This place is absolutely amazing. Every detail was taken care of. They have a beautiful sitting room with a gas fireplace. They have 24hr tea and coffee and in the afternoon they have cookies and bread.
The parking is a minute away, the staff was very friendly and answered all questions. It is a 10 minute walk to the center of Quebec City. We went for the Christmas Markets and what a pleasure it was to come back and soak in a whirlpool tub.
Breakfast was delicious and the place was just absoltuely beautiful and spotlessly clean.

We loved everything about this place. It was great having total access to everything there. We came in from a damp afternoon one day and thoroughly enjoyed fresh coffee and freshly baked cookies in the parlor by the fire (which was easily flipped on and off). Access to the kitchen and outdoor terrace were also great features. Bedroom was small and cozy, but since you had the whole house it was not an issue.

Room Tip: I would avoid carrying any luggage larger than carryon size since the stairs are steep and tight.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in this Auberge and have mixed feelings about it. Included among the positives are: 1. the interesting collection of antiques throughout the space, 2. location - it was fairly convenient to the Old Town, and 3. it was fairly quiet. On the challenging side: 1. getting up the stairs with a suitcase was a bit of a challenge for a senior citizen, 2. breakfast was a bit of a disappointment - there was limited selection, the coffee was the Kirkland brand, and the only item that appealed to me was the croissant. The negatives noted, I would go back now knowing a bit more about he place.

Quaint small B&B (only 4 rooms) within walking distance to Old City. Caution: all rooms are on 3rd floor, accessible only by two sets of steep and narrow stairs (do not bring heavy luggage!). Since there is no reception office, if you arrive before the room is ready (usually 2 pm), you can call a phone number for help with storing the luggage. The house is well equipped: it even offered a first-aid kit in the hall. Although we smirked at this, it came in handy for my nose bleed (not related to the steep stairs).

This is a gem of a place!!!!!!!!!!!!! I booked our stay over the phone....easy!!! Instructions were easy to follow when we go there!!! Our room was up two flights of stairs. The stairs are narrow but very doable if you are able bodied. The stairs would NOT stop me from staying there again!!! Our room was lovely as were the common rooms. If you need eggs and bacon for breakfast..don't go here. With that said, breakfast was very good and filling. The croissants were amazing. The place was quiet and cosy!!!! Breakfast coffee was out of a coffee pot. Coffee ( Keurig) and tea available 24/7. Walking was easy to get to all the places we wanted to go!!!!

Excellent communication beforehand including early arrival instructions. Quaint interior, helpful housekeeper and assistant. Phone not answered when we arrived, housekeeper was not expecting us, two sets of narrow stairs to room that was very small. Unpleasant neighborhood with trash, abandoned church, loungers everywhere. We did not stay and emailed contact. No reply.

Beautiful property, great location and outstanding staff. We had access to lovely common rooms, kitchen, and a delicious breakfast each morning. We would definitely stay there again. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Short distance to Old Quebec.

What a wonderful find!!!
Quaint, relaxing and close to all the sights!
Friendly staff when arriving.
Donna, the owner, is welcoming and professional!
Really open and available!
Very clean and we felt quite at home!
We had use of the kitchen and could put all of our things there, in the fridge.
Would definitely recommend this B&B!

Thank you again!!!

My wife and I recently spent five nights at Auberge J.A. Moison, and we both enjoyed every aspect of it.

The multi-course breakfasts are outstanding - Nathalie is an expert cook, and Clement is the perfect presenting host. The home is beautiful and welcoming. The bedroom, while small (which Clement will advise you when making your reservation), was spotless, classy and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a room temperature that's always just right. The location is perfect, a short walk from tourist areas but on a vital street that serves the local populace, with plenty of quality restaurants. And you have the J.A. Moison gourmet grocery downstairs, also operated by Clement and Nathalie, any time you need a special snack.

The most important thing is that this is hospitality from people who cherish the notion. During breakfast, be sure to tell Clement what you're interested in seeing during your visit, and he will point you in the right direction -- he's part booster, part historian, and genuinely caring about your vacation experience.

Special detail: On our last morning, Clement told us what we were having for breakfast, asked if we'd ever had the main dish, and we said yes, on our first morning there. He immediately went into the kitchen, and came back to tell us that we would instead have grilled grapefruit with cranberries followed a breakfast souffle, which proved to be wonderful combination. What was originally scheduled would have been fine, but Clement and Nathalie wanted to make sure each breakfast was unique as well as pleasing.

How could anyone possibly be a more stellar host?

I believe J.A. Moisan B&B is open during December. The winter rates are probably better than summer or during the winter carnival (February). The J.A. Moisan B&B website should have the rates posted for you to see. The J.A. Moisan breakfast, location and ambiance are fantastic so don't just look at price when comparing to other B&Bs.

NO. There is one very narrow flight of steps to the commons area, and another flight to the sleeping areas. Both flights have a sharp turn near the top. I also feel it would be difficult, although not impossible, for a "disabled" person to enjoy Quebec City. It is very hilly. I did see some people in wheel chairs, but VERY few. This is just my opinion.

Allô! Nous avons séjourné à l'auberge une fin de semaine, avons acheté des sandwich pour dîner et du miel baratté à ramener à la maison. J'aime beaucoup les "petits pots" de différents produits faits au Québec.
