More than a boutique hotel, Auberge Saint-Antoine is a window on Québec City’s past. Hundreds of artifacts from both the French and English regimes were discovered during an extensive archaeological dig on the property. In this unique contemporary space, the past has been audaciously re-interpreted for you to savour.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a large corner suite with lots of natural light and French doors to a balcony. At first I was not a fan of the room because of the eclectic decor and worn wooden floors. The mattress in the sofa bed was quite thin and uncomfortable for our son. I have told the hotel. We were offered another suite but after looking at it, it was not as spacious as the one we were in. The room grew on us. The hotel offers all of the amenities of a 5-star hotel with turn down service, robes, slippers, a bidet, water and coffee. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, especially Matt and Genny at concierge. A little secret that we did not find out until the last day is that there is a movie theater within the facility. Matt set it up for us and brought us popcorn corn. Had the most amazing cocktail at Bar Artefwct. The mixologist came to check to make sure that the drinks was perfect. We ate breakfast at Chez Muffy every day. On departure day we ordered room service and the food arrived in less than 30 minutes. There is a spa and gym that we checked out but did not use. The hotel is perfectly situated within walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the funicular that takes you up to the upper city for a cost of $5 each way. There is no hustle and bustle in this hotel. There is valet parking and oh by the way the hotel have cars that they will rent to guests. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else if we were to return to Quebec.

The hotel has a great location, near the historical center of Old Quebec but a few blocks separated from the most touristy areas. We were fortunate to be upgraded to a room with a terrace and river view. The room had plenty of closet and storage space. The bathroom featured a long and deep bathtub to luxuriate in, plus a space age bidet built into the toilet seat. Also enjoyed the bath bomb!

Service was stellar. The concierge Marjorie did a great job explaining how the bus system worked, which helped us get a better feel for areas outside the historical center. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet; this was peak strawberry season and we took full advantage. The croissants were much better than we get at home. We would definitely stay here again.

I really think a 5 star does not fully express the full experience at Auberge St Antoine. Staying here has been a happy accident for us, when we suddenly found ourselves in need of last-minute accommodation (due to an unexpected situation with our other lodging). We were traveling with our two senior dogs, so we really feared that we wouldn't be able to find an alternative. The warmth and understanding of the staff at the Auberge couldn't be more touching! One of our dogs is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, so their kindness and acceptance means the world to us. Our old girl particularly appreciated the heated bathroom flooring, which kept her bedding nice and toasty. The concierge and valet have been particularly helpful - perhaps they read the anguish and lost sleep on our faces. 😄

Although this was an unplanned stay, we couldn't be happier with our accommodation and the overall experience we've had at the Auberge. It is a very special place, with great care taken to attend to every little detail. The location is perfect for visitors to Québec City and t would be a perfect hotel for visitors that have an interest in the history and culture of Québec. The hotel would be a lovely setting for visitors of all types, including those of us who travel with furry family members. Just steps from the historic center of the first French settlement. Place Royale and next door to the Museum of Civilization, it couldn't be in a better location! For families with young children, don't miss a visit to this museum - the interactive exhibits for children are fun and inspiring.

Although this is our first stay at the Auberge, we have dined at Chez Muffy during previous visits to the area and it is an experience not to be missed. Although we particularly enjoy going for dinner, the breakfast menu is also quite special. The wine and drinks offerings are also varied and extensive.

Auberge St Antoine is a testament to the heartfelt warmth and genuine spirit of Québec City and the people of the Province. We have been visitors to the city and various parts of the Province for close to thirty years and I regret to say that this was our first time staying at Auberge St Antoine. It certainly won't be our last and we will recommend it to everyone we know, without hesitation!

If you're considering a visit to Québec City and want to make it a memorable experience, look no further than a stay at Auberge St Antoine! We cannot thank them enough for helping us in our hour of need and also, for providing us with a special experience during our anniversary weekend. Merci millefois á tous!

As a Relais & Châteaux property, this hotel fell short of expectations despite its beautiful exterior and central location in the heart of Old Québec. Providing glorious views of the St. Lawrence River from a huge private deck, the Panoramic Suite itself felt cramped and dated, but it was recently rebranded as a “spa” suite after a much-needed bathroom makeover. Overall service quality was also hit and miss, as valet attendants were exceptional while the front desk felt disorganized. Notable amenities include a well-equipped gym and restaurant Chez Muffy, where dinner outshines breakfast service as well as the overpriced offerings at Bar Artefact. For those with time to explore the local culinary scene, try to book a table at Restaurant Tanière³ before it’s discovered by the Michelin Guide.

Relais & Chateau does not ever disappoint, We stayed 3 nights in the very European like old city of Quebec. The hotel is located in Old Quebec on the lower river level. After touring the "upper" city, I am very happy we stayed in the lower area. You had restaurants. shopping, galleries and a river walk. The hotel for about $40/night will park your car in the lower levels below the hotel, secure but you can go down anytime via the elevator. Once you park your car, it is not needed as you can walk or take a inexpensive cab ride.

Our room overlooked Rue St. Antoine and had a private balcony with chairs overlooking the courtyard. The room is plenty large with a spacious bathroom, apple closets, water daily, robes and slippers. The shower has a rainfall shower which is just plain excellent.

