This hotel is under big time renovations. no rooms on ground floor, no pool, no spa, WIFI is sporadic in hotel. Hot water took a long time to reach 3rd flr. room, and shower handle installed wrong hard to find the right temperature, only shower room. No room lamps, only 1 wall mirror light. fridge not working. Were at least 5 bags of garbage outside a room on 3rd floor, from people living there.
Attached Bellagio restaurant was good for supper and free breakfast.

Checking in was smooth, with friendly and helpful staff. The common areas are well kept. There is only one elevator that can sometimes take a while.
Our room was a little on the small side, but it was very clean and comfortable, with the exception of a bathroom that was in need of some updating (still clean and adequate nonetheless). The number of channels available on the television seemed to be a little on the skimpy side as well, but we weren't there to watch TV anyway.

Overall, this is a relatively inexpensive hotel with a very good amount of amenities for the price. The staff were great and as you're looking for clean and relatively basic accomodations, this place serves the purpose very well.

well up until the day i checked out everything was good until i received my folio from the hotel and noticed that I was charged twice for my first reservation in the amount of $229.71 . I talked to the front desk person only to be told that id have to call wyndum directly and that it was there issue to deal with. so i called and they told me that yes they can see that i was charged twice but its the hotels responsibility to reimburse me for the amount taken from my bank account. went back to the front desk person told them what the wyndum person told me and they said they couldn't help me until the manager was back from vacation . what i dont understand is how crooked they are to not reimburse the amount owed to me even after providing them with my bank statement that clearly shows they charged me twice but not only that the dam folio from them clearly shows it .

Went to stay at this hotel for vacation and it was going good until someone stole my clothing. Went to report it to the front desk and they couldn’t clarify the situation. They didn’t even get the time out to properly investigate. There was this one lady working there that tried her best to help but then because her shift ended it was handed over to a man who covered her shift. He told me he knew nothing about it so he can’t help me which is soo crazy. This hotel is not secured because anyone can get access to your key card.

Friendly, helpful front desk staff, nice renovated rooms with large wall mounted flat screen. The bathroom had a great shower, pool is still under renovation. The included breakfast next door at Billagios restaurant is delicious and filling. Will definitely stay here the next time I need accommodations in the city.

I had choose this hotel based on a previous review. I now very much disagree with that review.
We drove up to this hotel, expecting a good quality, classy hotel, based on the name. We found it to be motel like, and very trashy. I was hoping that my opinion would change once we went inside. I was again, disappointed.
Once we went into our room, one of the best suites the hotel has to offer, we were again disappointed. It was a spa luxury suite, but there was little luxury to be had there. The jetted tub was dirty, and the faucet was not stable (When I attempted to turn it on, the whole faucet and spout moved!!!). The TV was small, and the one in the bedroom was even smaller! The TV in the bedroom was a old tv, minimum 20 years, it also would not get all of the channels that we were able to get in the living space. The fan in the bathroom vibrated the bed in the bedroom, and the sink was very slow to drain in the bathroom. The shower head was very low, my 6 foot boyfriend had to bend down for it to get the top of his head, and the shower pressure was very weak!
We had a wonderful view of a full dumpster, that was full of mattresses and car parts.
When I had my curling iron contected to the plug in the bathroom, with no other devices connected to the power, it tripped a breaker and all the power in the bedroom and bathroom went out. We did contact the front desk to fix the issue, they told us it was normal for the hotel and seemed to treat this as a non issue. We were told it happens all the time.
When we did address these issues to management they were only willing to give us a $40.00 discount, on one night. The hotel was $245.00 per night!!!! I feel that at that rate, I should be in a comparable room to other hotels, and this was no where near comparable!!!

What a disappointment! The website photos and description are very deceiving and what you see is definitely not what you get. The front of the hotel is rather shabby looking but the website promised fully renovated rooms so we thought we’d give the place a try. Never again! Before we even entered the lobby we were approached in the parking lot by two separate beggars Even my 10 year old neice said the hotel looked like a dump. The lobby is modern looking but the adjacent pool area is shabby and very dated. The hallways and elevators very dirty and in much need of repair. As soon as we opened the door to our room (which had graffiti scratched in it) we knew we could not sleep in there. The rooms were crammed with dated furniture there was an extension cord running across the room and under the metal bed frame, the room smelled and the bedding looked dirty and well used. We turned around and left. The front desk staff was friendly and were apologetic to us but the hotel was not to our liking at all! It did not match in any way the room that was advertised online, otherwise we would not have booked there to begin with.

