Functional room, good location. Service nonexistent. Booked 3 nights, would give us 2 coffee pods at a time and had to justify needing creamer & sugar. Wifi password wasn’t provided & then had to go back and ask again the next day as it was changed. Customer service not a strong point.
The hotel is tidy and room is spacious, Bathroom is decent sized. Staff is polite and courteous. Parking is at rear and there is ample space to park. Breakfast was included in my stay. There are many café and restaurants near to the hotel at a walking distance. Hotel has a strong wifi, hotel restaurant is open all through the day and serves quality food. If you are going to Tadoussac for whale watching, bus to bring you to boat starts from a stop next to the hotel.
I booked this hotel based off Trip Advisor reviews as well as Air miles. I was super hopeful for a great hotel experience and in some ways it was nice, it had a good location, walking distance to the beach/pier and many restaurants. The restaurant on site was very nice, the front staff were nice. Thats where it ends for my family thou. We traveled as a family of three, my husband and I and our 8 year old daughter. We came as part of a Quebec vacation because I wanted to go whale watching. The room was very tiny, we didn't have anywhere to put our suitcases without obstructing the room, not many locations to put clothes away. The bathroom was super tiny with a small pedestal sink so couldn't even unpack toothbrushes, there was rust on the baseboard heater in the washroom and the tap in the shower sprayed everywhere whenever we turned it on (mist.. like a leak or something at the faucet). The beds, i swear the feet were higher than the head of the bed. My husband has a previous broken back but he has been in rehab, PT, chiro, and has been coming along, those beds set him way back. We couldn't even turn over without making a ton of noise and we could feel every bar/spring in our backs/sides. There was absolutely no insulation whatsoever between the walls. I could hear the neighbour room pulling toilet paper in the bathroom. The people above us I could hear all day and all night. In the middle of the night they were running around, sounded like the chandelier was going to fall. We did not sleep the entire time we were there. My husband wanted to check out early and go to Montreal but I convinced him not to since I had already paid for the room and wanted to get my money worth!…
Travelled with family to go whale watching. The hotel Has friendly staff and good location. Handy to have a full service restaurant onsite. Rooms and bedding aren’t awesome - but good enough for our one night stay.
We stayed in motel for two nights. Cute small motel to stay, Everything was acceptable, except puddle in the bathroom from leaking sink (but it was ok as it only for 2 nights and we got extra towel). Their restaurant is another story, as we didn't have good experience there.
We were sorry that the hotel Tadoussac was fully booked as we were impressed with our stay there last year. We booked the Beluga expecting a motel room. Imagine our surprise when we found a small cabin with a seating area and all the amenities you could wish for. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed. There was even an outdoor seating area. This will be our first choice of hotel if we return another year. The Beluga also has an on-site restaurant with delicious food. It is very popular so a reservation might be a good idea.
Le Beluga Hotel is really two buildings. One set of rooms is over the restaurant and has pleasant decks that fave the highway. The hotel is near the ferry boat entrance so the traffic is very regular. The rooms are spacious but spartan. They could use additional lighting and a bathroom update. But the access to the village and the nice restaurant are unexpected pluses.
As other reviews have said, the rooms are small but functional, the bathroom average size, and very clean and well maintained. The queen bed was very comfortable. I recommend getting a room with a balcony as most of the views are great and it gives a bit of extra living space. The included breakfast is a plus as well, although choices were limited. I would recommend for shorter stays of up to three days if you want a functional place that's good value. Longer than three days and I think you'd start to find the room a bit tight.
We were content with our tight, very clean second floor standard queen room for two nights but wouldn’t want to spend an extended stay here. It had 2 comfortable armchairs, a mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker, with cushy queen bed and pillows. We did have an outdoor balcony with love seat, but the weather was too cold to enjoy it. I noted that upgraded rooms ( king or double bedded) were a bit more spacious and would be worth the extra money if you are claustrophobic. There is no elevator so one has to lug your own bags upstairs. I found the wifi inadequate for my older Apple devices, but my husband had no trouble connecting with his PC laptop. We had 2 awesome successful days of whale watching from the many shore observation points nearby. In comparison to other accommodation properties in the area, Le Beluga was decent value for the money. It’s rare to see so many cetaceans in the wild in Canada from on shore, making the higher prices in the town more acceptable. …
Other places around Tadoussac may have better views and food, but this hotel is not too bad. Rooms are on the smaller side, especially if you are traveling in a larger group. However, everything is clean and they do have air-conditioning (which should not be taken for granted in Quebec in summer.) We had included the breakfast in our reservation and that wasn't too bad at all. The hotel is a bit close to one of the main highways, so once in a while, the engine brakes of large tractor-trailers might startle you in the night.
