This hotel is perfectly tucked away behind the Chateau Frontenac overlooking the St. Lawrence River as you walk out the main doors. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast that is offered is very good (not your typical pre-fab American continental breakfast, which was refreshing). 4/5 simply because it's not a 5 star hotel, the rooms are small (not that you'll be spending much time in them), and the walls seemed thin though we had quiet neighbours that weekend. I would absolutely recommend this place, and stay there again.
First, the location is perfect! So central to Old Quebec & only steps from the famous Chateau Frontenac. Parking is a bit challenging, fortunately the hotel offers a valet service (no charge with some packages). The bilingual front desk staff were great. We had booked the Bellevue Prestige room and were not disappointed. It was spacious with a king bed & large bathroom as well as a sitting area. The room was on the main level near the front desk so we were a liitle nervous about the potential for noise, but it wasn't an issue. The view from our room was excellent, the St. Lawrence river in the background & the historic Govenor's Garden park across the street. The hotel offers free WiFi, a decent continental breakfast, 15% off various nearby restaurants & a free coffee machine that makes everything from espresso to cafe latte's! Highly recommend this Hotel when staying in Old Quebec. Note: the shower is a stand alone corner unit, so it's a bit snug.…
A great location in Old Quebec, so all the sights are within easy walking distance. The rooms are small but comfortable and well equipped. The staff are very efficient and helpful. We didn't have breakfast there. A relaxing stay.
I cannot imagine any hotel in Old Quebec being in a more ideal location. It is right in the middle of all the sights, but is like an island of tranquility in that it fronts a beautiful park that slopes down to the “Terrasse Dufferin” and a short walk diagonally across this park will bring one to the entrance of Chateau Frontenac’s interior courtyard (a great shortcut when it rains) Parking is available for $25 Canadian per day and it is a bargain. Once one pulls up to the front of the hotel to check-in, a valet will park your car in the rear parking lot. Hot and cold drinks are available in the lobby 24/7 and an excellent breakfast buffet including hot croissants (regular and chocolate filled), cheese, bagels, fruit cereal and hard boiled eggs is available for $15 Canadian. Restaurants in Quebec are not cheap, and tourists soon realize the value and convenience of taking their breakfast at the hotel. The rooms are quite modern and comfortable with a small flat screen tv, closet, arm chair and desk & chair. The shower had plenty of hot water and included dispensers for body soap, shampoo and conditioner. The bed was excellent. An ice machine is available on the bottom floor. The heater worked fine.…
Staff was very nice and helpful ,our room was very comfy, and they served a delicious breakfast. We had a room with a view of the river and boardwalk.Close to many restaurants and sights.Yes we would go back to this hotel.
This hotel is well located in the heart of Vieux Quebec. The entrance is a bit daunting if you have heavy bags as there is a short but steep staircase to get to the front door. However, the staff are willing to assist and once inside the hotel there is an elevator. All the staff, with one exception, were friendly and spoke good English and were keen to help. The exception was one sour younger man who was new, apparently. The 2 comfortable rooms we had did not have a fridge which was surprising and disappointing but ice was available from the basement level.
We stayed for 2 nights in September, 2022. The hotel is a smaller, boutique hotel, just steps away (across a small park) from the Chateau Frontenac. Everything is walkable. The car was taken away by a valet and we had no need for it for the duration of our stay. Our room was lovely, with a king bed, on the 2nd floor, overlooking the park. I think ours was one of the larger rooms - peeking inside other open doors, many looked smaller. The room was very clean with all the amenities that you would ever need, including a small fridge as well as 2 easy chairs. The bed was king size and comfortable. The windows cranked open and there were screens on them to let in the fresh air and birdsong. The hotel was booked right up when we were there, so the reception and breakfast area got a little crowded at times. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We had 2 dogs with us and they were welcomed for $25/dog/night. It was a bit of a splurge to stay here, but so very worth it for the ambiance and the convenience of being steps away from the Terrasse Dufferin, the Old Town, and Lower Town.…
A very small Boutique Hotel in a great location for walking the sites of Quebec City. The location could not be beat. Not even a 5 minutes walk to the boardwalk and other sites. The hotel itself is older and rooms very small but all that you need. The breakfast was "fine", but nothing exceptional. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Good value for the $$.
Just completed a memorable five night stay at Hotel Chateau Bellevue and would definitely return. Great value, and the location can’t be beat. The hotel is on a beautiful, quiet street directly across from a park that is a national historic site facing the St. Lawrence River. The landmark Fairmont Chateau Frontenac is adjacent, and the property is a block or two away in either direction from the restaurants and attractions of Old Quebec and many other beautiful and historic sites. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the room was not cleaned for the entire stay, so if you book, be sure to request housekeeping services during your stay!
Great hotel with very friendly staff. The only negatives were that there was a lot of hair on the floor and chairs from previous guests and no lotion in the dispenser. Superb location, comfortable bed.
