flat on breakfast: we have to choose among the proposals and we can not ask for extra without paying, for example it is coffee or orange juice, it is 2 toasts and no discount....
This hotel offers valet parking at CAD 34 per night, while the nearby City Hall parking is CAD 17 per night

We stayed for 3 nights prior to embarking on a cruise from Quebec. Initially we were allocated a smart, charmingly furnished room that was rather too small for us and all of our cruise luggage. Reception managed to source us a
much bigger room on Floor 6 with superb views of the city for an extra $40 per night (which we felt was well worth it).
The hotel is in a beautiful building, ideally located for exploring the old city and within easy each of numerous cafes, bars and restaurants. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
We didn’t eat in the hotel so I can’t comment on the restaurant.
My only very slight quibble was around the pod operated coffee machines in the rooms which I found a little difficult to work, especially if you want tea (of which there was only Earl Grey - yuk!-and sadly no English Breakfast or Orange Pekoe).
Overall, however, a lovely hotel that we hope to go back to….

I can usually find a flaw (or more) with even the finest of hotels. However, my recent experience at the Hotel Clarendon was without a fault. The hotel is the perfect blend of historic charm with all the modern comforts. Our room was located in the section of the Mansard roof that was added sometime after the hotel was built. The room had a gorgeous large oval window with a postcard perfect view. The room was spotless, the bed was comfy. All the amenities were provided, robes, slippers, coffeemaker. The bathroom was bright and modern with surprisingly plush fluffy towels. The hotel is immaculate and impeccably maintained. The location cannot be beat. It is in the Upper Town right near the more famous hotel (however at a mere fraction of the cost). We had breakfast each morning in the delightful restaurant off the lobby (however not included) The breakfast offerings were varied, delicious, and reasonably priced. In fact, our entire stay was incredibly well priced and a great value for the quality provided. I highly recommend this hotel!

We just returned from a long weekend in Quebec City. This hotel exceeded all expectations. The hotel from the time we walked in was perfect. The staff was warm and welcoming. The lobby was very pretty with a restaurant in the lobby with a welcoming bar. The room was exactly as pictured online. The bed was very comfortable. The room had everything including a great view. The shower is very large with strong water pressure. The hotel is situated in the heart of old Quebec with tons of restaurants surrounding the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room had all of the amenities we needed, the staff were all very helpful and the location is perfect for exploring old Quebec Town. We ate breakfast one of the mornings and it was great. A nice change from the breakfast buffet. It was A La Carte with a nice variety of items. It would have been a 5 but the air conditioning in the rooms was noisy. We swapped rooms after the first night (very efficiently dealt with by the desk) since we found it too noisy. Our new room was less noisy. The valet parking was also great - $30 per night was also great value.

The hotel was perfectly located. We were celebrating our anniversary and were given an upgrade.

We used the valet service throughout our stay, which offered great service at a good rate.

Our room was on the 6th floor, facing the street, with a beautiful view of the surroundings and no road noise to disturb us.

The room was clean and nicely furnished. We would have appreciated free bottled water, but that’s a small detail. Sleep quality was very good.

Highly recommended.
