This is a lovely historic hotel on Old Quebec steps from the Chateau Frontenac and the Citadel.
The rooms retain their charm but have been retrofitted with modern amenities like a nespresso machine and blow dryer.
The bathroom in our room was nice but very tiny which I only mention because some people may take issue. Likewise because it is an old building there is no elevator.
Parking is not in a hotel, but the hotel staff will give great recommendations. We parked in a lot down the hill from the hotel which was reasonably priced.
When booking directly with the hotel they offer free breakfast at a nearby restaurant (when we stayed it was La Buche) which was a very nice perk.
Reception was done remotely so staff is not on site, but they are extremely responsive and it’s amazing what they can do remotely! I’m only sorry I didn’t get to meet the wonderful staff!
The hotel is a gem and I hope I get to stay here again sometime soon!

We spent 1 night in this charming, historic hotel. Virtual check in was easy, and staff contacted us several times by text and email during our stay to ask if everyting was going as expected and asking if there was anything more they could do to ensure our comfort. Very attentive! The room was clean. We were given vouchers for a free breakfast at a restaurant on the next street because we had booked directly through the hotel (which really did give us the best price!) I assumed the breakfast would be a very simple thing, since we were given only 4 menu choices. But wow! What a great breakfast, with all the trimmings. Restaurant was La Buche. With breakfast included, this was a really good deal. We were lucky enough to find great parking too. Right up the street at the junction of Ste-Geneviève and St.Denis. Outdoor parking for 20$ /24 hours. Not sure if we could have gone in and out, but we didn't need to. The weather was great and since the location is right in the Old City, we walked everywhere. All in all a great experience and I would definitely stay here again.

A superb experience. The BnB/hotel is in a wonderful location, the rooms are unique and well appointed and the staff is very attentive to guests needs. A wonderful experience in a wonderful city! Currently it's with remote attendants, but staff is nearby and always reachable on call or via convenient chat. Highly recommended, including the sister restaurants La Buche and Don Vegane!

The hotels greatest asset is its prime location, set in the heart of Old Quebec, where everything you'll want to see and visit is within easy walking distance of the hotel.
This hotel also operates a contactless check-in and check out system so you never get to meet anyone, apart from the occasional housekeeping staff. Communication via text and email was quick and effective, but it would have been nice to have had a person to see face-to-face.
The hotel needs investment, particularly on the interior decor. Carpets are old and stained in several areas, our fridge in our room wasn't working, the coffee machine was also out of order and you'll need to ask if you need any room glasses or replacement items. We also discovered blood on our toilet when we first checked in, which we ended cleaning ourselves.
Adam and the team could have one of the best hotels in the area if only the business would reinvest in the establishment and really go the extra mile in looking at delivering an experience people would remember for the right reasons.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re glad you appreciated our prime location in Old Quebec and found our communication effective. However, I’m truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered with the decor, amenities, and cleanliness. This is not the standard we strive for, and I apologize for the discomfort it caused during your stay. Your feedback about the need for investment is invaluable, and I assure you it will be shared with our management team. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future to provide a much improved experience.

