Brand new hotel with good quality, spacious, comfortable rooms.
Good quality of sleep at night with no traffic noise.
Front desk staff is very friendly, professional and efficient.
The only point for improvement is their poor internet speed, which is on the lower end and not enough for remote working. Most of the hotels in Canada these days offer 50MBPS or more WiFi speeds, so they definitely could do better to give them a five points rating.

Stayed there for one night. Wanted to save cash but still be able to spend day seeing the city. This place is on the edge of the city near the airport. No where near old Quebec, but very clean and great rooms for the price. Would stay again easily.

Most of the ratings about this hotel were positive so I booked an Easter vacation there. What I read were right. The place is a Hotel/Motel with the motel section at the front and the hotel building adjacent to it in the rear. It is nice and clean place. The rooms are updated and good size for two people. Our window was facing a garage so don't expect much of a view. There is also a restaurant/bar on the property and you get a 15% discount for residences of the motel/hotel. There are lots of free parking on both sides of the building. The location is a bit far from Old Quebec but a 5 minute drive from Galeries de la Capitale the largest shopping center with an indoor amusement park and skating rink in eastern Canada.

It is our first hotel stay after the pandemic. Hotels are so expensive in Quebec City specially near Old Quebec, so we opted for this hotel. 3 days before the arrival I called the hotel and spoke to Mario that I be given a room in the newer building with wood floors (no carpet) because I have severe asthma. He took note of my request. On the day of arrival, I called to request for early check-in at 2pm and Narin at front desk was so nice and so courteous, she is an excellent customer service person. She accommodated our request and upon check in I was told that Melanie personally handled the cleaning of the room. And yes indeed the room was perfectly clean. Thank you so much Melanie. We had a restful night and amazing stay. The kids enjoyed the pool and the hot breakfast buffet was excellent. Thank you Quality Inn staff. We willl make sure to stay with you again next visit because your location is short drive to all the places we wanna go.

We had booked a room down the street from this motel but had to leave due to the filth and smell. We lost $170 and had to pay for this room so it was an expensive night. But, it was truly worth it because this room was fantastic. We wished we had an excuse to stay another night. Newly renovated, spotless, friendly service and a very, very good breakfast - what more could you ask for? Do yourself a favour and read my review on the other place (to avoid it) and then book a room here.

We stayed at this motel for one night (I understand there is also an actual hotel at the property?).

While the place was relatively cheap (though still far from the city) it was simply not worth it. The motel had a very trashy feel to it, the room smelled of smoke, and the bedding was clearly not washed properly since it had a slight hint of vomit odor to it. We also couldn't stop scratching while in bed and felt disgusting sleeping there but since we got there so late we just wanted to pass out.

Overall this place is very subpar relative to all other places I stayed at (including our tent). Will definitely not stay here again and do not recommend to anyone else.

We were going to be in Quebec City for one night, this time on a stricter budget, and we found Hotel Motel Bonaparte through Trip Advisor. The (relative) price was good, the reviews were overall OK and the pictures looked better than I'd expect for the price, so we booked. The info was clear, check-in at 4:00 (check-out at 11:00), but we arrived in Quebec at 1:00 and wanted to drop our bags and go get some lunch and start seeing the sites, so we passed by the hotel. Well, the reception at the reception was crisp at best. I said we had a reservation, she asked for my last name, I gave it, she put it in the computer and asked for my first name, I gave it (I guarantee you there wasn't someone else with the same last name) and she entered it. I explained that I knew check-in was at 4, but asked if we might check in now? She said the room wasn't ready. I said ok, when might we come back? 4:00 - blunt, to the point, no explanation. Now, their check-in time was clear when booking, but I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and I've never found one that wouldn't at least try to accommodate an early arrival. Here, there was no attempt to accommodate, explain or apologize. It was so blunt, we left feeling snubbed and wondering if we'd done something wrong. Came back at 4:00 and checked in with a different person at the desk - no friendlier. I was confused about the total amount compared to the booking confirmation (which made it seem that there was a last minute reduction). No. I asked about the telephone fee of $2.99, for which the booking info said "There is a CAD$2.99 fee for telephone use." I wasn't planning on using their phone. She said it was written in the reservation. The room lived up to the photos, was large, clean, nicely painted. But everyone else we met in Quebec City was warm and welcoming - not at Hotel Bonaparte. As the saying goes, "You never get a second chance to make a good first impression." My advice, expect it, ignore it and go enjoy this beautiful city.

Hello, I can't speak for the motel section but I stayed many nights on the hotel side. It is clean and has what you need: a fridge, a microwave, flat screen TV and wifi. The hotel is well located and you can get anywhere you need in a few minutes. The adjacent restaurant tended to be closed when I needed it but there is a McDonald's and a subway accross the street in case of emergencies. But, being in Quebec City, finding a decent place to eat is the least of your worries. You'll also find a convenience store 2 minutes away. The staff is very nice and helpful. Now for the downside....there is only one thing which was within their control: the mattress is not the best. I stayed there many times for the reasons above but each time, I wake up 3 or 4 times a night because the mattress just hurts and you have to switch position. Now, for the stuff they can't control: because it is affordable, you get customers who may not be the most considerate: speaking loudly in the hall very early of very late, drinking, slamming doors.... this place does the job but don't expect to be well rested.

We travelled with kids for a business trip. We searched for a good price hotel in Québec to cut the trip in a half. We stayed 2 days. We met 3 different people and each time, they were welcoming and helpful. It smelled great in the room and it was super clean. There is NO coffee machine but cofee is available in the lobby. Note you can walk to convenience store, McDonald and Subway. You are close to Galerie de la Capitale, maybe 5-10 to the airport (and easy to drive). Restaurants deliver this area. Not that close to Vieux Québec if that's what you want. It's close to pretty much everywhere you need to go. It was very quiet (a concern when you have kids). You don't hear your neiboors.

Went there for one night in Quebec city. When we arrived, there was a party just beginning in the room next door. Room smelled awfull, humidity and old carpet. We asked to switch in another room, they told us it was not possible, because it was full... it was clearly not. Called earlier that week to make sure they had our reservation, the clerk told me that I could easily pay an extra to get a room in the hotel portion if I was not satisfied of the room at arrival, well guest what: no room available either! Parking was half empty... When we decided to leave for another hotel in that surrounding, then the clerk told us that he could maybe arrange a switch... we left anyway and went to the Times (paid for both room!), which was not significantly more expensive but clearly worth it!!

How far away is the cruise ship dock ?
Answer from Emmesey D
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico36 contributions36 helpful votes
The cruise ship dock is in Old Quebec, This is on Hamel boulevard, at the other end of the city. Not far, but you will need a car or a cab. If you come only once in Quebec City, it's worth finding a place in the Old Town, si yo can stroll in the streets at night. IF you are on a low budget, try a B & B,

There's no pool at the hotel but you have the access to a pool at our other hotel for free if you show them your hotel's key! And the pool at the Hotel & Suites Monte-Cristo is at only 1,6 km :)
