If you are looking for a place of restful contemplation in the heart of the old city with incredible food then this should be your go to. Personally I am not religious so I was a bit wary about the connection but I found it just a general spiritual place which was inclusive and understanding and fully supported my well-being in all of the ways while I was there. I would highly recommend it for your next conference or gathering! The natural light in all of the rooms supports focus, concentration and overall wellness not to mention it is overall a gorgeous space!

Special place, have stayed there twice. It is clean, peaceful and in a great location in Quebec City. The building has a fascinating history and even has a museum. I loved the guided walks in the mornings.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Everything was great, location , service , food and amenities. Very relaxing and helped me reconnect with myself. The historical aspects of the building where well maintained and the hotel and grounds were beautiful and peaceful. I felt like I was in a different time and loved learning about the monastery and the beginning of Canada.

I had a very nice stay at this property's authentic rooms. The rooms are very basic, as they advertise. I was in a room where a nun slept. The furniture were spartan but effective. The only downside for me was the doorway is shorter than 6'. I banged my head on the doorway at least once per day. The shared bathrooms were kept clean. I think someone inspects them once per hour throughout the day. The breakfast buffet was very good. I like the selection of foods and there are two variations of hot dishes that alternated. Be aware that televisions are not in the rooms, but there is Wi-Fi.

Dear Paul, Thank your for taking the time to leave a review on your stay at the Monastère des Augustines. We're so sorry that you bumped your head on our short door frames. Back in the days, people were much smaller and in shows in our architecture. We're glad that you enjoyed our facilities and our less is more concept, based on the Augustine's values. We hope to see you again in your Monastère. Kind regards

This lovely hotel is walking distance to everything there’s to do in Quebec. It’s so peaceful and serene with so much history. It’s amazing how the designers incorporated the old with the new. Just an architectural beauty.

I booked the hotel at the last min so I didn't know what I would get into. I just saw a pretty high rating w/ lots of reviews and picked this one. So I was quite surprised to find out it used to be a very old monastery. I've never stayed in anything like this before. Quite an interesting experience. And I loved it. The room was clean and cozy. It was very quiet at night except when people open/close the door. I also liked the silent breakfast. I got to see the museum on the first floor, but didn't get to see the vault. Two entrances. The one on the second floor opens to the streets in the old city. I liked the location of the hotel. It was easy to get around.

For the past few years, I've been going nonstop and needed to slow down and just be, so I booked the 3-night renewal stay package for myself. I stayed in one of the authentic rooms, which was clean and comfortable. The meals were healthy with a focus on fruits and vegetables and were very good. I also had access to the daily wellness activities (meditative walk around the city in the morning and yoga in the evening) and the museum exhibits, which enhanced my stay in the city. I left feeling much calmer, and I'm trying to incorporate that I learned into my daily routines.

What a beautiful place. Absolutely charming and peaceful. We booked a contemporary room which was lovely. It was fun to walk the hallway if the “authentic” room area, very charming and unique with little wooden doorways and nice looking (shared) bathrooms. The contemporary rooms have bathrooms included. The setting is really pretty and I enjoyed the museum areas. The breakfast was included and was the best hotel breakfast I e seen in a long time! Great food made with care and I think local ingredients. The location is also really perfect for exploring the city. It’s right in the midst of everything. There is a back door entrance that is very convenient and puts you very close to all the walkable shops and restaurants. Please consider this for a unique and special place to stay!

This is a somewhat different style of accommodation. Integrated into a long established monastery of cloistered nuns and the site of the first hospital in the city, it beautifully melds its past with contemporary secular times. The facility has been excellently restored and offers a variety of room styles. The values of calmness, wellness and sustainability are emphasized in various ways. Consistent with that, the rooms do not have telephones or TVs. There is good WiFi. A particularly interesting aspect linked to its former vocation is the requirement that the (excellent) breakfast be taken in silence. The facility contains an extensive and very informative museum, much of which is encountered as one walks through the corridors leading to the elevators. We found the location to be excellent - a fifteen minute (uphill!) walk from the main railway station, as well as very easy walking access to the main areas of the historic city. Very quiet. Other than breakfast we did not eat any meals there so are unable to comment further.