We ended up not eating at the hotel because there were so many options for breakfast and dinner. The concierge gave excellent advice on touring, restaurants and can make reservations for you as well as calling a cab. Easy 5 stars.

The hotel is at the base of the old town. It is a 10 mins walk from the cruise terminal, and 10 mins taxi from the main railway station so a great location.

The rooms are comfortable and reasonably well appointed with coffee machines.

The breakfast is excellent and worth the money.

Food in the bar area is limited and better value from going to other nearby restaurants.

The staff are friendly and helpful and there is usually a complimentary shuttle car to the top of the hill and other nearby locations available.

Our main negative was we had to wait for our check in until 4:00 pm which is late by most hotel standards and rather frustrating.

We stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite overlooking the interior courtyard. It was a very nice stay, and quieter on this end of the hotel in the lower town of old Quebec. The room had a living room, which was nice to relax after walking all over for hours and a small patio. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Matthew (valet), another valet and the concierge. The location of the hotel was close to the attractions (funicular and stairs to walk to upper town, Fairmont Le Frontenac, place royale, shops, restaurants, Citadelle, port and river, etc.) At the hotel we enjoyed breakfast one day at Chez Muffy, enjoyed a private movie in the hotel’s movie theatre with popcorn (both complimentary), and liked the turn down service with music played in our room upon return to the room with refilled drinking water and mini chocolates. The hotel seems very safe due to having to use your room key card to ride the elevator to your floor or down again, and it is also eco friendly in that you need your key inserted in your room wall to turn on the electricity/lights and there is recycling in the room (1/2 of trash can for this). Upon checkout, we were gifted two homemade cookies. If we ever return, we will stay again.

One could not pick a location more unique and convenient than where the Auberge is located. It is off the beaten path but within a five minute walk to all you'd want to visit in Old Quebec City. Upon arrival, all staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, which we appreciated after a long jaunt from New Brunswick into Quebec. Valet parking is very reasonable and convenient. We did have our pup with us, a miniature dachshund, and the welcome for him couldn't have been more kind. He was greeted in our room with a bed, treats and poop bags, and he was welcome in most areas of the hotel. The lounge area is especially comfortable in front of the fireplace. Our room was spotless, timeless, a direct reflection of European roots and all we've experienced abroad. One wouldn't know the difference; it is that exquisite. The bathroom, toiletries - all exceptional, even a heated floor. We were also greeted so warmly by management for we were celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary - and we were incredibly touched by their sentiments and thoughtfulness. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Quebec. I've been to Quebec several times and can say with full confidence, this is the best. If there is any advice I can offer to someone travelling with their pet, just know you must cross the (busy) street to take out your pup to a green patch. There is nowhere located on the property for this.

Our experience at this historic hotel was a blend of exceptional service and minor challenges. The hotel itself is beautiful, steeped in history and elegance. While the overall experience was outstanding, we encountered a view-related issue that slightly impacted our stay.

Room and View
The room's view overlooked a parking garage, which initially dampened our Christmas holiday atmosphere. (I suggest the hotel introduce a "City View" room category to help guests set clear expectations). However, the hotel management, particularly Jason, went above and beyond to accommodate us. He helped us secure a room on a higher floor with a partial garage view, understanding the hotel was fully booked during the holiday season.

Concierge Team: Jenny and Jade were incredibly helpful, securing a last-minute Christmas Eve reservation at Chez Muffy, which turned out to be a magical dining experience. The management's proactive approach in addressing our concerns was commendable.

The bar offered a delightful atmosphere with local cocktails and attentive and attractive bartenders, enhancing our stay. The decor blends modern comforts with historical elements, creating a unique ambiance.

The cleaning service worked diligently, maintaining immaculate standards even during the busy holiday period.

Despite the view challenge, this remains one of the best hotels in town, offering a 5-star experience with outstanding service and attention to detail.

Stayed here for 6 nights over New Year’s Eve and New Years and into early January. We booked a room referred to as Comfort King with a view of St. Lawrence River. As we were checking in, the latest Quebec Government Covid restrictions and curfew were announced effective that day, so it was a bit unnerving time. The staff hotel were however able to install a restaurant table in our room the same afternoon (all restaurants in Quebec got closed for dining-in including those in hotels), so we could be eating meals in the comfort of our own room. The room was spacious and beautiful, with great bathroom, fantastic local refillable toiletries from Oneka Elements (was so impressed with quality that I’m planning to purchase some!). We also had a mini fridge in our room, coffee, tea etc, and plates and cutlery were replaced whenever needed. The staff throughout the hotel were very helpful, and the holiday decor at the time was very inviting. As for food, we tried their delicious breakfast and had small dinner one time (the vegetarian options were very limited, and we were also hoping to try some other local cuisine, even if only through take out). We also tried their messages one time, and their therapists were excellent. We did not have a car, and did plenty of walking in the area; the hotel’s location made it very easy to move around and when grabbing a snack, food, or going shopping. All in all, an excellent choice for our unusual vacation affected by curfews! Would highly recommend this property!

I agree, I bet it would be magical. What a hotel. We were there in February for Winter Carnival. Very cold but fun, we know why everyone wears fur hats, that is a must, and easy to buy in Quebec City near the hotel. There is a furrier right across the street. We also made use of their lovely spa.
