Les Lofts Saint-Joseph, praised for its cleanliness and convenient location near transit and local amenities, offers travelers spacious and modern accommodations. The staff at the hotel receive mixed feedback, with kindness highlighted alongside some concerns regarding WiFi and customer service. While the rooms are generally appreciated for their size and modern features, guests have noted issues with privacy, layout, and noise, particularly from a neighboring bar. Amenities, including well-equipped lofts, are recognized positively, despite occasional missing kitchen items and parking challenges. Opinions on value vary, with some guests finding the experience overpriced, while others are satisfied with the overall offering.

Loft 302 is very spacious. Very clean, very modern and very comfortable.
The building is welcoming, clean.
The staff is very kind.
Italian restaurant "birra et basta" EXCELLENT close by.
Metro more at the end of the street, useful if not well attended.

However:
- parking offered at 20CAD/night not closed, not secured too expensive although very close
Poor neighborhood. You rub shoulders with social misery all day. You are not in the center of Quebec.
- room closed by a curtain, and without window, pity
- if you book via booking, the manager does not have access to your bank details and therefore cannot take the deposit. They want you to send them by email or text. It didn’t suit me so I had to go to the headquarters... too bad.

Nice and spacious apartment. We had 2 bedrooms (blind pity) and a very large room with bright glass. No noise, the rooms being far from the street.
Parking was easy to access and very convenient. Many homeless in the area due to the proximity of a reception center and soup kitchen without being bothered at all.

We spent three nights in #301 St Joseph. A great location in the St Roch neighborhood, it's a 20 minutes walk from the heart of the old town. The locale is rife with eating options, including a great breakfast restaurant, Stat Cafe, literally next door. A Metro grocery store and SAQ are a short walk from the front door. The apt is spacious and comfortable, the amenities top notch. We were two couples. The bed in the front bedroom, street side, was comfy, and the windows opened to allow cool fall air to keep us comfortable. One drawback is the amount of noise on the street throughout the night.
The inner bedroom was a bit too warm for our traveling companions, but adjusting the thermostat helped alleviate their discomfort. The bed was not great however, and that single complaint kept this from being a 5 star review. We would return if the mattress in the 2nd room was upgraded. All in all, a great spot to stay while visiting this vibrant museum of a town.

I stayed from 12 to 20 September 2024 in the apartment RC2 des Lofts St Joseph.

First of all we didn't choose this accommodation ourselves; we went through a Trips Organizer, it was a package.

We were surprised by the location of these lofts. St Joseph Street East is the street of all social misery. Many shops are for rent. The "soup kitchen is located on the corner just next to the Lofts. There are a lot of tramps.

The apartment is spacious and clean but very dark due to its ground floor location.
We were amazed to find very few dishes: 3 plates, 3 bowls, 3 forks, and so on, in a dismal state, photo attached (fortunately this was changed after our report) but why install a dishwasher if we have to do the dishes by hand because of the so limited number of dishes. The can opener is out of order too.

The absence of everything that allows cooking (oil, vinegar, paper towels, sponge, etc....) forces holidaymakers to go to the restaurant all the time, either buy everything and end up throwing everything away at the end of the stay. Had we known that, we would have preferred a Pension.

Finally, we had a problem with the air conditioner. It appears that an intervention has taken place but the problem has not been resolved. We were awakened twice by a kestrel noise from the air conditioning, despite a fairly high setting (21°). Hard to do without because the windows of the apartment cannot be opened.

We still had a great time in Quebec City. However, if we were to return, we would not choose these accommodations.

We stayed 4 nights at the Loft St-Joseph with our 4 teenagers. We reserved this unit (103) because we wanted to have some privacy and not have any kids sleeping on a pull out couch. We were also looking for a full kitchen because we have food allergies that makes it difficult to eat in restaurants 3 times per day.

We were quite dissappointed that the 2 bedrooms have no doors (only a curtain)! Also the main master bedroom had pretty much no furniture, no lights and no TV (only an Ikea closet).

Our other main complain would be the small AC unit in the kitchen that is barely cooling off the kitchen/living room. Definitely the bedrooms were too warm and all 6 of us found the nights terrible...

The fridge in the unit was actually not that cold and the freezer never really worked that well. Even at the coldest setting our icecream melted.

The coffee machine in the unit was a 5$ cheap thing and the on-off button was broken when I arrived. On the 4th day it finally broke and I did not have coffee on my last morning (thank god we were leaving anyways!).

