Stayed at Hotel 71 in Quebec City with family for 6 nights in late December 2022. Wonderful property with amazing staff and service. Rooms are immaculate, clean with wonderful amenities. I want to specially recognize Jimmy from front desk - amazing gentleman that was able to accommodate/recommend the best restaurants as well as ski slopes nearby for our twins. We sure will be back!!!
Interior is modern and rooms are comfortable. Convenient walking distance to shops, restaurants and the tram that climbs to the Frontenac. Would have given this hotel a higher rating if the front desk had been more welcoming.
Jimmy was amazing and made sure every need and desire was taken care of from a locals little jazz bar to the best meal I have ever experienced. The rooms are clean and the beds and pillows are comfy! The shower is great. A walk away from everything being right by the port.
I had the pleasure of staying at hotel 1 in Quebec City for our sales meetings . The whole staff was amazing and the hotel was awesome, a special shout goes to one person in general that was Jimmy front desk , he was an amazing individual and such great help above and beyond. If you get a chance to stay I would highly recommend it. Showers are a 20 out of 10 ha … be sure to ask for Jimmy Sheldon
The person at the front reception ( jimmy ) was awesome both at check in and for the 4 days we were at hotel 71 for business meetings. He went above and beyond with his friendly attitude and awesome service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quebec City.
It might be an old building on the outside but the Hotel is fabulous inside. Wow! a great find by our travel agent to book this hotel for us. Hotel 71 is just walking distance from Old Quebec with great shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the small restaurants we found along our journey. This property is excellently located. The ambience is the first thing you notice of Hotel 71 when you walk into the lobby. The accommodations were amazing! Very spacious modern rooms with great views, very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom as well with separate tub and shower. Quality amenities were provided too. The rooms were amazing, but the customer service topped everything about our stay at Hotel 71. We were first greeted by Jimmy at the front desk. After a long day of travel it was such a pleasure having him check us in. Very knowledgeable, very hospitable and made us feel like we just arrived at our home away from home. We looked forward to seeing Jimmy and his smile every day we were there. He was just an example of all the great customer service we received at the hotel. The Front Desk Staff and Bell Staff could not have been more helpful and sincere to make our stay the best it could be. Truly professionals at what they do. This hotel is a definite repeat visit for us and should be the #1 choice for a hotel in Old Quebec.…
This hotel is located in an historic area, full of art galleries, just outside the boundaries of the historic centre but in easy reach of funiculaire or steps to the mighty Chateau Fontenac Hotel. Our superior room was spacious with two large windows overlooking Saint Lawrence River providing plenty of light to the room and in our case beautiful sunrises on both our nights stay. It provided all the modern facilities and amenities you would expect from this standard of hotel - high quality mattress pillows and bed linen ,plenty of storage including access to under bed for two opened large suitcases. In addition there was coffee machine, focussed bedside lighting mini fridge as well as iron and ironing board. They provided high quality occitane products in the bathroom We were able to provide a generous bag of clothes for washing and drying for CAN$25 unlike many hotels where you pay extortionate prices for each item Can only recommend this hotel for its class style and location and proximity to excellent modern restaurants …
Excellent location for all the sightseeing. Plenty to see & do . Our room was very spacious comfortable bed excellent shower . I used the gym which as clean &well equipped small but fine . The only slight disappointing feature was the breakfast it felt rather make shift although a reasonable choice but no hot breakfast available. The staff were very nice . The area for breakfast wasn’t very spacious & it seemed like a corridor for people to walk through with their suitcases from another part of the hotel . It just quite-in keeping . El
We stayed at Hotel 71 for two nights as we toured Old Quebec. We had a 7th floor room with an awesome view of the Saint Lawrence River. The location is close to several restaurants. The hotel is right next to the lower level of Old Quebec and is within a short walk to the funicular to the upper level. Jimmy, at the reception desk, was very helpful on the several occasions, during which we talked with him. The self-serve wine bar was fun.
I travel for work and pleasure and stay in quite a variety of places. What a great surprise it was to discover Quebec City and a hotel as great as Hotel 71. The hotel is a beautiful renovation, comfortable rooms, great facilities and an excellent location. The true highlight though is the staff. We arrived early in the afternoon as part of a cycling trip and luckily Jimmy was on the Reception Desk. Rarely do I come across such genuine and professional hospitality as provided by Jimmy. Our room wasn't ready and Jimmy followed up and gave us regular updates and then managed to get us on a higher floor after I mentioned "i must be a nice view". Thanks Jimmy and Hotel 71 for a great stay, we'll be back for sure!
