Hotel Clarendon garners praise for its exceptional service, with guests often lauding the helpful staff and efficient valet parking; however, a few mention the elevators can be slow. The hotel's amenities, including contemporary bathrooms and a praised breakfast, contribute to its value despite the occasional remark about smaller room sizes. The cleanliness and atmosphere receive commendations, with the hotel's stylish decor and historical charm being highlighted. Additionally, its coveted location in Old Quebec places guests at the heart of historic sites and local attractions.

We were greeted by a lovely young lady on reception who offered for me to continue to practice my French or speak English. We chose to speak English as her English was much better than my French. She was very kind and helpful. We were escorted to our room with our luggage which was very helpful. The room was quite large. We loved it having a sofa and plenty of room. The only negative if there was one was the view from the window was of a fire escape. Everything else was lovely. The bathroom was excellent and the sliding door meant there was lots of room. It is in a lovely location in the old city with the basilica just a few steps away and lots of lovely bars and restaurants close by. I would happily recommend this hotel to other travellers and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again in the future.

The hotel is beautiful and cozy like an old world European hotel. Our executive suite was very large but also cozy and had plenty of usable furniture. It was not at all like other hotels that just give you a large empty room that feels like a hospital - this hotel room is comfortable and welcoming; somewhere you want to relax. There is plenty of privacy with the blackout curtains, and the room is well insulated from sound. We stayed New Year's Eve and with a concert right outside; we only heard faint bass. The staff is friendly and the location is perfect, right in the middle of old town, near good cafes, restaurants and shoppes. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty terrible, but there are plenty of excellent places to eat nearby.

This is a wonderful old-fashioned hotel in the heart of old Quebec. Our room was comfortably furnished and the bathroom was ultra modern. Staff were lovely too. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was plated and not a buffet. The hotel was right by the Christmas market and 5 minutes walk to the Chateau Frontenac, the funicular, the cathedral and many other interesting sights. Lots of great restaurants in the vicinity too.

We went to Quebec City with a bus tour and stayed at the Clarendon. This is an order hotel but very lovely. It is perfectly located so you are close to everything in old Quebec. Every person working at this hotel was pleasant and spoke English to us. We had an included breakfast that we chose 1 of four different choices. Every day I had scrambled eggs with potatoes, ham, sausage and bacon. No substitutions. I am a tea drinker and they only had English breakfast tea on the last day of our visit. We did miss the breakfast buffet we had on our last stay, when they served small but delicious croissants. There is valet parking if you drive into the city. It’s a five minute walk, to many restaurants, convenient stores and Petit Champlain. We were right across the road from many of the venders at the German Christmas Market. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Quebec City

We spent our American Thanksgiving weekend in old town Quebec city at the Clarendon. It was a fabulous central location for old town located right below the Frontenac castle, near the Notre Dame Basilica,, and just a short funicular ride from The Quartier Petite Champlain. Keep in mind this is the oldest hotel in Quebec city so there is only one elevator and the rooms are on the smaller side. Once you remember that, you’ll have a fantastic time. The walls are thick, so you don’t hear your neighbor and you certainly don’t hear the noise outside. You can hear the bells from the local church and the carolers singing for the Christmas market if you really listen for them. We stayed in a superior queen room on the fifth floor. This gave us two queen size beds, and a newly refurbished bathroom with a rainhead shower and body jets… and a heated floor. It was perfect. The beds were wonderful and were made with down pillows and a down comforter. I loved snuggling in when it was cold outside. My husband called it my marshmallow bed. It wasn’t too soft, just very luxurious. All of the staff at the hotel were very friendly. Everyone we interacted with spoke both French and English. We purchased the breakfast package with our room which was very convenient for us. The breakfasts were quite sizable which allowed us to only have a late lunch and then enjoy some local desserts or charcuterie for dinner. We had a wonderful time. It would have been nice if there was a fireplace in the lobby and some comfortable seating. There was very limited room to sit and relax and talk with fellow travelers or have a glass of wine. The other consideration may be a remodeling, or re-theming of The restaurant. It was very bright, colored and loud. It seems to me that a more intimate setting matching. The rest of the hotel would be more appropriate. These are just cosmetics and certainly don’t change our opinion of the Clarendon. Magnifique

Me and my friend had a lovely 3-night stay at Hotel Clarendon. The facilities in the room and the hotel itself were spot on. Best air-con I've ever experienced in a hotel - quickly changed temperature, quiet. The location of the hotel is perfect - central to everything we wanted to see and do within the city walls area of Quebec City. The reception staff were brilliant - very helpful when we had a question or needed advice for eating out. We ate breakfast in it's Brasserie Les Mordus each morning - the food was delicious each time. I would recommend staying here when visiting Quebec City.

Location,Location,Location! Great hotel with an excellent staff and great restaurants in a location that was perfect for visiting Old Quebec City. The price was fair and as some have indicated the rooms are a little small but exactly what is expected visiting an older European style hotel. We were staying pre-cruise and the taxi ride was about $8.00 to the port, very close. There was nothing to complain about at this property and much to praise. You can spend more somewhere else but unsure why! The valet is happy to hold your bags after checkout to allow time to visit the city.

This hotel is in Old Quebec and is a quaint place with much historic charm. The beds were comfortable, the shower was top notch and it was a very comfortable and immaculate room. Staff at the front desk were more than helpful with anything you needed, as well as directions, and suggestions for places to eat. The hotel itself was close to restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Very good choice of hotel in Quebec. Excellent location in the old city. We stayed two nights prior to a cruise and enjoyed the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did not arrive until midnight, from the airport, but there were no issues checking in at that hour. Room comfortable but a bit small for two people with suitcases. We booked a corporate room, as did a friend of ours who was travelling with us, on her own. She got a room which was quite a bit bigger than ours. This was really our main disappointment. Lifts were very slow, and often full. We were only on the 2nd floor, so made use of the stairs a few times, as it was quicker. We didn't mind the exercise! We did not try breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. If we ever return to Quebec (which we would love to do - love the city!) we would stay at the Clarendon again.
