We enjoyed this hotel; great location and our room was attractive and spotlessly clean. Rest assured if you are looking for a place to stay, you could not find a better, cleaner or more quiet location than this one. It is on a quaint little pedestrians-only street, and the hotel view from the sidewalk is charming. Rooms are guaranteed to be ready for your arrival at 4pm. Personally I think this should be more like 2pm as the day is half over before you can actually check into your room. Luckily, our room was ready for us earlier so we could shower and then go out. Wifi was free, and the signal in our rooms, lobby and restaurant was very strong and reliable.
If I could make a few suggestions, for breakfast I don't think it is a good idea to ask guests to leave their table and go boil their own eggs. It is confusing, time consuming and there is no egg timer so you have to use your cellphone. Many people don't have a clue how long to time the egg, and there are no written guides. When we are on holidays, we don't really want to cook our own eggs. The little quiche I had was delicious, and the fruit salad was perfect. Some bread with breakfast would have been nice, too.
When we checked in, Maxim was at the desk and he was great; answered our questions and was very friendly. A different fellow the next day cheerfully helped us with directions when we asked, and booked us a taxi for the next morning. When we checked out of the hotel at 6:50am on day 3, we were somewhat surprised there was no one on the desk yet, and no sign with written instructions what to do; but we found the key drop off. There is also no one on the desk in the evenings, but there is someone from a different hotel who will try to help you if you dial "0". Our TV lost it's cable signal on the second day but in the evening when I called the person at the other hotel, they sent a fellow to try and sort it out. He waited online patiently a long time for technical help but they never answered. It was not his or the hotel's fault, so I don't blame the hotel for the loss of signal.
All in all I'd highly recommend this hotel, but hope in the future once we completely get over the problems from the long lock-down that we've been through, that a few more staff get added to streamline the guest experience. I have no hesitations highly recommending this hotel to others!! :)

The location cannot be bettered for the core of the old city and the old world charm of the street & neighbors simply get you ready for the small auberge itself. The reception area reminds one of an after-thought, as if you are simply 'coming in' vs a formal reception. It provides the hint that this is a touch different. Our room had some 'quirky' angles (the challenge of providing modern convenience to the old building and its layout) but was spotless and had everything. Certainly not a typical BIG BOX HOTEL room!! The added pleasure of high end serial art on the walls (Quebec's Iacurto, Tanobe & Sequin on our walls!!) and the stone wall + exposed beams provided it with extra character. Very sound-proof and comfy. A real treat!

We chose the Auberge Place d'Armes because of its location, affordability, and reputation for service and cleanliness. We were greeted with Sam, the helpful and friendly person at the front desk, had an incredible room that overlooked the busy town center but was incredibly quiet due to the thick stone walls and soundproofed windows (that also opened if you preferred to enjoy the sounds of the cafes and artist shops below), was impeccably well-designed/appointed, and was also spotless clean.
There is a zone near the hotel where you can temporarily park, unload luggage, and check-in. And, the hotel offers parking in a nearby (1 block away) garage with in/out privileges at a nominal fee for downtown Quebec City. Included breakfast was slightly disappointing, but there are so many great breakfast places nearby to try (Smith's was a great spot just around the corner). The ice cream/gelato downstairs is also nice treat, as is their shop featuring all sorts of great food/drinks.
It was a perfect stay, and we highly recommend it.

I booked this on Hotels.com kind of last minunte as we had emergency travel plans change. We booked the loft as we have a family of three and we wanted to have lots of space. The room itself was full of history and rich with unique decor. The bathtub was deep and had a seperate shower. There are two king size beds in this room and a kitchen and sitting area. There is also a tv, fireplace and ample closet space.
The bathroom had quite a few tiles that seemed as though they were in need of repair, and/or moulding and the overflow drain cover kept falling off on me while I was bathing, which made me think this room could use an update, but the rest of the room was great.
I had requested no feathers in my booking and after having an allergic reaction, I realized that they had neglected to remove the feather bedding from the room. I am still dealing with the repercussions with this, and during the Coronavirus this caused some panic for me and my family. The only thing (other than the feathers) that I would change, is the parking situation. The parking wasn't valet, which we would have preferred, and the lot is a city parking lot underground a block and a bit away. This is pretty inconvenient, especially if you came by yourself at a peak time, if you had to leave your luggage unattended or drag it all the way from the parking garage. We were parking in front of the hotel which was a busy street, so we couldn't stay parked there long. Valet would be a better option (if they do have it, it was not offered).
The waiter in the restaurant was amazing and so funny. I would highly recommend going there (I'm sad I didn't catch his name). All the waitstaff was so friendly and welcoming. The coffee in the morning was also amazing, and the breakfast food was good, but a little pricey.