We stayed at this hotel for a week while in Quebec City. We booked it because it was reasonably priced and it was one of the few with kitchen amenities.
I will start with the things I liked about the hotel. The checkin and checkout process was very easy. They will send you a couple of codes to get into the front door and your room a few days before checkin. I really liked not having to worry about room keys. The location cannot be beat. It is only a minute away from the boardwalk. All the sites are within walking distance but it’s far enough from the busier areas that it’s nice and quiet on the street. All you will hear is the occasional horse or car that drives by. The kitchen in the basement was super helpful for toasting bread, boiling water, and it was nice that dirty dishes didn’t have to accumulate in our room. They also had an oven to cook things but we didn’t use it, after all, we were on vacation! We were very lucky to get a room on the main floor so no stairs for us! There is a small fridge and a nespresso machine in the room. I really liked the shower and I liked that there are extra supplies in the basement if you needed extra towels or whatnot.
The things that I didn’t like about the hotel which might be a dealbreaker for some, is that the walls are super thin. I know that this is probably to be expected for older buildings but I have stayed in older buildings in Europe and it wasn’t like this. You could hear the other rooms’ tv, conversations, showers, footsteps. While being on the bottom floor was nice to not have do stairs (no elevator in the building), perhaps an upper floor room would have alleviated this issue. The front door definitely needs a door stopper because everytime someone would go out, the door would slam and not only can we hear it, it shook the walls of our room. It was fine during the day whilst just hanging out, but it was annoying at night. There were no outlets near the bed and we had to unplug some of the other things to just have enough outlets for devices. I think there needs to be an upgrade done to accommodate for modern devices. When we booked in Expedia, it says that there was a water dispenser, and while that is true (it’s a water dispenser as part of the big fridge downstairs), the filter indicator was on the entire week we were there and was not replaced. Expedia also said daily housekeeping but that isn’t true, however most items you need are downstairs and you can easily text for more coffee pods. There was no air conditioning and it could get hot and stuffy in the room. The bed and pillows weren’t the comfiest I have had. And lastly, we requested for an extra hour to do a late checkout because of our flight time and they charged $20 for it ($30 if you wanted an hour and a half). They texted a reminder at 9am about check out and someone was knocking at our door to remind us again at 10:45am that check out was at 11. However, they do allow for baggage storage.
All in all, it is a good hotel for a shorter stay and you will just be out and about and just need a place to sleep. It is definitely one of the more reasonably priced ones for the location.

Hello Grace, I am happy to see that you have enjoyed our location that cannot be beat and our efficient self-check-in process. Given that we are a historic building, it has to be considered that the insulation will not be as good as newly built hotels. I'm sorry to see it had such an impact on your stay. Our hotel does have air conditioning that is installed in every room starting in June. We've experienced very unusual heat waves in the last weeks during the day accompanied by very cold temperatures at night. Therefore, we chose not to install the AC's to prevent our guests from being cold at night. We did have multiple fans and portable air conditioning that were available for use. We are available at all times and it would've been our pleasure to assist on that matter. I am shocked to read that you were disturbed considering that you had paid extra for a late check-in. It is definetly not the service we want to offer our guests and I will make sure to let the housekeeping staff know. We do send a text message before check-out but it is simply meant to be a reminder for the check-out procedure. All things considered, I am glad that you have enjoyed our beautiful city and very much hope to see you again in the future. Steffany

Absolutely horrible ,filthy, full of mildew smelled bad, hot. The pictures are not even remotely similar to what the rooms look like ,
Pictures must’ve been taken 50 years ago.
Originally reserved two nights left first thing following morning after the first night, would have rather slept in the car.
When we checked out early, Sophie (staff) agreed to refund 50%, after 12 days of constant contact with credit card company and management refund was only for 20%. Received letter requesting signature that if they refunded an additional $83.00 I would not speak of my experience on any public forum or social media, and if I did I could be held liable for losses. Way to many hotels in Quebec City to risk staying at this one. Not a good way to do business.

We take your feedback very seriously, and we deeply regret that your experience was not up to the standards we aim to provide. Traveled to Quebec with my parents and partner. We booked 2 rooms here. The hotel was advertised as having air conditioning and daily housekeeping. We arrived and neither room had air conditioning in outdoor tempertaures exceeding 30 degrees. We were expecting daily housekeeping as the hotel advertised, but did not get any housekeeping and was not provided with enough towels, cups, coffee pods for the duration of our stay. We contacted the owner for new supplies who was quite dismissive. Additionally, our room was VERY noisy. From the second floor, we could hear everyone entering the building, walking up the stairs, and talking in their rooms. If you are looking for a place falsely advertised and you like to lay awake in bed all night listening to your neighbours in extreme heat, this would be the place for you.

