Such a delightful boutique hotel! Our room was cozy, but still large enough where we weren't bumping into each other. I /Loved/ the heated bathroom floor, and the exposed brickwork was so charming! The location cannot be beat- we were in the center of /everything/ with so many incredible restaurants mere steps away. The room was clean, and there were only two other rooms on our floor, so noise was practically a nonissue. Because we were on the top floor, I did have to either duck under the angled rafters or climb across the bed to reach my side, but I only bumped my head once. !!Very Important!! If you will be checking in after 9pm, you should go FIRST to L'Auberge Place des Armes to leave your bags before sending one person a couple blocks down to get the room key. Make sure you call ahead if you'll be checking in after 8pm for appropriate instructions.…
The staff at Auberge Place went above and beyond expectations. They helped with luggage and concerns that we had. It was a very lovely place in the middle of a major storm and had a terrific breakfast.
We stayed in room 1 and enjoyed an amazing view from our corner room. The room was beautiful and had an incredibly comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful and informative. We had continental breakfast every morning in the on-site bistro, Chez Jules. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Old Quebec City
We were in room 9 and it was spectacular. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in. Large, heated floors in bathroom, clean and amazing location. Reasonable price as well considering the quality of the room and coupons for the breakfast at the convenient age downstairs. Not suitable for those with disabilities, but this is the norm for rooms in boutique hotels in historical buildings.
We stayed in room 3 (Guillaume Couillard) which is one of the 1 bed Junior suites. It was a corner room on the second floor. We had a beautiful view of the Christmas market in the street just below as well as a view of the Chateau Frontenac. I spent a lot of time just starting out the window especially watching the snow come down. The bed was comfortable and the heated tile floor in the bathroom felt wonderful. We reserved directly through the hotel and had the breakfast each day in the inside restaurant Chez Jules. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely return.
This small historical hotel made our stay in Quebec just perfect. Its location could not be better; we walked the old city and had easy access to wonderful food venues and pubs. The attic rooms have lots of character and we didn't mind climbing the many stairs to reach them. Staff are both friendly and extremely service oriented, offering us help with making restaurant reservations and printing boarding passes for our return flight. In fact, the staff are one of the best things about our whole experience.
The location next to the Christmas Market and close to Old Town were perfect for us. The rooms were each unique. The attached restaurant had good food and servers that were engaging and friendly. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator but it is a Historic building.
A beautiful boutique hotel that is extremely convenient to all of the sights and shopping in Old Town Quebec. We stayed in the 3rd floor loft and loved the space and amenities. Heated floor in the bathroom and a electric fireplace in the bedroom area were nice perks. Highly recommend this hotel!
One of the many Christmas markets is outside the front door. View of the Chateau Frontenac from our window. Christmas music playing in the street. Pure magic!! The only thing I would change was the cost of breakfast. Was $38 for two. We spent one night in a comparable boutique hotel where breakfast was included and it offered several more options. But again, this place is heaven.
What a lovely property. We arrived in the cold and rain. The gentleman who greeted us(Maxim)? was very nice. He provided all the info we needed for a comfortable stay and carried our bags up the 52 steps to our room. We had a delicious meal that evening in the attached restaurant, Chez Jules. Our server Jeremy was most friendly and efficient. The included breakfast with our reservation was just what we like to start our day. The only thing a bit tiring was the stairs to our attic room. There is no elevator, but we knew that going in. I suppose the workout was really good for us. My bride and I are in our 70’s so it became a little challenging after 4 days. That being said, we would stay up there again. If you are going during the holiday season, you will be right in the middle of most of the German Market. Come stay here. It is a lovely property and a short walk from everything in the Old City. …