We loved everything about this family owned Inn.
Very friendly and helpful staff . We booked directly with them and found this is the best way as they are prompt response to email and on the phone excellent. If you have any questions please ask them as they are helpful and happy to help.
We checked in and were given room key fob and card for parking which costs $20 per day but is a block from the Auberge but is underground and very secure. This Inn is located right on Rue Ste-Anne and no traffic as no cars just people . It lovingly restored and although no elevators however the stairs are no problem and they brought the luggage up for us . The room was amazing we had rm # 14 Queen bed facing the front very quiet with , french windows that open ( the dogs loved the view as well ). The bathroom was amazing as it has a multi function shower panel , the room was very cosy had a small fridge , great TV.
Below is Chez Jules a small restaurant with a patio and next store is an ice cream shop and a small shop for drinks .
The location is within walking distance of everything in Old Quebec . The dogs loved it and spent time looking out the windows.
We can't wait to go back as it is a real find . We tend to travel in during the week so rooms seem easier to book , so if you come for a weekend book early.

We reserved two rooms for ourselves and our adult daughters for one night in August 2021. Although it was a heat wave outside, the AC made it very pleasant in our 3rd floor rooms. The man who checked us in was very helpful and provided advice on parking our car (which had bikes its roof). In the end, we locked two of the bikes outside overnight (still there in the morning) and got the hotel to store one (too expensive to leave outside) in a rarely used office. This allowed us to park in the large municipal indoor lot nearby (under City Hall).
This hotel is in an amazing location, right in the heart of the old town. Rooms are nicely decorated, beds comfortable. Our rooms included breakfast, which was outside our door at 7:45 AM. They also offered free caffe lattes but we were up before the desk was open so we went to the nearby Starbuck's in the Chateau.
Our only complaint was that the swanky shower was missing its glass sliding doors. Someone had come up with a $15 solution to this $3000 problem by putting a shower curtain inside the rails. This resulted in being buffeted by the shower curtain throughout our showers. Hopefully they will find a more permanent solution for future guests.
Overall, an excellent hotel that we highly recommend!

This hotel is located on a cobblestone street with only foot traffic so was quite quiet. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. There is a restaurant, Chez Jules, downstairs which is also quite good. It's a great location in the walled part of the old city and is within walking distance to many attractions.

We were two adults and one (12 y.o.) child traveling for vacation and loved our stay at the Place D'Armes. The location is right in the heart of the old part of the city so we could easily walk everywhere. Our room (#1) was perfect for the 3 of us in terms of spaciousness and comfort. The decor was a nice balance of original (stone walls, wood beams) and modern with warm, artistic details that made it stylish but approachable. The heated bathroom floor and fireplace were welcome touches given the cold weather. Staff were always courteous and helpful. We loved the smallness and uniqueness of the Auberge Place D'Armes and would stay there again. No need to search for other places.

We were delighted that our hotel was so convenient to shops and dining. The view of the historical Le Château Frontenac and the themed room with well appointed antiques made us feel as if we were taken back in time. The bathroom was small, but the heated floor, oversized lush bath towels and dynamic shower made up for it.
We appreciated the welcoming staff and complimentary coffee and hot cocoa.

We stayed at the Place D'Armes for three nights in December and we loved it. The location is perfect for walking old Quebec City and our room had a view of the Chateau Frontenac. We had a room on the top floor and it was cosy with a lot of character. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The staff was helpful and friendly and we would definitely return next time we're in Quebec.

they have breakfast provided with room, served in restaurant attached....limited selection but good
I do not recall as I am comfortable with both styles. You could contact the hotel directly. I found them very responsive to my inquiries.
I stayed on the first floor in November 2019. One King size bed. But it was glorious!
Yes, it does, as of last year in July anyway. I reserved specifically to bring my dog but then didn’t end up bringing him.