That being said, you also could've reached out by text message for any demand. Given that we are a historic building, it has to be considered that the insulation will not be as good as newly built hotels. All things considered, I'm sorry to see that all these factors had such a big impact on your stay. Being a very small hotel, 1 star reviews considerably affect us and we want to make it up to you and hopefully restore your faith in our team and establishment. Please call us so we can discuss, 418-694-0429.

Upon arriving in our room on the ground floor, we found it to be quite hot. However, we thought that maybe the A/C had been turned off, so we turned it on and hoped that it would cool off. We set off to explore a bit. On our return, the room seemed even hotter, and we had a night of very little sleep due to extreme heat. The air conditioning was letting out a tiny bit of cool air that could only be felt by lying on one side of one of the beds. In the morning, we contacted the off site staff, and said that the air conditioning appeared to not be working properly, and stated that we had experienced an awful night of no sleep. We asked if they could at least find a fan, and have somebody look at the unit. We were told that they would look for a fan. By late afternoon, my son, walked back to the hotel for a nap, and the room was unbearable. There was no fan delivered. When the rest of us returned, we were shocked with the heat, and literally sat with cold cloths on our heads attempting to keep ourselves cool. We immediately tried to contact the off site staff again. Response was slow, and when we finally heard back, we were told that they couldn’t find a fan. My husband said that there was no way that we could stay in the room with the temperature the way it was, and asked would they be able to move us. The lady we spoke to said she would call back in 5 minutes to either change rooms, or move us to one of their other properties. Great we thought. However, no phone call came, only a text to say that they couldn’t move us anywhere and that they could refund us but could be of no further help. Although we appreciated the refund, the hotel had all day to deal with this issue, but couldn’t even find a fan. This left us, on our vacation, spending time trying to relocate. Thank God we found somewhere, but we specifically chose the St. Pierre due to its location, and we are now considerably further away. I rate this hotel 2/10 for customer service. They were not quick to respond, and we felt they should have called us back and offered a personal apology rather than a terse text of “so sorry”. Would definitely not stay again

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and inconvenience you faced during your stay. It's disheartening to hear that the air conditioning in your room was not functioning properly, and we deeply regret that our efforts to address the issue fell short. We understand how frustrating it must have been to spend your vacation in an uncomfortably hot room, and we’re truly sorry that we were unable to provide a fan or an alternative room in a timely manner. This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and we apologize for the lack of prompt communication and personal attention. While we are glad that you were able to find other accommodations, we regret that we could not meet your expectations and provide the comfortable stay you deserved. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will be reviewing our procedures to ensure that situations like this are handled with the urgency and care they require in the future. Once again, we apologize for your experience and thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future to provide the service and comfort that you originally sought.

We opted for this hotel because we wanted a place within the old city walls, and this place seemed reasonable budget wise and included breakfast when booking directly. The breakfast at La Buche that was included, might have been worth the price in and of itself! Definitely recommend eating there.
The hotel itself had some distinct old-world character which we thoroughly enjoyed, but modern conveniences with good wifi, nice bathroom (although small but we knew that going in), and decent decor. The bed was average to good, although many people had indicated they found it extremely comfortable.
However, the location can't really be beat, one block away from the frontenac and the promenade, with a cute little park in between. You step out of the hotel and turn right and see the St. Lawrence directly in front of you, can't be beat. Would definitely recommend the hotel to people looking for a quaint, reasonable hotel but are most interested in location.

We really love this hotel. Even before we arrived, hotel team members communicated with us via messenger, provided all info that we were asking about related to room, parking, etc. It was very helpful, following their instructions, we got parking 150 meters from the hotel. Check in and check out via internet. so you may arrive anytime and be able to check in. It is very convenient and easy.
Hotel location is perfect, can not be better, literally next to Frontenac and river, but located on a quiet street. It is very clean having beautiful halls and rooms with Victorian era design.
Next time for Quebec city trip we would definitely stay in Le Chateau de Pierre, but may be using their direct site for booking.