Response from Bev1110, General Manager at Travelodge by Wyndham Regina
Responded Oct 7, 2011
First I want to thank you for taking the time to post a comment, second I want to thank you for not staying at our hotel. Clearly, based on your comments, we would have never lived up to your expectations. We are very proud of the renovations to our hotel and if you read the comments posted here, I have admitted that our furniture is not brand new, but our mattresses and bedding are. We also boast new flat screen T.V.'s. Our hall carpets are not new, but regularly shampooed and soon to be replaced. One project at a time. Our hotel is clean and our staff provide exceptional customer service and our renovations are almost complete. In order to avoid disappointment in the future, ensure the hotel you book is a 4 star or better. Sincerely Yours, Bev Herperger General Manager

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had, and it was not the result of a comedy of errors, as I've had some experience with those as well.

Overall impression:
The best word I can use to describe the hotel is 'dingy', where they took the pictures for the website and listings I have no idea, but it wasn't where I was. There was a smoking area directly at the door we used to enter the hotel (through the back) and I was concerned that there was no need to have a key to open the door even at 10pm. The lack of security definitely became an issue as the night progressed...

The room:
The rooms were very small and 'tight' - functional, but dark and kind of icky - as in I was afraid to walk on the carpets in bare feet. Even the decor was dark, which did not lend itself to making the room more inviting. The heating unit on the wall did not work at all, bu thankfully the thermostat on the wall did. The 'thing' (not sure what you'd call it...) to turn the shower on was so ancient in its design it took more than a few minutes to figure out how it even worked. Once we got the shower working, it was fine. Bed was comfortable, but that's where the good times end...

The experience...
This hotel is 'home' for quite a few of the shift workers at the local oil refinery. In addition, there's a lounge/bar downstairs in the hotel. So, approximately every 30-40 minutes or so throughout the ENTIRE night, there was loud and obnoxious knocking on the door right across from our room with cajoling to 'come party with us man!' - and you know how loud drunk people can be. They came to that room repeatedly throughout the night and only got louder as the night progressed. It was truly unbelievable.

I cannot remember the last time I had such a poor experience and broken sleep - the moment I'd get into a deep sleep I'd be jerked back awake wondering if they were banging on my door and if someone was going to try to get into our room in their 'drunken brilliance'.

This will absolutely be reported to the hotel management and frankly, they should have paid me to stay there. If you are forewarned and forearmed and OK with the above, then I would highly recommend you not spend 1 cent more than $50 for that experience. I've had more a more peaceful night's sleep at a campground.

You'll find in Regina that many of the hotels are in the same vicinity price-wise - I HIGHLY recommend you select one of the others. We had a truly pleasant experience at the Wingate, for example - for the sake of saving $10, we'll be kicking our own butts for the next 2 days as we try to catch up on our sleep and enjoy the rest of our weekend. In my husband's words, "I will never stay in that dump again - EVER!"

Rooms are shabby. The linens on the beds are grey and past their prime. One sheet had blood stain on it. The knob for the shower was broken. Waited 5 minutes for lukewarm water. Pillows were lumpy. The rugs in the halls had huge stains and were dirty. Our room was not made up when we got back to the hotel at 6:00. Were offered a suite but that ment packing up all our stuff and trying to get comfortable in a new bed and sharing instead of each having our own bed. We changed our own sheet. Later in the evening, we had someone trying to get into our room with a pass key because the front desk had changed our room number to the suite after we had already told them we were not moving. They had already rented out the room. Got a discount of $26.00. If they were really concerned they would have made more effort to make things right. They don't care if their customers are satisfied. They rent by the day, week or month so they have alot of construction guys staying there so they don't care about those who are there for the weekend. Do yourselves a favour and do not stay here. Go somewhere that you can enjoy and relax.