Location was ok. Took 20 minutes walk to go old Quebec City and we loved that we did not have to drive downtown. Payable parking was not that far from the hotel but I would agree with another reviewer that there was a lot of homeless people on the street.

Metro grocery store is extremely close to the hotel which was great. We wanted to use the kitchen to prepare some of our meals and there was enough plates/bowls/ustensils for more than 1 meal which was great. The dishwasher was amazing too.

Overall the kitchen (except for the fridge and coffee machine) and living room were great. Clean and overall good decor.

We would probably not return to this location mainly because the bedrooms were not adequate (no doors, warm, no ventilation, no furniture in main bedroom).

The loft itself was very good but the location on rue Saint Joseph leaves something to be desired, especially in the evening.
The paid parking lot is in a street behind the loft but which is not closed, it is a vacant lot. The place cost around $20 per night. It's expensive considering the parking.

We stayed in a family apartment on the 4th floor over Christmas with 4 adults and 2 kids. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space as we thought it would feel much tighter. The bathroom was also a positive with deep soaking tub and rain shower head. Unfortunately the positives ended there…

This rental had a full kitchen etc but did not include important kitchen basics like a sponge to clean dishes with or a usable set of cookware. There was a small, overused, no longer non-stick frying pan along with two medium sized sauce pots…. That’s it. Only 3 of the 4 burners on the stove worked. The kitchen trashcan was so small that the standard sized bags we brought were huge making it hard to keep the garbage area clean. No dish towels, no oven mits, NO BROOM! I was so grossed out by the time we left because we couldn’t properly up after ourselves!

Otherwise, doors on the bedrooms would have been a HUGE plus. The bunk beds were awesome but the queen mattresses on the adult beds were brutally sunken.

Lastly, there were many homeless folks in the area, and on our street, which meant coming and going especially at night could get sketchy (i.e. people watching as we unloaded and loaded our car…homeless yelling rants after dark…). We are from the NJ, NYC, PHL area and are generally “aware and on guard” all the time lol, but visitors should definitely watch their backs and their belongings.

There were many good things about this apartment. It’s huge, modern and has many good facilities, such as a washing machine and dryer. It’s close to a really good grocery shop so self catering was easy.

The main negative point is that it’s far far too hot and the air con just doesn’t reach to either of the bedrooms!! This made it very uncomfortable at night and we struggled to sleep.

Parking is a real issue if you have large cases as we did. Yes there is parking you can reserve which is slightly closer than the public car park but you will still be dragging your bags a fair distance past homeless people. Not the property’s fault I accept but just makes it an unpleasant experience.

There are a few house keeping issues that need addressing:- large saucepan needs a lid, the place mats are cheap and plastic and don’t even lie flat on the table. I had to clean one of the saucepans before using it as it was unwashed. Sadly little things add up and make a big difference. It’s the only place I’ve ever stayed that has offered a coffee machine and filter papers but no coffee, meaning that first thing you do is to have to go and buy some.

Spacious apartment with nicely updated furnishings. Bed was comfy and the bedrooms very dark and quiet for a good night’s sleep. Although if traveling with another couple or kids the bedrooms don’t offer much privacy as there are no doors, just a curtain. Rooms are on the opposite side of the apartment; however, there’s only one bathroom located next to one of the bedrooms.

WiFi signal was very weak, never allowing us to connect.

Les Loft has multiple properties throughout Quebec City. The pictures describing this apartment are a composite of multiple units and do not accurately or fairly depict the unit we rented.

Based on the pictures presented we spent over $1400 expecting a spacious, modern, light-filled apartment. When we arrived for a long New Year’s Eve weekend what we discovered instead was a dark, unkept and poorly maintained space: where under the beds and on top of build-in were layered in dust, where kitchen and bath tiles were broken and cracked and grout was missing; where the toilet ran constantly and the kitchen faucet was so loose that it needed to be held with one hand and operated with the other, and where repeated calls to the concierge service left these issues unresolved.

In addition to these shortcomings, the dining room chairs sagged so badly that it felt as if we were sitting in an infant's highchair, the thermostat in the living room kept falling off the wall, a night stand was literally falling apart, the living room was so poorly lit that after dark a headlamp was needed to read, the sink in the bathroom did not drain and a window shade in the living room could not be raised. Add to these the fact that this was a Quebec kitchen that did not have wine glasses.

As a caution, whether renting this unit or one of the other apartments owned by this developer, don’t let what happened to us happen to you. Be sure to get an accurate description in print and pictures of the unit you considering.
