My husband and I recently made our first visit to Quebec City for the Winter Carnival and stayed at Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis. It was a lovely stay. Anthony met us at the door and helped with our luggage. Parking was only about a block away so was very convenient. The hotel is centrally located and everything was within very easy walking distance. It is a charming old building with beautiful stone walls. The hotel had everything we needed and was very clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there are no elevators but we knew that when we booked and it really wasn't an issue. Since it was winter when we visited, we were asked to remove our boots in the lobby/parlor and leave them in cubbies so we wouldn't snow and salt throughout the hotel. They provided hand knit/crocheted slippers for us to use, which was just lovely. Anthony was also very helpful with tips for things to do and restaurant reservations. The only downside was that the rooms could get a little hot at night. I would highly recommend the hotel and look forward to our next visit.

We wanted to stay in an older restored hotel in Old Quebec that was not outrageously priced and close to historical sites and this hotel was it. It was very comfortable with a sitting room with television, bedroom and large bathroom with tub and shower. We read that they had no elevators so we booked Room #18 on the first floor. The hotel staff contacted us days before our arrival to make sure we were able to access their guest portal , which had all the codes we needed for check-in and check-out. They also provided us with vouchers to La Buche, a restaurant two minutes away for breakfast. That was a great perk.
The queen bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had all toiletries we needed. We would stay again!!

The hotel is housed in a building that is 170 plus yr old and still in top shape! The room was princely. And interiors are only second to the Fairmont, I felt. You will be made to feel like an aristocrat of 19th century. They even gift you breakfast coupons @ La Buche (which is a fine but very busy restaurant- if you are on a tight schedule ask for alternative restro which they might provide, occasionally) when you book on their website. The only suggestion is please provide alternative to La Buche as most tourists cannot spend that much time waiting. Overall a great 4-star stay! They really care for any inconvenience you might be caused. Will definitely come back.

This hotel wasn't my first choice, but I booked late and it was the only reasonable option available. I am so glad that I selected it to stay on my visit to Quebec City.

The hotel is ideally located on Saint-Louis street in Old Quebec and is close to Château Frontenac, many restaurants such as La Buche and Bello, and is a short walk to the Parliament Building, Plains of Abraham , the Citadel and and all amenities.

The interior of the hotel reflects the old world charm of the city, and the rooms with their dark woods and exposed brick walls create a calm and relaxing ambience. The elegant, queen size bed and dining area perfectly set to accommodate a night in also added to the romantic feel.

Even though you are assigned entry codes to access the hotel and your room, staff is available round the clock in the foyer to cater to your every need.

One thing to keep in mind, this hotel, like most in old Quebec, is a walk up (no elevator) and the stairs are a bit steep. This was not a deterrent to me, and I do plan to stay at Hotel Le Clos every time I visit Quebec City.

Area for improvement: the hotel was thoroughly clean, but I would encourage management to re-grout the bathroom floor and shower stall tiles.

Spent a few days at this hotel and was very glad we did. The hotel was very beautiful and the price was more than adequate. What I liked most was that it is not the normal cookie cutter modern hotel. It has a beautiful romantic Victorian style with wooden spiral staircases, beautiful Victorian architecture and it felt very comfortable and homey.

The location was a bonus as it is walking distance to everything. After we parked, the vehicle stayed where it was. Reserve a parking spot in the back of the hotel as it is very convenient.

The breakfast location is at La Buche which is a few doors down and the restaurant was phenomenal. My wife had the mushroom omelet and I had the bacon and eggs. The bacon had a full maple flavor but was all delicious. This was so much better than the continental/preheated breakfasts you get in hotels. WARNING: You need to book in advance online and do it over a week before going because this restaurant fills up fast.

The service where needed was friendly and more than adequate.
If you have mobility problems, stay on the lower floor.

I recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Quebec City and will be my go to hotel whenever I am in the City.

I spent 3 nights in a superior room. Prior to arriving I received an email with instructions on the code for the main door and how to check in to get the code for my room. When I arrived I was surprised to see someone on reception.

The receptionists was friendly, my room was on the top floor there was no offer to help with my luggage.

The presentation of the room was very nice, it had a European feel and felt like I was in a museum. The room was cleaned in a rush as there was an empty moisturiser on the chair.

The first couple of nights were fine, however the last night was very hot and noisy, every half an hour I was woken up by the sound of the fridge and ventilation plus the walls are thin so could clearly hear the conversation coming from the room next room.

I put the do not disturb sign on the door, however housekeeping still came in and threw any way stuff I was still using.

Plus point is the location, in the heart of the old town and 15 min walk up hill from the train station.

The rooms were lovely but I don’t think I would choose to stay here again.

Thank you for your review. I,m glad to see that yu have enjoyed your stay overall. In order to keep the charm of our historic hotel, we do not have an elevator to the upper floors. It would've been our pleasure to help bring up your bags if we had known. Even though we are not always on site, we remain available at all times for any issue or concern. We can be reached by text message or by phone at any time, day and night. We would've done our very best to accomodate you during your last night if you had reached out. We usually service our rooms every two days and we do not enter in rooms with «Do not disturb» signs on the door. If that was not the case for you, I'm am deply sorry and will let our housekeeping staff know. It does not reflect the kind of service we wish to offer our guests. We hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again soon and possibly give us a chance to restore your faith in us.

Located right in the heart of Old Quebec. The common area feels like a family room and each room has a unique decor, very traditional, in that old charming way. Rooms open with a key and each suit has a tea set for guests to enjoy.

This property doesn't have an elevator and is a short walk up so it is not very accessible, but that goes for many other hotels in this neighbourhood.

Very well located hotel in the old town with super friendly staff. Very accommodating service, with comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Hotel had a very charming antique feel. Breakfast was included at La Buche down the street where the food was good, although smaller portion sizes than the full menu.

Quaint historic hotel within walking distance of the sites, restaurants and shops. As with all the spaces in this city, the room was fairly small, however was equipped with more than expected: nespresso machine, kettle, teas, sugars, creamers, cups and saucers, tv, safe, bathrobes, hair dryer and all necessary toiletries. There is also a communal kitchenette on the lower floor for those who need it, including ice machine and extra towels/ toiletries.

As noted, there are no elevators, just steep staircases that would pose a challenge for those with mobility issues.

Communication was excellent, providing key code entry details. If you are driving, highly recommend pre-booking a parking spot at the rear of the building if available as parking in this city is a challenge.

Included breakfast at La Buche was excellent. The maple syrup thick cut bacon was the best we have ever tasted!

Staff on site were very pleasant. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was elegant and a great value. Highly recommend booking directly as the free breakfast at La Buche 2 doors down is then included, making this an outstanding value. Hotel is very close to everything and we have already recommended it to family.
